I think, the Americans should mine their affair at home. The Americans have a profound social problems in their country than our country Ghana. The Guns culture in America is the worse of it kind in the world. Why should spend more money to research about the culture in his country. Ghana is not America, Ghana is capable of dealing with cultural believe in country. it is not up to Americans to solve our social problems.

Yes, American Officialdom might be better off to finally remove the multiple beams from their own eyes, first.
I also welcome sincere help, but foreign forces (especially governments and big corporations) usually have their own agendas in the background, as history clearly shows.
For example, much of the "aide" to build infrastructure was clearly aimed at providing access via road or train to the harbours, to enable the transport of African resources (gold, timber, agricultural products...) to the industries abroad, who in turn process the raw resources into value-enhanced finished products, that they sell back more expensively to the Africans.
This old system of exploitation is still in place.
To hide this dependence upon the exploitation of African resources and cheap labour from the African manpower, the US, Europeans and other industrialised nations need good PR to appear as purely benign benefactors (i.e. hypocritical alibis, for which they often cynically use sincerely motivated citizens of their own countries, who really try to offer assistance under personal sacrifices), so they often use the guise of philanthropy and "responsibility to protect (R2P)", to hide their deeper intentions.
I am also from abroad, but I live in rural Ghana far from Accra in very simple accommodation, without walls around our flat, with my Ghanaian family, and I have since long time been aware about the "post-colonial" system, so my advice is sincere, first-hand and not remote patronisation with ulterior motives.

At the root of the problem seems to be the ignorance about logical causes of diseases and disasters, resulting in the of blaming of others on every whim.
Many times the problems' cause can be traced back to one's own mistakes or natural causes, but for many it is too painful to examine their own lives, so most prefer to point their fingers at others (psychological Projection & Scapegoating), instead of blaming themselves or natural causes.
Even for educated persons, the first reflex is often still to shift blame and responsibility away from ourselves. Nearly no-one finds it easy to admit mistakes or to take up responsibility for solving problems in one's own hands.
One practical example are the widespread stomach-problems in Ghana. Many don't know anything about bacteria and other pathogens and e.g. the important function of soap to wash their hands (e.g. before pounding fufuo), but when they get sick, they often blame "curses" and suspect destiny being hard on them.
So education about empirically proven links of cause and effect and wealth-building = poverty eradication are keys to solve the problems.
That will also distance them from the often still excessive influence of "leaders" (chiefs, priests etc.) and help them to overcome destructive, irrational belief systems and over-dependence on their immediate community (clan etc.).
