I would most certainly NOT buy shares in this thoroughly mismanaged Ghana Inc.The growth curve of this lucklustre company has been almost flat to even going down at times while the growth curve of Singapore Inc and Malaysia Inc have been on an upward trajectory.I think my $100 invested in Ghana would have grown to a mere $130 while if i had invested in Singapore Inc i would have grown my $100 into $25000.
Its time to call this 57yr old Ghana experiment a failure and divide its 238,000 sq miles between its 25m cheated shareholders.

You are not a brave investor,go ahead and buy all the shares in company Ghana.Next you sack all the directors and top management staff who are the selfish politicians. These will happen when a revolution takes place in Ghana.

REMEMBER THE MOVIE: WHITE MEN CAN;T JUMP STARRING WESLEY SNIPES?
He said Africa has all the natural resources anyone could think of however, the citizens wallow in abject poverty because the leaders that are supposed to effectively utilise them for their
welfare are selfish and greedy....The Omanhen of Essikadu, Nana Kobina Nketsiah V says one major challenge dragging the development efforts of Africa is lack of leadership.
ALL THESE CORRUPT, USELESS SO CALLED LEADERS MUST BE SET ON FIRE AND BURNED ALIVE. BURN THEM ALL ALIVE OOOOOOOO TOM!
WICKED LEADERS! HOW CAN U SIT THERE AND ALLOW FOREIGNERS TO COME N OWN YOUR OWN SHIT. CAN YOU GO TO CHINA AND OWN CHINESE, INDIAN, LEBANESE PROPERTY, LAND JUST LIKE THAT?
WE ALL SAW HOW AA BOMBED AT AFCON13? WE ALL SAW HOW KESHIE BOMBED AT THE CONFED CUP. AA HAS ONLY WON 1 AWAY GAME SINCE HE TOOK OVER. I WISH I WAS MAKING THIS UP.
THE MANTLE OF A GOOD COACH/TEAM IS THE ABILITY TO WIN GAMES ON THE ROAD. WHY DO U THINK BRASIL PLAYS ALL/MOST OF ITS FRIENDLY GAMES ON THE ROAD? THESE ARE FACTS U 2 FOOLS ARE REFUSING TO
ACKNOWLEDGE. IF KESHIE, AFCON 13 WINNER CAN BOMB AT THE CONFED CUP TOURNEY. HOW MUCH MORE AA WHO PLACED 4TH AND HASNT EVEN MANAGED TO WIN MORE THAN 1 AWAY GAME AS COACH OF THE GSBTARS?
AA NEEDS BIG HELP. GET HIM A COACH WHO IS MORE ACCOMPLISHED THAN HIM. TO MAKE AA LOOK GOOD IN BRASIL.

There is another issue that does not seem to have been factored into the calculations - unpaid salaries and other arrears.
Also, since only about 50% of the grants promised by "development partners" for 2013 flowed in, the sensible to do would have been to assume that in 2014, only 50% of such inflows would be realised. If you do that (and that is almost certain to happen), the deficit will be higher than the GHC9bn that has been estimated.
The development partners are saying that government is not serious about fighting corruption, in reclaiming the monies that have been illegally and corruptly dished out to cronies.
What really bugs me is the fact that after nearly 60 years of independence, we have not been able to devise any sensible means of widening the tax net. In fact, if you factor in sleaze at government departments, tax collection agencies and spending institutions, Ghana's tax base is smaller today than it was in the 1930s. That is how low we have sunk!

Excellent piece. Thanks for your well written article with facts and also solutions to our problems. There's absolutely no one in government that applies "critical thinking" and that's why we are where we are now. Send a copy of this article to the finance minister and his ministry and I bet you they will not even read it to analyze what you've written.
Our so-called leaders are like "mentally challenged person" doing the same thing over and over and expecting to get a different result but it's not happening.
