General tendency to forget so soon, especially, when monetary and other material inducements are 'showered' on the voting public.
As the author has already alluded to,ex-MP Eric Amoateng will remain a 'political hero',his "cocaine" conviction, nothwithstanding! Only a few supporters of Bawumiah would feel betrayed, but as the popular Akan saying goes,"Y3nfa nutu hunu na 3ko Basel asore"! Lt`s just hope the American Attorneys did not separate future 'Prophet' Amoateng from most of his loot.

Why would you use this forum to spew such vitriol and hate? You must have been tempted by the anonymity a keyboard and screen offers you in your ramshackle room. You feel emboldened to hide behind your keyboard and malign people with your single-celled brain, right? Your write-up is embarrassingly subjective and seeks to paint a picture which puts a whole party in bad light. (At least that much is clear from your 'f**kticle'(f**king article) Remember the crime for which the said gentleman is serving time for is not exclusive to anyone political party and it affects all manner of people as a consequence. You must feel educated judging by your syntax and verbosity but please do not fool yourself! You do not look it, at least not from what you write. Your ulterior motive is screaming out of your words. Just be objective when you put words together for others to read. Since we do not know you, we can only judge you by your own words, IDIOT.

Akuffo Addo restored all property of one Amankwaa convicted of similar crime. When as a nation are we going to really stand up against successive governments supporting criminal and corrupt activities?
Virtually everybody in Ghana somehow believes to be wealthy(i.e. successful) you have to steal - engage in kalabule-type activity... for every service that you require in state institutions you have to pay bribe or nothing gets done...what sort of country are we living in?
Ponder over the negative effects of state (institutionally) sponsored/certified/condoned crime....

You should defend the Party as far the partisanship references the author made go. But, please, do not try to defend the indefensible truth of the crime Mr. Amoateng committed.
It is about time we showed greater concern for the degradation of our Nation's image by prominent national leaders. No one is infallible. That is understood. But we must do better in pushing our leaders to set good example for the rest of us to emulate.
While some of us might think we better leave Mr. Amoateng alone since he will have served his time and paid for his crime by the time he gets out of jail in 2014, we all need to be mindful of the impact his crime made on us, Ghanaians, in constant travels abroad. Ghanaians were further pushed into the midst of the most scrutinized travelers abroad.
As we all deserve a second chance, I can only expect that we do not deny Amoateng a chance to recover a successful life. But we should as well not receive him back with a red carpet. That would mean we endorse his criminal behavior.
Regarding Mr. Antobam's writing skills, I think he did very well in this piece. You may disagree with his opinion on Amoateng as narrated the article. But you cannot take away the good writing skills displayed by the Author. Deriding the Author as not good enough a scholar, based on this article, is a puerile reaction in showing your antagonism for his views.
Long Live Ghana!!!

It is sickening that on this very day, 31st December, which marked the anniversary of the misadventure that was PNDC, anyone with NDC sympathies will publish such an article. On a day that many are mourning their family members who were murdered out of inferiority complex and envy, an NDC hack has the courage to be spilling such garbage!
In this wise, may I ask when Adelaquaye is coming back? A party that placed a drug smuggler in charge of airport security is not ashamed to be beating the drug drum. You are no saint, NDC and do not attempt to paint yourself as such.
As John Mahama aptly put it, Ghanaians indeed have short memories. Otherwise who would have voted the NDC into power after the PNDC atrocities – murdering Judges, people disappearing and deliberately collapsing private businesses?
All these were done out of envy.
Today a lot of the PNDC operatives, who are now NDC, who have failed in their personal and professional lives, are among the nouveau riche of society. They now drive big and expensive cars and live in mansions. They are a bunch of phonies but Ghanaians have not sussed them out yet.
So on a day that many are coming out with resolutions to be of good behaviour and to contribute to national cohesion and hence progress, this misguided fellow has to spit out his anti-NPP sentiments and in the process impugn the person of President Kufuor. It is ENVY ENVY AND BASELESS ENVY. He is no more president of Ghana; you now have the baton. Deliver and let us see with your obscene corruption!

I thought this article was going to be used to condemn the presence of criminals and their prominence in Ghana politics. I rather see an opportunity for the writer to insult anything NPP. This , I believe does not help because it propagates insults since all parties have bad nuts. My advice to to writer is that, just as it hurts you so bad when your party leaders are insulted, in similar measure do others feel. I always wonder why people can't state their case without insults. They have choice adjectives for their opponents. Please edit your article by removing all those adjectives and see how it looks like. God bless Ghana.

If my people are sensible, they would take this piece seriously. If they really want to win the next coming elections, then they should give a careful thought to this article. Many NPP members don´t know that one of the many reasons why Ghaians voted against them was their drug issues. Why was Akufo Addo who was the Attorney General at the tine fightign for a bill to be passed to enable such a criminal like Amoateng to be brought back home to serve his sentence? This is the ma Akufo Addo who wants to be president of this country.NEVER! What about the diplomatic passports which he kept in his office illigally when he was the minister for foreign Affairs, which he shared among his relatives who are drug dealer, and were caught with the said passports? These are the criminals who still want to rule us.God forbid!
