This our cedi, has been falling since the 90's and all these governments could not do anything about it falling year on and year on.
As you claim to be what you are, what advice do you give as a person to the gorvernment as a person to be able to save the cedi rather then what you saying now?
It seems we all know how to talk big and always try to condem the other but can't come to say if you put this and that toghter we will get this so let us try it.
It is because of you people or the people of your kind who have got the best of school among the lot still think backward by not trying to impart you education to we the lot who need to learn from you.
That is why we get these so called MEN OF GOD, if they really believe in thier heart there is one, taking advantage of those who really do not know anything apart from what these crooks preach to them.

There is something seriously wrong with the country with this jesus name and amen theories. What is striking about it that even if they have visited several developed countries they do not learn anything instead they think those countries developed through God. How could a pastor speak to a currency? Is it not insane? Bank of Ghana can instruct all forex exchange dealers to strictly adhered to the rules of governance by ensuring that currencies are changed at BoG rates. This is easy as enforcement officers could detect those who flout the rules. Licenses could be revoked as and when rules are broken. We should put certain measures in place in this country.

Ben, I acknowledge your pragmatic, economic and political analysis and comments on the said subject but you have to understand the Bishop and where he is coming from. I cannot discern what he said b'cos it is spiritual and those cannot be discrned from canal mind.
There are many instances of economic issues in the Bible from which the Bishop operates: During the Exodus the Israelites were starving and Moses sought the face of the Lord and manna came form heaven; when Jesus was confronted with the demand to pay tax to Caeser he commanded His disciple to catch a fish in the river from whose belly they had the cion to pay the tax. There are lot of economic issues in the Bible that were solved with God's intervention and these have been preserved for centuries for the benefit of those who believe. So as a spiritual leader if he has sought spiritual intervention to solve economic issues, I don't believe he has deviated. Afterall he operated within his calling. There are a bunch of people who are being paid with tax payers money to do that job and probably the Bishop might not have that level of academic credentials like you to advice the President and the team on those issues.
I just came from Ghana and I agree and share with you on all the issues comfronting Ghana and Africa at large.
Another possibility, what if behind close doors they discussed all these but weren't reported?

I have not been able to travel the length and breadth of Ghana so I cannot state that the massive amounts of borrowing have been used to improve the lot of Ghanaians, but I am willing to bet that the borrowing has not been used to improve the lot of the people. On the other hand, certain politicians have made dramatic gains in their assets. This incantation by this "Archbishop" is a bad joke and no one is laughing. I hardly ever have agreed with anything Tony Aidoo has ever said, but I agree with a comment he reportedly made in another article in this site, except this situation cannot offer even the 'comic relief' which Aidoo said. The condition for the mass of Ghanaians are bad and getting worse by the day. Ghanaians have been known for being "magicians" for a long time - living in circumstances and situations which are intolerable and managing to survive but the situation is getting to a breaking point. Ghanaians had a revolution to exorcise graft and corruption from their institutions, but that canker has come back into the society with a vengeance. Ben Ofosu-Appiah's analysis of the situation is real: Our massive government borrowing, our bad and declining unemployment situation, the macro economic environment which the government is unable or unwilling to correct, the overwhelming stench of graft and corruption which permeates every level of our society including the office of the president of our country, our national psychology of dependence, our insistence on copying everything bad that the Nigerians have done when oil began to flow into their country, the poisoning of the business environment and discouragement of the economic sector which actually manufactures or even produces things.
