The candidates-trimming delegates voting was not meant to decide if anyone would emerge unopposed. Therefore it cannot sufficiently replace the October Congress.
Meanwhile, despite the huge margin by which Akufo-Addo won the trimming votes, and the greater likelihood that he may win the Primaries, it is necessary for the Party to stick to its Constitution, and leave no doubt in establishing who the Party really prefers to be its flagbearer.
Elections are not won with guesses, and statistical projections. Those are only signals pointing in possible outcomes. Not the outcomes per se.
Given that every single vote in an eligible population counts in all true Democratic Elections, it would be an egregious precedence to simply abandon the Constitution for any other convenience.
If Nana's supporters are sure of his victory in October, let them just sit by and allow the October Primaries happen. It may then confirm their hopes and will have upheld the democratic requirements of the NPP Constitution.
People must also understand that the 140,000 plus delegates who are expected to vote in October are not the same as the 780 that voted in the trimming exercise. Projections hold so long as there are no extenuating circumstances to cause an upset. With the current heating up of animosity between Alan's and Nana's camp, there is, at least, a certain psychological imperative that the October Congress is honored.
I am not surprised by this Professor's position as stated in the Article because he began long ago to scheme to have NPP recognize Nana as its only bona fide spokesperson, way ahead of the Primaries. His ploy would have presented Nana as the face of NPP and deceptively inform the masses that he had already been blessed by the Party to be its Flagbearer without Primaries.
While an unopposed candidacy is possible in NPP, there are certain fair and constitutionally directed means to attain that status. It is not by insults, intimidation, blackmail or any other form of coercion, and that status would normally be established before candidates are invited to apply to contest in the Primaries and pay the huge fees. More, any unopposed status suggested after the fees are paid, like now, ought to be by amicable, poignant appeal to the other contestants who may then, voluntarily, stand down.
So, I strongly support the idea that the October Congress is held as scheduled.

You better learn to be a democrat if I may ask, do you know the NPP have rules and regulations known as constitution? If fact it strange to many of us in the party that if the likes of you are TRUE members of Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition or you are mole within the party? If care is not taken we may not have NPP over night. We can't allow one man's political ambition to take a whole party hostage, it look like most of you don't care about the interest of the party. You are sitting in New York spewing rubbish and Ghanaians are suffering, history is repeating itself just like what Paa Willie did in 1979 because of his political ambition he didn't think of the nation. NPP need political power but not a party candidate. You should just sit, wait and relax for the party LAWS to take it course. Super-Delegates Congress is not a National congress, the party need money but we can just bend the rules to save money. Okoampa a word to a wise is( in the north)enough. Ghanaians are watching.

Okoampa-Ahoofe, Jr., you have done all you could to have the derogatory tag, "Quitman", stick on Alan. But the truth is that your Akufo-Addo had been "Quitman #1", long before Alan did anything to attract your insulting tag.
In 1979, Akufo-Addo walked out of PFP with his relative, Paa Willie, to form the UNC, after seeing no chance of unseating Victor Owusu from his leadership position in the PFP.
So, Akufo-Addo is a much a "Quitman" as Alan. At least, Alan came back to the same Party, NPP. Akufo-Addo never came back to the PFP. It was that split from PFP by Akufo-Addo and his Paa Willie faction that caused the PFP to lose at the ensuing General Elections that brought Dr. Liman's PNP to power.
So, stop your hypocrisy and continuing assault on Alan to suppress his challenge to Akufo-Addo. What is even more disturbing is that your insults could alienate many Alan supporters to vote against Nana in 2016.
Has it ever occurred to you that any loss of votes from the NPP core voters could irreparably damage the Party's Flagbearer's chance to win in 2016, whoever that person may be?
Many disgruntled NPP members on Alan's side may well contend with a majority NPP in Parliament and Akufo-Addo's loss in the Presidency bid.
And if you are counting on any Nationwide popularity for Nana to win in 2016, wait till the NDC propaganda machine begins to attack him with his "Yen Akanfo de.." divisive mantra.
If your Akufo-Addo does need Alan's supporters to win, then go on adding to the mess with your nepotism-driven trashing-out of Alan for him.

I would be surprised if this Okoampa guy hasn't been promised the position of "PROPAGANDA MINISTER" (Presidential Spokesperson) in future Akufo-Addo gov't. To him tribal affiliation comes first before national unity.

Other people are different from you. Their interest and views may be contrary to yours. But, that does not mean you should insult them. If you think you have better political ideas, what you have to do is to persuade the public you have better ideas. I would not be commenting, if I have not read you over and over with tribal hatred and insults.
Stop your tribalism. See some light!
