By the way,who make up
the "independent Ghanaians" you refer to in the last paragraph of this ridiculous article? Presently, incumbents of the your own party are doing everything possible under the sun to prevent disenchanted grassroots members from getting a fair shot at the impending polling elections by being denied nominations forms. Aside this shameful conduct, only preferred voters are being invited to cast votes at crazy hours like 4:30 a.m. Please help put your own house in order before pushing
this hidden agenda of yours forward!

I am amazed that this matter would even attract the attention pof the Chief Justice and for a committee to be set up in the first place!!! This was a case of GOSSIP and tittle-tattle by a deputy minister who wanted to show her mates that she 'knew more than she actually did' in fact!!!
Any how, my view has always been that this matter should be a low key investigation preferably within government purely as a disciplinary matter, and for the lessons learned to be used to strengthen current terms of the ministerial code and to serve as a warning to other public servantsa dn governemtn appointees about the limits of their actions and utterances whilst in the employ of the executive (and indeed the jucidiary for that matter).
My impression is that the only reason the CJ had to take this decision to set up a committee was because the NPP for purely political reasons and MISCHIEF in my opinion, decidied to turn it into something it is clearly not - A POLITICAL SCANDAL. And somehow Otchere Darko thinks that 2 weeks is not enough to get over this nonsense?
Perhaps Otchere Darko would care to explain to us ordinary readers, commentators and pundits what his own motive is for thinking that this is serious enough a matter to merit any investigation at CJ level in the first place. Is it because the loud-mouthed Victoria Hammah made such outlandish and outrageous yet most remotely possible assertions?
Surely Otchere-Darko, you are not telling us that after all the deliberations and the proceedings which we all followed for 8 months, it simply took a case of Oye Lithur "meeting supreme court Justices on the Panel" (and presumably her influence and great powers of persuasion) to 'turn the tide' of justice in favour of the respondents?
First of all, that the SC case went on for so long was in my view unnecessary and wasteful. Secondly that any of the justices even voted in favour of the petitioners to me was not just a mystery, but a wrong ruling, given the nature of the case which when all is said and done, boiled down to the 9 justices' interpretation of articles in our constitution and related instruments.
If they knew all along that they were simply being asked to give their own personal interpetation of the constitution, having been served with all the paper work in the case and having clearly established that the accusations that you Otchere Darko and others had leveled against the NDC and the president from the word go about collusion with the Electoral Commission to defraud did not hold water, then why on earth did it take so long to arrive at such a 'straight forward' conclusion either way?
What do we hope to achieve by 'resurrecting what is now a dead case'? what does Otchere-Darko hope to achieve by having what clearly if a 'full judicial inquiry' if we are to follow his prescription for the work of the committee?
Why are people blinded by their political 'ne'er say die' attitude to the extent that they must "win at all costs" when it comes to disputes such as this one?
Now you have the nerve once again to attack and blame the judiciary because somehow you expect them ALWAYS to be on your side!!! That unfortunatley is part of our problem historically where people in the law field have somehow taken a position opposite to governments which are not of their particular liking or persuasion. It has carried on to this day and I am pleased that we now have lawyers who bgelong to all parties to try and provide some reasonable balance in the way legal arguments or the 'monopoly of intelligence' asnd 'ability' discourse takes place in Ghana.
Increasingly Otchere-Darko betrays to me his limited intelligence and understanding of the law to which he belongs. His myopic view of issues of justice, freedoms and how we run our business as a nation still worries me, and his blinded partisan approach to life itself is most frighteningly dangerous.
Sadly he seems to get away with contempt all the time and I wonder when anyone is ever going to pick this up and bring him to book for his apparent excesses.

Paul Amuna, you do not see it as a serious matter, when your government and the judiciary of the country are accused of criminal collusion. How silly is this thinking. Wise up.

This is as funny as it is sad. Where is the 'SMOKING GUN' in this case? Shall we revisit it after the committee's report to see who is really "SILLY" in this case?

I became more and more outraged as I read on. I had made my views known on the frivolous, time-wasting case already and so no recap is needed. In fact, I had shelved my intended [biting] review, in which I intended to roundly condemn the lousy way the NDC and EC lawyers handled the case, thus prolonging it and leaving room for some of the judges to rule in favour of the NPP too. Outrageous charade it was, beyond the circus I predicted it'd be!
Anyway, Victoria Hammah didn't say anything about Nana Oye Lithur going to bribe any judges. So what is all that twaddle about checking bank a/cs and what not? I noticed that he missed mentioning that the Asantehene should be invited to testify as to how he allegedly distributed the millions Mahama gave him and the date shouldn't fall on an Akwasidae!
I don't think I should waste more of my time commenting on this invitation to the CJ to investigate the judges through the back door. Otchere, you have disappointed me with this one. It is pristine bollocks!

Another concern of mine is why our CJ put in the position of setting up committees of inquiries.Shouldn't our Parliament be the governmental body to appoint independent counsels to head investigations of the kind we are facing? Sometimes I think our nation takes actions that compound our problems more than help resolve them.
Oh, as for Otchere Darko he never fails to betray where's coming from in his many musings in this forum. While he is at it,why didn't he request a year to five years period to cover all the trumped up possibilities that his wild imagination can cover, huh?
