Would you say those were also barking and frothing at their mouths like bulldogs? If no, why not?
You see, when you guys do something for your convenience it is okay. But when others do the same thing for their convenience, you descend on them with all arsenals you can muster. Why is that? If you believe in the democracy that NPP, in particular, has been claiming to be champion of in Ghana for years, why would resort to such tactic to suppress genuine contest?
Even if the idea of NPP winning the elections in 2016 were your sole goal, in spite of who wins the Party's Flagbearer, then what you are doing is undermining that goal.
Again, if you think only Akufo-Addo has to be supported by the Party to become the Flagbearer because only he can beat NDC's Mahama in the next Elections, then, again, you are darn wrong. You would be putting all your eggs in one leaky basket.
By the time the Electioneering Campaign heats up to the maximum by the end of 2015, Akufo-Addo would have been damaged so much that NPP would regret having chosen him to contest the Presidency on its behalf. It would be better to choose an new candidate while there is still time to do so.
The manner in which Akufo-Addo supporters disparaged the likes of Dr. Frimpong Boateng, Dr. Konadu Apraku, Dr. Wireko-Brobbey, and recently, Dr. Anane and Kwadwo Mpiani, among other prominent well-meaning NPP leaders, he has dug a deeper hole to sink in, and it would be almost impossible to crawl out of it to make any significant improvement on his previous performance at the General Elections.
What many of Nana's supporters initially attempted to do was riding the crest of the Supreme Court protestation he led to crown him as the next President. But strictly speaking, that SC protest ended in a fiasco. Period! Akufo-Addo did not win his ultimate goal in that petition. He lost.
The only good thing that could have been salvaged from the SC Petition to give NPP a better shot at taking back the Presidency was capitalizing on the sympathetic goodwill the Nation had developed from the poor EC job at collating the Results of the Elections. But that sympathy should have been shared by the whole Party and not packaged by Jake and his corrupt cohorts for a gift to Akufo-Addo as unopposed candidate, without the prior consensus of the Party leadership.
So, stop insulting Okatakyie and find a better way to achieve your Akufo-Addo-centered goal. Okatakyie have shown not to be a supporter of Akufo-Addo's Presidential bid. But he never insulted him personally, like many of your have been insulting Alan and former President Kufuor, and would never have backed off from the NPP-centered agenda to reclaim the Flagstaff House, even if his favorite candidate, Alan, was dropped. It is these insults that might cause him and others like him to do just that.
