Alan was stupid in seeking that WTO job. He was not qualified for it and there were people seeking it who were far more qualified and more experienced than he was. Moreover, Alan couldn't even get the African vote since the continent didn't want Ghana to get that job because we already had other jobs of that nature. The African diplomatic community even put out that Ghana was being greedy - wanting more than its fair share of the international jobs.
But Alan, he was a greedy guy. He was flushed out even before the voting proper begun. He didn't make the cut and now he wants to position himself for something big again domestically.
Bawumia may be a good economist but not an experienced politician. He is not even political material. He may not be a good leader. What Ghana needs is a good strong leader, not a good economist! Bawumia can/may give good economic advice but not necessarily be able to supervise its implementation. And it's not just about economic policy. It's more than that...

Nana Akufo Addo then only 35 years of age in 1979, not only counselled UNC to campaign for Dr. Limann, he ensured that UNC followers voted for Dr. Limann when Mr. Victor Owusu faced Dr. Limann in the 2nd run of the 1979 presidential election. Therefore, Nana Akufo Addo's instrumentality caused the late Ashanti legal luninary, Victor Owusu the presidency. The defeat is still fresh AMONG THE ASHANTIS!
