I remember the opposition venting their anger about the Chinese loan which people like Kojo T and co did all they can to paint the opposition as nation wreckers and now what?
We need commonsense when it comes to national debate.

This tells you how useless our parliament is. This also suggest that there is no way any president can succeed in Ghana when the opposition has majority in Parliament. We need rogues and maverick politicians like John McCain, a congressman in the US of A, who has cut a niche for himself for siding with his opponents in many Congressional debates. The P.H.D type of politics on the part of the minority and the majority bulldozing their way to pass dubious deals must stop if members of the house may deserve any respect from the general public. Atleast i expected the Trokosi Speaker to have dignified and redeemed himself for giving the minority some kind of backing but hey, 'once a trokosi always a Trokosi. Parliament is part of the reason why Ghana’s ecomini is melting down.

The majority in Ghana's Legislature in the 4th Republic is always an appendix of the Executive. They support and approve wholeheartedly, whatever the Executive presents to the Legislature. It happened under Rwalings, Kufuor, Mills and still happening under Mahama.
One would have expected that the Mahama government would have learnt its lessons from the STX fiasco and the ongoing problems with the $3 billion Chinese loan. Unfortunately, this is not a government competent enough to learn from past mistakes. That loan was rushed through and approved by the majority despite very serious concerns raised by the minority. Three years later these concerns have have come back to haunt the government.
After paying the fee on the $3 billion to whoever arranged the loan, the government is now contemplating negotiating with the Chinese to reduce the loan to $1.5 billion. Will the government go back to claim a 50% reduction in the fee paid to those who arranged the loan facility? Is that not waste and financial loss to the state.
Mahama and his government have shown time and time again and beyond any reasonable doubt that they are only interested in making money. They have no clue how to resolve the economic mess they created apart from blaming the global economic situation that has nothing to do with their mismanagement which caused the mess.

Kofi, the $3 billion Chinese loan was approved under Mills administration. Mahama just came to do the follow up.

The money for equipping the Ghana Armed Forces for our domestic defense must be raised internally through some form of taxation, while the UN bear the responsibility of funding our peace keeping effort. We must never depend on a loan to keep our armed forces in shape.

If yes, then I think he should rather be congratulated becasue it is not easy for a party member to take on his own party. It never happens. I remember former president Kufour said, he was not going to investigate corruptions in his government because according to him, it would destroy his government. Let is rather congratulate Dr. Bokor and not insult him. Good day.

No matter what Bokor writes he can never convince even a fly that he is an objective Ghanaian not tainted by the dark lenses of tribalism and ethnocentric consideration. In his last write up, he condemned those who are accusing the president of incompetence and corruption. Is this not one clear example of the corrupt nature of the NDC and Mahama to whom he declared his unflinching support. This loan is one avenue for corruption of which the president cannot absolve himself, and yet you indicated in your last Epistle that you support him no matter what In your last epistle you indicated that you and your family know who the president is. So now do you also know who a corrupt president is? If this loan is tainted as you claim whose duty it is the clean it? Is it not the president, and how can he do it when he is neck deep in the whole scandal?.As I said Bokor does not impress any one no matter what he says today simply because of what he said yesterday. We can see an objective mind from the distance. Sometimes, I´m inclined to believe that democracy is rather a drain on our resources, and the easy way to steal government money and make people rich. If really what the writer has said is true, then the loan has got to be looked into for the second time. There is no sense in this arrangement to say the least. It is very sad that in our part of the world and the type of democracy we practice, party takes precedents over country. In a civilise and serious country, majority members would join hands with the minority to defeat this bogus and criminal motions, but in our case, it would not happen. And at the tail end, it is the ordinary man who suffers the recklessness of these people.
Honestly, Mahama is fast becoming a big joke and a danger to the future of this country and the earlier something is done by means of democratically booting him out of power, the better for the future of this country. I don´t want to talk about the so called Chinese loan that is another serious issue altogether. My heart bleeds when I hear these things. Do we have any other country apart from Ghana!
The Ghana Armed Forces is the least paid contigent on peace keeping missions all over the world. I know this because I have served in the military for 22 good years and have served on several peace keeping missions. So the question is, why can´t the revenue derived from such operations be used to equip the military? Surely, somebody out there, both within the Armed Forces setup and his civilian counterpacts are up to something and Mahama is seating down unconcerned. We have a long way to go in this country. I don´t wish for anything nasty in this country but should it happen, it would be inferno. For how long would this continue unchecked?
