Partisan politics has been the bane of the problems we are currently facing, yet we shoot down any good advice or suggestion from anyone 'across the line', not mention the fact that some of us even refuse to admit that there's a problem in the first place.

Mr James Y,the sender of the tweet from the American Embassy handle sounds more patriotic and more ghanaian than your sorry self because he/she shares the agonies, pains, disappointments and frustrations of millions of the majority of ghanaians. That one, lone tweet spoke the truth, and the minds of millions of the silent majority of ghanaians who have no twitter account. If from the onset, we in the sweltering tropical heat at the receiving end of poor economic policies had closed our ranks and spoken with one voice as ghanaians and helped to hold the president's feet to the fire, there would have been no need for such tweet from the President nor the re-tweet from the American Embassy staffer. It's your arrant type of political sycophancy and blind partisan support that has fostered ineptitude, incompetence, laziness and corruptIion.Over time, these have festered unchecked and have brought the potentially rich nation to the brink of disaster. The writer of the article deserves a thank you comment not a slap in the face "nonsense" retort.

As for the 25 million Ghanaians you mention, how many of them understand the intricacies of economics and politics of a nation? How many of these 25 million who vote a politician into power do so because they understand the policies being propounded? How many vote on tribal basis or because they like the look of somebody? If the US can give aid and loans to help these 25 million in someway what's wrong with one errant tweet which may in the long run help these poor souls if corrupt politicians are made aware that the electorate don't trust their insincere "tweets"?

Europeans left Europe for Africa therefore they were housed and given several benefits to make life comfortable for them in the hot and mosquito infested Africa. Fast forward to 2014, 57 years on, our politicians are housed as soon as they are elected because they were sleeping in trees before their appointments, they have to be given cars because they all rode bicycles before appointment, the list goes on and on. Thank you, Mr Bukarson. You have said what needs to be said, as did the "errant tweeter" of the US Embassy. The so-called supporters around the president should speak the truth to him -- his administration is failing this country! His credibility is low, and until he acknowledges the mess and begin to take decisions that benefit the majority of people in this country, he cannot mobilize the population around his objectives. By the way, I find that he spends too much of the taxpayer's money doing propaganda on the web. He and his team should spend more time and effort ensuring beneficial policies, effective services and value for money, and less on this desperate and futile promotion of their image.
