I follow Clement's postings and it is always full of lies decorated as the truth. If Busia / Afrifa abolished Free education, the Northern Scholarship sceme would not have been there by now. I am personally against wholesale Northern scholarship for any person from the North. It should be reserved for Northners who are poor and needy. Did people like President Mahama and his sibblings had to go to school for free because he is from the North? What about Bawumia? There are equally poor people from the south who cannot take their children to school. What about that? As at now there are many People from the North who are very, very rich but their kids go to school for free while people who are poor from the south do not get such benefits. Is that fair? If it is to be free for all, let it be for all and let us all pay an EDUCATION TAX to take care for that.
Clement should have given a very true picture of events that led to the overthrow of Nkrumah. Was Nkrumah going to establish an Utopian society where everybody will be equal in his Socialist ideas? Was Clement going to be equal Nkrumah's children as he portrays in his posting? Don't let us be hypocrites but admit that how many of the so called Socialists in Ghana own property in the Capitalists West and South Africa? It is the imposition of ideology that was foreign to the people of Ghana that was one of the reasons why when Nkrumah was overthrown, there was much jubilation in Ghana. Ghanaians had all along been property owning people for centuries and there was no way Socialism could be shoved down the throat of Ghanaians for long. James, I was not a baby when Nkrumah was kicked out.
Clement's account is so biased that I will never let my child or recommend his book(if he has written any) to anybody. Of the people who staged the 1966 coup, why is it that only Afrifa's name was mentioned. He partrays him as the architect of the coup. Has Clement thrown his history to the gutters? Does he remember the Police Officer Harley? What about Kotoka, Ankrah. Was Ankrah not a senior to Afrifa? Why was his name mentioned? I cannot see why Clement should have a rabid hatred for Afrifa when he was not the architect of the coup. If I want to say anything complimentary about Afrfa, It shall be how he helped that Ghana did not become like Cuba or North Korea. Afrifa has his dark side and was not an angel. I will not justify the excesses of the 1966 coup but Afrifa was not the head at that time. If Clement likes Socialism, he should migrate to Cuba or North Korea. Even China and Rusia have seen the importance of Capitalism. Cuba is also thawing up. Clement, tell the children the truth because there are some of us who know the truth and cannot be lied to.

My first advice some good man told me was do not quit a job if you have no new job.
Kotoka,Afifa and the anti-African crowd had no replacement or a workable substitute to the pro-Ghana spirit Nkrumah had carved for Ghanaians and when all was over, the result is here for all to see.
All Nkrumah libraries were burned down.
The last time an anti African burned down the biggest knowledge the blackman had put together was when Alexander of Macedonian-Greec invaded ancient Egypt and burned it down and was crowned "the great" by the anti-Black man Europeans.
The second time was 2012 when the wretched muslim fanatics invaded Mali and touched and burned 700 year manuscripts and mosques and tombs.
The minds of Africans has always been the battle field for those who are scared of a knowledgeable and assertive African therefore the first thing these anti-Africans do is to find a way to deny us knowledge.
As of today, Ghana has gone back 100 years.
There's no spirit of patriotism and no higher knowledge of arts, philosophy, creativity and culture.
If Kotoka,Afrifa,Ankrah, Harley and their Danquahs could have seen into the year 2000, I hope they would have rescinded their CIA plot and allow the Ghanaian to control his cutlass, matches, sugar, jute, textile, conbeef, electric bulb, ceramic, flour, shoe, kasamoma electronics, tire factories, the national Ghana airways and the black star shipping lines.
The say the devil you know is far better than the angel you don't even know if existed.
If the so-called dictator could run all the above industries with law and order, and the so-called democrats who seemed to have no clue but to run it down, whom would you trust to handle your affairs with the spirit of Ghana FIRST?

The above is only a rhetorical question. Your own post answers it. But I have two major questions for you and that tribal bigot of a cadre who put this useless article here:
1. If the NLM and the UP abolished free education in Ghana, how come the northern scholarship scheme continued and has given us a President today?
2. If the NPP as the descendant of the UP tradition are equally opposed to free education and Nkrumah's socialist policies, how come the NPP was the party that proposed extending free education to all Ghanaians and the NDC was the one opposing it; how come the NPP was the one that brought free maternal healthcare, NHIS, capitation grant, LEAP, etc. and the NDC is the one destroying these social interventions with corruption and incompetence?

His virtuperations on the UP tradition ,which draws it's support from mostly Asantes, is a misplaced pay back for what he perceives as the indignities the people from the north suffered at their hands . For example, they were the cocoa farm laborers who worked without pay, they carried the night soil, his people , the Dagartis were famous for clearing our streets of dead fowls, and dogs, for their meals, watchmen etc . One thing he has forgotten is that nobody raided the north to bring them to the south where they fared better that is why he still lives at Obuasi. He should be grateful for the magnanimity of the Akans.

To be sure, some of our Akan brethren, inclluding you Akadu on this forum, have not helped matters with their tribal tirades directed at Ewes and Northerners.
But the fact of the matter is that it took mostly Akan-led governments, from Nkrumah to Acheampong, to extend or maintain affirmative action for the North. Now that the Northern elites are in power, what are they doing for our brothers and sisters in the North? They have devised all sorts of schemes in the name of developing the North, while actually enriching themselves at the expense of the poor and fooling the poor masses by appointing a disproportionate number of Northern elites into government positions.

The NDC lacks strategy in governance and seeks to try to solve problems rather than preventing it ...you need to talk about what the government can do for the ordinary person. The traffic jams, resulting in low productivity, galamsey activities that are poisoning our waters, youth unemployment at 40 percent, institutional corruption gripping the nation and the list goes on.

The little I know and saw of the man is enough to convince willing ears to hear the story of Kwame Nkrumah. Despite his draconian style of governance he achieved a lot for the country Ghana. He was a benevolent dictator. The infrastructures he laid have been sustaining the country for long.
Anybody wishing for a Kotoka, Afrifa or a Rawlings must be living in a fool's paradise. To me it is therefore total rubbish to liken Mugabe to Nkrumah because they have nothing in common. Nkrumah improved greatly upon what he inherited from the colonial masters while Mugade laid to waste what he inherited from his colonial masters.

He didn't have a fraction of Nkrumah's wisdom but look at Abidjan now and you'd understand he did well, at least on development.
Houphouet-Boigny was reputed to have fed people to his crocs but no one calls him names we call Nkrumah whose achievements in early '60s as we have come to witness and acknowledge dwarfed those of all other West African leaders combined.

This crackhead Sangaparee is a very dangerous idiot. A lot of what he spews on the web is absolute trash. The allowance that Busia cancelled in 1970 was the "extra money" on top of the book allowance that was given to everybody else to "entice Northerners to stay on in education." Busia felt that with dwindling national resources, that extra money could be better invested in primary and seccondary school education in the north.
Some sensible Northerners like Abdulai (UST SRC President, Ibn Chambas, NUGS General Secretary at the time), privately supported this policy. Most of the Northerners in university at the time, just used this money to pay for holiday accommodation on campus, instead of travelling home "to promote education to their people!"
Afrifa had nothing whatsoever to do with this policy. This Sangaparee nincompoop didn't even bother to finish secondary school, inspite all the freebies that were available to him at Obuasi, including free uniforms and scholarships that were being awarded to children of miners by AGC at the time.
At least Afrifa submitted himself to a probe of his assets after he left office. Why doesn't he advise his murderer armed robber idol Rawlings to do the same? He spews out historical garbage directly translated from whatever langauge he speaks and some people think he is giving lessons in history!
