Is it really that airports ate to be built at Ho, Koforidua and Cape Coast? I am not sure but these are mad ideas which, as the writer is saying, are rooted in political self interest and perharps ethnocentricism

Are you serious? Does it not make sense for the government to create employment opportunities and reduce poverty and misery through public works such as the construction of a stadium in a place like Cape Coast "where poverty, misery and lack of employment opportunities abound"?

A stadium is not meant to be used for only soccer matches. It is supposed to be used for tracks and other sporting events. Some even have swimming pools to host swimming competitions. A stadium complex can include Basketball court, gymns and stores etc. With the number of schools in and around Cape Coast it could be suggested that Regional Sporting event should be organised more frequently . Regional Soccer GALA for the schools as well as local teams in the region should also be encouraged. What about Regional youth sport festivals.Everywhere in the world certain cities are well ahead of other in terms of brisk bussiness but that does not prevent the other cities from acquiring places for sporting and social events. Please amplify your thinking.

Is this employment you talking about sustainable? Why not use the money to refurbish the Saltpond ceramics or the Komenda sugar factory for the youth to get work? How many people are going to watch soccer matches there for them to get funds when the youth are unemployed? This is a big misplaced priority.Even if the stadium is left unattended to it will deteriorate and that will be waste of money. Are the schools you talking about going to do physical training there every day or what? Even if that is so, is the stadium the best place for that? I PITY GHANA.

"Seek ye first the economic kingdom and all other things will be added unto you".
Regardless of political stripe all ghanaians must be clear-eyed about promises of this nature especially when it's coming from desperate politicians whose sole purpose is to win elections and rule for the maximum eight years.
It does not make any economic sense to build a sports stadium in an impoverished environment where majority of the people live below the poverty line and can hardly afford one square meal a day or live hand to mouth. Look at the life you're living and ask yourself whether you deserve a job or a stadium. What is your priority, a job or a stadium? The answer may be both but which of the two must come first?
We may crave for certain things but first things must come first. How about building a first class mall for the people of Cape Coast under such deplorable economic circumstances? It looks like putting the cart before the horse. What the people need most is jobs, jobs, jobs for with money in their pockets they can afford all the luxuries of life including a seat at the sports stadium. In the USA when the economy takes a downward turn because manufacturing jobs have been shipped overseas the government takes a number of measures including the extension of tax benefits to companies who bring the jobs back and a stimulus package that puts money into the pockets of its middle class citizens. With money in their pockets the economy is given a life line and everyone is happy.
The government cannot provide a job for every citizen of Oguaa but it can create the enabling climate for rapid economic growth which would provide the much needed jobs and money in the citizens' pockets. This is not rocket science but common sense. What is the use of an expensive state of the art sports stadium when the people can't even afford to pay the lowest gate fee to watch sporting activities? Come on people! Be wise and don't let no politician take you for granted or a"fool". You don't need no white elephant in Cape Coast! You fool me once shame on you but you fool me twice shame on me. How many times must we be fooled by tricksters and fraudsters euphemized as politicians? You deserve better, my people. Don't be shortchanged by ambitious and wolves in sheep skin politicians.

So per your argument, and looking at the stadia project, which of the two is visionless, K4 NPP or Ama NDC? Is the investment yielding any benefit for all these regions?

Do you know something? The people criticising the projects are rather visionless. Why do you think people flock to Accra, Tema, etc for jobs? Do you think if there was no infrastructure there people would have established businesses there to employ people? Deliberate gov't policies and projects created the enabling environment for businesses and employments opportunities in other places. You would have said Tema did not deserve a motorway, harbour, etc at the time because Tema was a bush and impoverished. Same applies to Kumasi, Takoradi, etc. All other places have to be developed. SIMPLE!!!
