We need transparency in the oil as well as other sectors of the economy.
Agreements and contracts should be made public for scrutiny.
We must create proper channels for the youth to contribute to national issues.

Ghana, Rise up!! Wake up!! In this situation in which we find ourselves today, it would even be unwise for Nana Addo/NPP to talk about free SHS if he is in power today. Two hundred SHS are not the nation's priority even though building 200 SHS is good. How can we look on to see Mahama waste our little resources on 200 SHS while we all know that he cannot effectively complete this project. We have no water , electricity, roads, food, and good healthcare (basic amenities. We have not been able to bring quality to our existing SHS why do we continue building more low quality SHS? Only God knows the type of SHS Mahama is going to put up. I learned in this article that they are waiting for support from the World Bank Which means, the they have not even received a dollar from the World Bank but they are cutting sod just in the name of politics and propaganda.

It is good for the Youth to be involved in governance and policy issues but ask yourself Madam/Auntie Elizabeth " what have the youth who were very very fortunate to be given Ministerial and Presidential appointments been able to accomplish for the nation apart from insults, arrogance, and siphoning of state resources to enrich themselves. For most of the Youth of today it is I/ME and not WE/US. If you want to be part of the OIL & GAS stuff, EDUCATE YOURSELF! Get on the internet or undertake serious research and empower yourself and stop yaabing.

Elizabeth,
Thanks for your concern and write up. I wonder how much you yourself know about the shocking deficit of knowledge about the oil sector and what's going on in Ghana among the grown-ups, not to mention the youth. Even PhD holders who have been advising the govt since 19 krebitihoho are clueless! Those who think they know have their mind-sets glued in the C19th! That's the mind-set behind the Petroleum Bill before the AG and soon to be put before Parliament.
They'd read my brother Efo Solomon Kwawukume's book on the subject and proclaim that that was not their area of specialisation and so couldn't make even a sensible, layman's judgement on what is in therein!
He has been trying to get the MPs to read his book and articles, by donating free copies to each one of them and distributing copies of his write-ups to them but ask anyone of them if they had bothered to read them!
When he tried to speak to the students at Legon, the SRC leadership demanded that he "contribute" to a project of theirs before they could allow him the platform to do so! Phew! That's the "youth" for you! They should be paying him to come and speak to them, considering his message.
I shall fwd you his two recent articles, last one published on spyghana already.
published.

Bcos of the tables, it is difficult to post them on Ghanaweb and modernghana. I am figuring out a way to overcome that technical difficulty.
