Though there may be no proof to support this claim, let us for the sake of this discourse accept this to be true. This however leave me wondering how it is possible for a significant proportion of believers in the Islamic faith to consistently "misinterprete" over the course of centuries your holy text and use violent means to carry across their message. On tranquility, anyone with the slightest understanding of geopolitics simply has to cross reference states with a significant muslim population with civil unrest, and the claim won't hold after that analysis.
On your claim that Islam is a religion of justice, I would like to draw your attention to the status of women in countries where Islam is enshrined in the constitution. Also, if justice to you carries the same meaning as it does in most dictionaries I know, I would be pleased if you could clarify your position on how non-muslims are regarded before the law in "Islamic" states in comparison to the treatment of muslims before the law in secular states around the world.
As to your reference to there being "no compulsion" in religion, I would be pleased if you could clearly state what the experience of any muslim would be if he decided today to be an atheist. Indeed there is the story of a citizen of a Far Eastern country who was accidentally labelled muslim on his national identification at birth who is going through quite the ordeal to have this reversed. I also find interesting your reference to the spread of Islam from the east to the west, north and south. I hope we are not being revisionist about history here as it is clearly documented how at least in Europe Islam gained a foothold through military campaigns. In the Far East, countries like Malaysia have resorted to legal tussles over the use of words by non-muslims. You may take a look at recent and not-so recent rulings by the legal system in Malaysia concerning publications of the public church, children's books by Sidang Injil Borneo and recordings on CDs.
By no means is this response meant to stir anti-Islamic feelings but to stimulate open intellectual debate on the interaction of Islam with the world. Thank you.

This title is so repulsive to Allah that he even resorted to outright cursing in one of the suras in the Koran:
. . .The Christians call Christ the Son of God. That is a saying from their mouth. [In this] they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be upon them . . (Surat attaubah, 30).
If Allah is really the Rahman Rahim (i.e. the Beneficent, the Merciful) why doesn't he wish that the "blasphemous" Christians repent?
This Allah resorts to outright cursing? Yet in the Bible, God has to bear with Satan until the appointed time. Why can't Allah bear with Christians? At this point, one is forced to ask: who is this Allah that has to resort cursing those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Could he be the same God that spoke in the Bible? If the Bible and the Koran had the same author, would they not definitely speak the same thing?
It does not mean God married a wife and begat Jesus in the usual biological process, as the Koranic Allah declares. Jesus is the unique Son of God in a spiritual sense. Because of the marvelous love the Bible God has towards sinners, He came down to us in the person of Jesus Christ. He became known to us as God's Son and He came to save us from our sins.
"And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory" (1 Timothy 3:16).
Muslims cannot imagine God loving sinners to the extent of coming down personally, as the Son, to save them. To Muslims this is evidence of polytheism, because they are taught in the Koran that Allah does not love sinners (Surah 2:190). This is repeated twenty four times in the Koran for emphasis. That Allah does not love unbelievers (Surah 3:31) and that he has even blocked their ears, sealed their hearts and blindfolded their eyes (Surah 2:6-7). All these are in direct opposition to Bible teachings which instruct that:
"God commended His love towards us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us" (Roman 5:8)
The central theme of the Bible is this:
"For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16)
Are you a sinner? You know down in your heart that you are. You also know in your heart that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. But in spite of all your sins, the Bible God loves you and has made provision for your salvation through His perfect sacrifice, the shed blood of Jesus, His only Son.

besides the bible has some of these controversial verses so don't make it sound as if all is well. Read 1Samuel 15:3 which says (This is what the Lord Almighty says... ‘Now go and strike Amalek and devote to destruction all that they have. Do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.) “Do not allow a sorceress to live.” (Exodus 22:18). There are hundred's of such verses in the bible.
The point am making is, don't condermn anyone's faith just because an individual or group of people are bad. There are bad guys in most of this religion. If u think Islamic crimes are more frequent it depends on which part of the planet you are. Come to the US, count all the murder cases that happens everyday and see how many muslim names you hear. I encourage people to honestly take time to research and make bold decisions for themselves without any fear of man.
We would all die, one day, but after that fateful day we have an account to give.
Jesus Christ, himself, barely about 2000 years ago, attested to the Truthfulness of the Old Testament writings; He read the Scriptures in the Synagogues, quoted from the very Scriptures handed down from generations, starting from the writings of the Prophet Moses through to the book of Malachi.
The new Testament followed suit(they were completed by 100 AD). The NT attests to the OT that all the inspired writings of the Jewish Prophets which were all pointing to Christ, has indeed come to pass. Jesus Christ attested to this Truth, (see the book of Luke)
It is worthy of note that Salvation is of the Jew; the saving justice of God has come through the instrumentality of the Jews, in general, who were the custodians of the ORACLES of God. Particularly, Salvation has come through the person of Jesus Christ, the Son Of God, according to the promises of God, in the OT.
In the Bible(a collection of the Jewish Prophetic writings), the expressions, "The Covenant God of Israel", "The God of Israel" or simply "God" are used interchangeably in the OT It was and is to affirm the covenant relationship that God have with the Jews.
Actually, the covenant began with Abraham. God once, told Abraham that it was by means of Isaac, that his name( Abraham) would be known/remembered among the nations of the earth.
And it has definitely been the case because when we talk about the custodians of the Scriptures, we are in effect talking about a nation (Jacob ->Israel) that descended from Isaac who was the Son of Abraham.
Infact, a fulfillment of God's promise made to Abraham, saying "By means of you(Abraham), the whole world would be blessed" is realized through Christ Jesus.
The line of blessing is through Isaac->Jacob/Israel ... and eventually to Jesus Christ (Please, read the genealogy of Jesus Christ in the book of Mathew)
In the Old Testament, we see or read about the promises of God, all these promises have become "Ye and Amen in Christ Jesus", according to the book of Revelation.
The same book tells us that Satan is the one deceiving the entire inhabited earth. Satan blinds(spiritually) people from coming to the Salvation knowledge of God.
The Scriptures says, God is able to save, even to the uttermost, those who come to him through Christ Jesus.
It means that a person at the verge of death in the hospital can be led to Christ through confession of faith.
God is indeed Gracious and Merciful. However, his Merci fulness Graciousness, goodness, wisdom, power, love and every good and perfect thing from him are are actuated in our lives through Christ Jesus.
Even in our ignorance, He still sustains our breath. The ability to understand the Scriptures is not above us, so act and act quickly for the days are evil. The Holy Spirit will always guide us into the Truth, if we sincerely approach God.
Remember, also that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who takes away the sins of the world. All things were created through HIM(Christ) and for HIM(Christ), and he has commanded humanity to respond to his Call and get baptized.
He has commanded us to honor HIM, even as we honor the Father. The genuine question is, how do we honor him, if we do not heed to his sayings?
We should not let friends deter us from investigating the Truth, for each of us came alone and we will pass away at our own respective times.

2. Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace.
Each and every human being in this world is not in favour of maintaining peace and
harmony. There are many, who would disrupt it for their own vested interests.
Sometimes force has to be used to maintain peace. It is precisely for this reason that
we have the police who use force against criminals and anti-social elements to
maintain peace in the country. Islam promotes peace. At the same time, Islam
exhorts it followers to fight where there is oppression. The fight against oppression
may, at times, require the use of force. In Islam force can only be used to promote
peace and justice.

The best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword is given by
the noted historian De Lacy O’Leary in the book “Islam at the cross road” (Page 8):
“History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping
through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races
is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.”
4. Muslims ruled Spain for 800 years.
Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims in Spain never used the sword
to force the people to convert. Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and
wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give
the adhan , that is the call for prayers.
5. 14 million Arabs are Coptic Christians.
Muslims were the lords of Arabia for 1400 years. For a few years the British ruled,
and for a few years the French ruled. Overall, the Muslims ruled Arabia for 1400
years. Yet today, there are 14 million Arabs who are Coptic Christians i.e. Christians
since generations. If the Muslims had used the sword there would not have been a
single Arab who would have remained a Christian.
6. More than 80% non-Muslims in India.
The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the
power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than
80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are
bearing witness today that Islam was not spread by the sword.
7. Indonesia and Malaysia.
Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The
majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, “Which Muslim army went
to Indonesia and Malaysia?”
8. East Coast of Africa.
Similarly, Islam has spread rapidly on the East Coast of Africa. One may again ask, if
Islam was spread by the sword, “Which Muslim army went to the East Coast of
Africa?”
9. Thomas Carlyle.
The famous historian, Thomas Carlyle, in his book “Heroes and Hero worship”, refers
to this misconception about the spread of Islam: “The sword indeed, but where will
you get your sword? Every new opinion, at its starting is precisely in a minority of
one. In one man’s head alone. There it dwells as yet. One man alone of the whole
world believes it, there is one man against all men. That he takes a sword and try to
propagate with that, will do little for him. You must get your sword! On the whole, a
thing will propagate itself as it can.”
10. No compulsion in religion.
With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to
spread Islam because the Qur’an says in the following verse:
“Let there be no compulsion in religion:
Truth stands out clear from error”
[Al-Qur’an 2:256]
11. Sword of the Intellect.
It is the sword of intellect. The sword that conquers the hearts and minds of people.
The Qur’an says in Surah Nahl, chapter 16 verse 125:
“Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord
with wisdom and beautiful preaching;
and argue with them in ways that are
best and most gracious.”
Al-Qur’an 16:125]
12. Increase in the world religions from 1934 to 1984.
An article in Reader’s Digest ‘Almanac’, year book 1986, gave the statistics of the
increase of percentage of the major religions of the world in half a century from
1934 to 1984. This article also appeared in ‘The Plain Truth’ magazine. At the top was
Islam, which increased by 235%, and Christianity had increased only by 47%. May
one ask, which war took place in this century which converted millions of people to
Islam?
13. Islam is the fastest growing religion in America and Europe.
Today the fastest growing religion in America is Islam. The fastest growing religion in
Europe in Islam. Which sword is forcing people in the West to accept Islam in such
large numbers?

Submitting to God, simply means, submitting to the Lordship and authority of Christ Jesus, the Son of the living God.
The Jews were mandated to submit to God/the God of Israel/the covenant God of Israel. And all the Prophets of God(of Israel) who submitted to God, wrote about the coming of Christ, each of the writings being inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Infact, what inspires prophesying is to the bearing witness to Christ Jesus. In other words the bearing witness to Christ Jesus is the spirit of Prophecy. Jesus Christ is the WORD of God who became flesh, and dwelt among humanity, to atone for the sins of the world, so that mankind could be reconciled back to God, as adopted children. Jesus Christ, indeed came in the volume of the Scriptures written about HIM.
The influences of the faithful Jews across the world, especially, Arab lands(because of close proximity) cannot be over emphasized.
Through the ministry of the Jewish Prophets who found themselves in the Arab lands, Arab Kings and many others in authority acknowledged the power and deeds of God(of Israel) through the Prophets- Moses(Egypt, Arabia(especially the Medianites)), Daniel(Babylon(Iraq), Medo Persia), Jonah(Assyria) etc.
The tomb of Jonah is in Mosul(Iraq), and has become a shrine for many.
Jesus Christ during his ministry likened his death and resurrection to the experiences of Jonah in the belly of the great fish.
The aforementioned Jewish prophets and a few others were and are known by the Arabs and beyond. The influences of other prophets such as David, Solomon etc transcended beyond Israel, and therefore are also acknowledged as such(Prophets) by Arabs, and of course, the Patriarchs such as Noah, Abraham Isaac, Jacob and Joseph are all well known as Prophets, by many.
In summary, the submission of the faithful Jews(and others who believed in the God of Israel) was visible across the Arab lands and beyond, where apparently oral knowledge and practice of portions of OT would have been an integral part of their cultures.
The Prophet Daniel and co. left a legacy in the East, that stood for ages; the legacy/knowledge that a star would rise up, out of Jacob(a prophecy about Christ Jesus in the book of Numbers), hence the visit of the three wise men from the East Please read PSALM 2.
Jesus Christ came to the household of Israel, so that the Jews who were/are of the custodians of the ORACLES of God would eventually bear record to HIM to the world. The fig tree that Jesus cursed was a symbolic representation of Israel's (as a nation) unreadiness to bear fruit which merited repentance. Nevertheless, Jesus rejection and crucifixion and hence his death and atonement and resurrection was within the purpose and plan of God. It is the sin of the world that sent Christ to the cross, so that our sins could be paid for.
Please, google a timeline concerning the Ministry of Christ, his atonement as prophesied by the Prophet Daniel.
It is the mandate of God that we all come to HIM through Christ Jesus. We cannot come to him in our own term.
Please read Acts Chapters 8 and 10.
In these Chapters, we see how devout adherents(eg Ethiopian and Italian) to the Jewish worship(believed in the laws of Moses and ordinances, ablution , sacrifices, etc) were instructed by apostles, through the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit, to receive Christ as their savior.
Note also how angels were involved in the assignments. Angels minister(serve) to those who are heirs of Salvation.
Jesus command prior to his ascension: "Go into the world and preach the Good News. Whoever believes should be Baptized in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and lo I am with you always".
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ promised the Holy Spirit unto the apostles and believers to empower them to preach effectively. See Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit came and many gave their life to Christ Jesus on the day of Pentecost, an evidence to many nationalities that had gathered in Jerusalem.
The Holy Spirit guides us into the Truth. He helps us to discern what is of God and what is not of HIM, through the knowledge of God.
There cannot be any compromise about that, for it is Life and death. "I have set before you, this day, Life and death, choose Life that you may live", says the LORD.
Jesus Christ, through whom the world came into existence, says "I am the Way, the Truth and Life, no one comes to the Father except by/through/by means of me".
Paul, by inspiration wrote "If anyone comes to you to present a Jesus which is different from whom we have received, even an angel from above, let him be accursed".
The question is, what are you waiting for, see havocs being committed in the world all over. Indeed, the whole world is groaning for the expectations of the sons of God.

You see, when you acknowledge that God is a covenant God, and that he established his covenant with a
nation through whom Prophets did prophesy about Christ, in exact details including when and where He would be born, the beginning of his Ministry, the exact time of his crucifixion and resurrection and the meaning of his atonement for humanity etc., it says it all.
Please google "Messiah claimant", you will see many that claimed to be Messiahs. The one in Wikipedia is not an exhaustive list, nevertheless it is enough for our consideration.
Imagine, however, the numerous religious movements that have sprang up under the leadership of such claimants. Remember, there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death. Infact, broad is the way that leads to destruction, and narrow is the way that leads to Life.
Our Lord Jesus Christ warned us to take heed, else we be deceived.
In the book of Revelation, Jesus Christ introduced himself, saying, I was once dead, but alive for ever more.
It is my hope that you would be challenged to investigate what you believe in, for it is a serious matter to believe in claims contrary to what the creator of the universe has said concerning his Son Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit bearing witness to all these, even through the Prophetic writings of the Jewish Prophets.
I encourage you to look for a living Church, and commit yourself to a Fellowship, personal Bible readings, prayers. There are also good materials in Church Libraries that can be of benefit to you.
I encourage believers in Christ to love and support, in any way possible individuals who are sincerely and diligently searching for the Truth, for we have all, once been in darkness before coming to the glorious light of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
