Good to know that we still have reasonable people like you in the system. Love the article to bits. How I wish you had preempted this situation and written to caution against it. I will choose a Ghanaian coach over any other any day; that is my pride. And there was certainly no advert for a coach so there again some procedures have been sidestepped.

Dont worry Alan, we shall make it a simple walk through if you become the flag bearer . They never believed we could make things so hot , now very soon they will wish they had collectively resigned . We have all the documented evidence of their corruption nepotism and criminal activities meant to undermine the future of the Akans and we shall release them to the world to see so we make an example of Mahama and how to bring down a corrupt president , no need for coups. We shall also deal with once and for all this undeclared warfar against the Akans and they will weep and gnash their teeth very soon . African needs leaders with integrity , justice in their hearts and humility in the souls to serve the interests of the people , not liars and thieves as we have today . We shall teach them a lesson never to be forgotten very soon .

The hammer hits right on the head of the nail; the humiliation of Ghana was not because of the performance of the Stars but rather the ridiculous hauling and escorting of millions of US dollars instigated it.
Thanks Kwame!

What a brilliant analysis of the problems of the Black Stars and Ghana at large. Kwesi Appiah ,who is not a very outspoken coach and not so flamboyant has been sacrificed conveniently by the GFA. What is this obsession with Serbian Cosches? As the saying goes "when you go Black you stay Black" pardon the pun. I believe the GFA should apologise to Kwasi Appiah ,reinstate him or bring in another Ghanaian ---- Desailly,Grant or any of the other Ghanaians ,waiting to perform for Ghana, including Appish's assistant Maxwell Konadu.

Nothing could be more astute than your insightful analysis of the topsy-turvy patriotism prevailing in our beloved country. Thank you for saying it as it is.

Thumbs up bro. No one could have said it any better. And maybe Archbishop Duncan Williams should be right, that " the success of others will either push you to do better or cause you to envy them". The unfortunate thing is that the last option has mostly been the case in our part of the world. Why on earth will you envy a player whose career can end with a mere arm-string injury without an insurance cover or "pension" allowance? Maybe, it's about time some people simply shut up and do their job. Anti-progressiveness is never patriotism! The players deserved their "pound of flesh".

The writer of this article has been very philosophical about the Black Stars and seem to have sympathy for Kwasi Appiah. Whilst sharing that sympathy for Kwasi, I thought he encouraged cheats to infiltrate his space, operate blatantly without boundaries and with impunity.
What happened in Brazil was daylight robbery and Kwasi Appiah could not extricate himself from the fuss. He became so defensive and adopted the wrong posture by not attempting to bring the wayward players back into the fold. I thought he was more inclined in forcibly retiring some of the players than doing everything as their coach to get the best out of them.
