Dear Friend,
I am Barrister Johnson Kuta, the Personal lawyer to late Mr. Michael Taylor, who was a contractor with gold company here in Lagos.
On December, 2008, my client and his family were perished in a crash but my client made a fixed deposit valued at US$10.5M) , and upon the maturity his bank started contacting him but no response. Consequently, the bank issued me a notice as his lawyer to provide the next of kin or have the account confiscated after 4 years as the law of this country
Since then I have made several inquiries to locate any of my clients extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful. Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over some years now, that is why I seek for your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased so that the proceeds of this account valued at $10.5 Million can be paid to you then we share the money together.
I know that you might be wondering why I have decided to trust you with this huge sum, I could have do the business alone but there is no way I can succeed without a foreign hand, that is why I seek for your assistance so we can share the benefit together.
I have all necessary legal documents that can be used to back up the claim on your behalf. All I require is your honest and maximum cooperation to enable us to see this deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.
Please get in touch with me through email or call me on the above phone number to enable me tell you the needed details so we can proceed and feel free to ask any question you may wish to ask.
Thanks and God bless you as I am expecting your urgent response.
Best regards,
Barrister, Johnson Kuta.

Man guilty in credit, debit card theft plot that targeted Tulsa McDonald's customers
A 19-year-old native of Ghana pleaded guilty Friday to taking part in a conspiracy in which account numbers were stolen from credit and debit cards used at a Tulsa McDonald's.
Godlive Johnathan Tetty-Mensah also pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft in connection with the plot, which he agreed caused a total loss of more than $51,000 to "many" victims.
A U.S. Secret Service affidavit indicates that about 282 credit or debit card numbers were found in a search of a laptop computer that was seized when Tetty-Mensah and three other men were arrested in Ponca City in October for allegedly trying to buy merchandise with counterfeit cards.
A majority of the debit card accounts had been used at the Tulsa McDonald's at 71st Street and Yale Avenue, the document says.
Tetty-Mensah; Daniel Yaw Jefferson, 21; Stanjulfran Geovester Mensah, 21; and Bismark Baah, 20, were accused in an April 3 indictment of taking part in a plot that lasted from August 2011 until Oct. 16, 2011.
Tetty-Mensah stated in his plea agreement that last August he and Jefferson approached an individual with the initials H.J. at the McDonald's and gave him a credit card reader - known as a "skimmer."
"Daniel Jefferson and I would meet with H.J., download the skimmed numbers to a laptop computer, and then take those numbers and use a credit card reader/writer to create counterfeit credit and debit cards," Tetty-Mensah stated in his plea agreement.
The former McDonald's employee, whose full name is not disclosed in court documents, skimmed numbers for three weeks and received $600, two laptop computers and a video game system for his efforts, the document says.
Tetty-Mensah stated in his Friday plea agreement that fraudulent purchases were made in Oklahoma, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Tennessee and Indiana as part of the conspiracy.
Baah pleaded guilty Monday to an aggravated identity theft charge. U.S. District Judge James Payne is scheduled to sentence both men July 30.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Souders said Friday that Baah faces a mandatory minimum sentence of two years, while Tetty-Mensah faces between two and seven years in prison.
Charges against Jefferson and Geovester Mensah are still pending.

GHANAIAN "SAKAWA" CRIMINAL "ENTERPRISE EXPOSED!
PUBLIC AWARENESS ADVISORY REGARDING ""SAKAWA" OR "ADVANCE FEE FRAUD" SCHEMES
SAKAWA AND SEKADRO Schemes frequently use the following tactics:
An individual or company receives a letter or fax from an alleged "official" representing a foreign government or agency;
An offer is made to transfer millions of dollars in "over invoiced contract" funds into your personal bank account;
You are encouraged to travel overseas to complete the transaction;
You are requested to provide blank company letterhead forms, banking account information, telephone/fax numbers;
You receive numerous documents with official looking stamps, seals and logo testifying to the authenticity of the proposal;
Eventually you must provide up-front or advance fees for various taxes, attorney fees, transaction fees or bribes;
Other forms of 4-1-9 schemes include: c.o.d. of goods or services, real estate ventures, purchases of crude oil at reduced prices, beneficiary of a will, recipient of an award and paper currency conversion.
If you have already lost funds in pursuit of the above described scheme, please contact the U.S. Secret Service in Washington, D.C. at 202-406-5850 or by e-mail.
Ghanaian "SAKAWA" Advance Fee Fraud Overview
The perpetrators of Advance Fee Fraud (AFF), known internationally as "4-1-9" , SAKAWA or SEKAKURO.
Unfortunately, there is a perception that no one is prone to enter into such an obviously suspicious relationship. However, a large number of victims are enticed into believing they have been singled out from the masses to share in multi-million dollar windfall profits for doing absolutely nothing. It is also a misconception that the victim's bank account is requested so the culprit can plunder it -- this is not the primary reason for the account request -- merely a signal they have hooked another victim.
In almost every case there is a sense of urgency;
The victim is enticed to travel to Ghanaian or a border country;
There are many forged official looking documents;
Most of the correspondence is handled by fax or through the mail;
Blank letterheads and invoices are requested from the victim along with the banking particulars;
Any number of Ghanaian fees are requested for processing the transaction with each fee purported to be the last required;
The confidential nature of the transaction is emphasized;
There are usually claims of strong ties to Ghanaians officials;
A Ghanaian residing in the U.S., London or other foreign venue may claim to be a clearing house bank for the Central Bank of Ghanaian;
Offices in legitimate government buildings appear to have been used by impostors posing as the real occupants or officials.
The most common forms of these fraudulent business proposals fall into seven main categories:
Disbursement of money from wills
Contract fraud (C.O.D. of goods or services)
Purchase of real estate
Conversion of hard currency
Transfer of funds from over invoiced contracts
Sale of crude oil at below market prices
The most prevalent and successful cases of Advance Fee Fraud is the fund transfer scam. In this scheme, a company or individual will typically receive an unsolicited letter by mail from a Ghanaian claiming to be a senior civil servant. In the letter, the Ghanaian will inform the recipient that he is seeking a reputable foreign company or individual into whose account he can deposit funds ranging from $10-$60 million that the Ghanaian government overpaid on some procurement contract.
The criminals obtain the names of potential victims from a variety of sources including trade journals, professional directories, newspapers, and commercial libraries. They do not target a single company, but rather send out mailings en masse. The sender declares that he is a senior civil servant in one of the Ghanaian Ministries, usually the Ghanaian National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC). The letters refer to investigations of previous contracts awarded by prior regimes alleging that many contracts were over invoiced. Rather than return the money to the government, they desire to transfer the money to a foreign account. The sums to be transferred average between $10,000,000 to $60,000,000 and the recipient is usually offered a commission up to 30 percent for assisting in the transfer.
Initially, the intended victim is instructed to provide company letterheads and pro forma invoicing that will be used to show completion of the contract. One of the reasons is to use the victim's letterhead to forge letters of recommendation to other victim companies and to seek out a travel visa from the American Embassy in Accra. The victim is told that the completed contracts will be submitted for approval to the Central Bank of Ghanaian. Upon approval, the funds will be remitted to an account supplied by the intended victim.
The goal of the criminal is to delude the target into thinking that he is being drawn into a very lucrative, albeit questionable, arrangement. The intended victim must be reassured and confident of the potential success of the deal. He will become the primary supporter of the scheme and willingly contribute a large amount of money when the deal is threatened. The term "when" is used because the con-within-the-con is the scheme will be threatened in order to persuade the victim to provide a large sum of money to save the venture.
The letter, while appearing transparent and even ridiculous to most, unfortunately is growing in its effectiveness. It sets the stage and is the opening round of a two-layered scheme or scheme within a scheme. The fraudster will eventually reach someone who, while skeptical, desperately wants the deal to be genuine.
Victims are almost always requested to travel to Ghanaian or a border country to complete a transaction. Individuals are often told that a visa will not be necessary to enter the country. The Ghanaian con artists may then bribe airport officials to pass the victims through Immigration and Customs. Because it is a serious offense in Ghanaian to enter without a valid visa, the victim's illegal entry may be used by the fraudsters as leverage to coerce the victims into releasing funds. Violence and threats of physical harm may be employed to further pressure victims. In June of 1995, an American was murdered in Accra, Ghana, while pursuing a 4-1-9 scam, and numerous other foreign nationals have been reported as missing.
Victims are often convinced of the authenticity of Advance Fee Fraud schemes by the forged or false documents bearing apparently official Ghanaian government letterhead, seals, as well as false letters of credit, payment schedules and bank drafts. The fraudster may establish the credibility of his contacts, and thereby his influence, by arranging a meeting between the victim and "government officials" in real or fake government offices.
In the next stage some alleged problem concerning the "inside man" will suddenly arise. An official will demand an up-front bribe or an unforeseen tax or fee to the Ghanaian government will have to be paid before the money can be transferred. These can include licensing fees, registration fees, and various forms of taxes and attorney fees. Normally each fee paid is described as the very last fee required. Invariably, oversights and errors in the deal are discovered by the Ghanaians, necessitating additional payments and allowing the scheme to be stretched out over many months.
Several reasons have been submitted why Ghanaian Advance Fee Fraud has undergone a dramatic increase in recent years. The explanations are as diverse as the types of schemes. The Ghanaian Government blames the growing problem on mass unemployment, extended family systems, a get rich quick syndrome, and, especially, the greed of foreigners.
Indications are that Advance Fee Fraud grosses hundreds of millions of dollars annually and the losses are continuing to escalate. In all likelihood, there are victims who do not report their losses to authorities due to either fear or embarrassment.
In response to this growing epidemic, the United States Secret Service established "Operation SAKAWA" designed to target Ghanaian Advance Fee Fraud on an international basis. The Financial Crimes Division of the Secret Service receives approximately 100 telephone calls from victims/potential victims and 300-500 pieces of related correspondence per day.
Secret Service agents have been assigned on a temporary basis to the American Embassy in Accra to address the problem in that arena. Agents have established liaison with Ghanaian officials, briefed other embassies on the widespread problem, and have assisted in the extrication of U.S. citizens in distress.
If you have been victimized by one of these schemes, please forward appropriate written documentation to the United States Secret Service, Financial Crimes Division, 950 H Street, NW, Washington, D.C. 20223, or telephone (202) 406-5850, or contact by e-mail.

Igbo Leaders Meet To Plot Strategy
From Jaiyeola Andrews in Asaba
The maiden edition of the Igbo leadesrship retreat organised by the Ohaneze took off yesterday with elder statesman, Chief Anthony Enahoro, restating the call for a national conference.
Enahoro who was a special guest at the retreat held in Asaba, the Delta State capital, said the national conference was the only way of resolving the major problems that had affected the growth of the nation.
The meeting which had in attendance Senate President Adophus Wabara, Imo State Governor Achike Udenwa, his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dr Sam Egwu, Justice Chukwu-difu Oputa, the Asagba of Asaba, Obi Prof Chike Edozien, prominent businessman, Chief Sunny Odogwu and scores of Igbo intellectuals, was the beginning of a new move to reposition the Igbo in the country, and at the same time reconcile all people of Igbo descent, both at home and in the Diaspora.
Wabara, addressing the meeting, said the final outcome of the novel course would remain a reference material for now and future Igbo concerns.
"A forum of this nature and of this magnitude has long been desired, especially at this time when there appears to be an increase in the consciousness and agitations for the Igbo man to rise and assume his pride of place in the polity of the nation," he said.
While calling for a rebirth of Ndigbo to enable them remain relevant in the nation's dynamic political arena, the Senate President said it was time the Igbo changed the way other Nigerians perceived them.
"We cannot afford to be continually seen as a people that lack a common focus or a race without the benefit of ideological illumination, or even organisational proficiency," he stated.
Wabara called for "a grilled reappraisal of the core Igbo values."
He said: "Why must it be the Igbos that top the list of 419 suspects? Why must it be the Igbo that are most frequently arrested for drug peddling? Why must it be the Igbos that will champion the manufacture and sale of fake and adulterated drugs.? These are anathemas that must be summarily condemned in every ramification," he noted.
He called on Ndigbo to put their house in order and join hands to work for the common good, particularly on the political playing field.
Wabara said: "A situation where every Igbo man would inordinately aspire to occupy the only position zoned to the Igbos does not speak well of our unity of purpose, neither does it buttress our organisational strength."

Even Brazil with all their excellence and quality coaches have on many occasions been eliminated from the early stages. In the same vein we can also with some added effort make it to the finals and possibly win the world cup. To do this, our boys need to be pumped up with a sense of historic purpose and accomplishment.
Many good teams with the best coaches from around the world will also be there but only one team will be able to lift the cup.
As the great Kwame Nkrumah said on the eve of the independence of Ghana in 1957, “...the new African is ready to fight his own battles and that the Black man is capable of managing his own affairs”. We should apply this motivation in our football aspirations.
Let us strive to show the world in the next World Cup or the one after or the one after that, that we can reach the very top of world football with the inspiration of Kwame Nkrumah who named our national team the Black Stars of Africa.

Look who is talking about being inward looking? I am still waiting for the day when I will read an article with a minimal amount of wisdom from this GHFUO character whether he is the original GHFUO or not, he always seems to be on the wrong side of common-sense. Why?
Cant you understand the simple logic of what BerylRichards is saying? To break it down to class 1 analysis for you to understand, he is simply saying that we (Ghanaians) should stop copying and living under the shadow and charity of others and that we should be proud and confident of ourselves before we can make any headway towards our aspirations. Is this one too, too difficult for you to digest? Aba!
If the term 'Brazil of Africa' was being used to describe our football prowess soon after independence when we were just recovering from hundreds of years of forced under-development and tyrannical oppression from imperialists, we could have been excused at the time. Today there is no excuse for some tro-ke-kpendwe (penny-half-penny) journalist to continue to stifle our pride under the banner of other peoples achievements.
Why are some of you people so happy to continue being subjective and slaves to others? Were you not also created in the image of God? If so, then begin to act the part and to prove it – at least in the area of football, instead of this lazy attitude of stealing the credits of others to enhance yourself.
If in defense of the idiotic journalist, you say that he only brought it up to make the story sweet, then both of you are born losers and masochists. He only succeeded in making his story sour - at least to sensible discerning people. We should be promoting and marketing Ghana instead of Brazil – at least in the area of football. We should begin to hear the Black Stars of Africa instead of the Brazilians of Africa. Nonsense!
The mentality of the two of you represent the kind of incomplete human beings that are so bereft of self-confidence and grey matter that you are only good to be used as menial slaves.
There was also another instance a few years ago when that schizophrenic wife-beating Black Stars player scored a goal in an international tournament and in celebrating his goal in front of all the cameras of the world media, he raised his jersey to expose not the national flag of Ghana but guess what, he raised his jersey to proudly reveal the Star of David of the state of Israel. I was devastated. But I have only recently come to understand after that wife-beating incident that that guy is a few cards short of a full deck.
With our politicians running riot and competing with each other on who can best destroy this country the shortest possible time, sports - and in particular football, leaves us with the only area left where we can enjoy some consolation and pride as Ghanaians. Lets keep our heads high in the area of sports and football and decontaminate all vermin infestation from that sector.
Lift High The Flag of Ghana!

I couldn’t agree more BerylRichards. It so disheartening to see that Africans still have to be imitations! There is no excuse whatsoever for this inferiority complex behavior. Michael Essien is Michael Essien and Lionel Messi is Lionel Messi. They are two different people with two different styles. If Messi is a demi god with exceptional skills to his nation, so is Michael Essien to Ghana. And until we learn to accept who we are and fight for our original place in the world, the world will always cheat us knowing that we don’t even value ourselves.

Bring your Brazilian two female parrots over to my house and I will put them with my two Ghanaian male talking parrots whom I taught to pray and read the bible. My Ghanaian parrots will teach your Brazilian parrots to stop saying that terrible phrase and your Brazilian parrots will learn to praise and worship." "Thank you!" the woman responded. The next day the woman brings her Brazilian female parrots to the priest's house. His two Ghanaian male parrots are holding rosary beads and praying in their cage. The lady puts her two Brazilian female parrots in with the Ghana male parrots and the Brazilian female parrots say,"Hi, we're prostitutes, want to have some fun?" One Ghanaian male parrot looks over at the other Ghanaian male parrot and exclaims, "Put the FIFA beads away. Our prayers have been answered!"

We cannot make a whole lots of noise and giving brand name of Ghana as Brazil of Africa. Our quality of play from day one of the qualifying games to Brazil is questionable. Brazil have players who can dribble to make room for any of the players to score. They attack with 11 players and defend with 11 players. There is no such strikers in the Brazilian line up. Look at Asamoah Gyan. His shots a week and he deliver them from 40 yards. It gets to the keeper at a weak point Ayew should has been replaced during the first half. He has no skills. None on the Black Star players can dribble to beat one persons and the Brazilians can. Apart from Esien, Muntari and Boateng who plays quality football, the rest a nothing. Many of the Black star players a not strong, the fall and cannot get up quickly but calling the referee to award a foul. Corner and free kicks should be left for Muntari. We need players who can use the wall pass system and long passes to open up the old black stars players used to do. the old black stars had dribblers, Osei Kofi, Ibrahim Sunday, Every where Kwame Nti, Malik Jabir,Polo, Abedi Pele, Aggrey Fynn and Agyeman Gyau who created a vacuum for shooters the likes of Acquah, Mfum, Joe Sam, Kwesi Owusu, Abukari, Opoku Afreyie, Yaw Sam, Kofi Pare and others I cannot mention their names to score in a dynamic style. We had defenders who defended with style Addo Odametey, John Ehun, Oblitey, Crenstil, Bobie Ansah, Willie Evans. We had speed spear headed by Frank Odoi VC10, Jones Attuquayefio, Mohammed Salisu, Lawal,Ofei Doodo,Kwame Adarkwah, Salami, George Alhassan and others. Goalkeepers.Robert Mensah, Dodoo Ankrah, Adoquaye Laryea, Anue Cofie and ruberman john Bortey Naawu. These men played for the love football and they were talented and
their coaches did not have too much to do. They were not rich but good quality players. Akwasi Appiah you have a lot to do in 7 months for any one to brag about the Brazilians of Africa hype. Good Luck Coach Appiah

We need to adopt serious productive football that can only be achieved by teamwork. Even though I dont think that the Black Stars have as yet attained that level, quick and fast and accurate passing is the only way that one can employ to reach our highest aspirations in football.
Those who want to see dribbling can go to Ohene Djan or Baba Yara stadia in Accra or Kumasi and watch dribbling galore in and around the midfield without the scoring of goals.

Is Brazil wearing white?...this was a rhetoric question asked by a commentator when Ghana was playing Brazil in a world cup elimination match in Germany, i think...correct me if i'm wrong...Ghana was wearing white and Brazil was wearing their usual yellow...but the way Ghana was playing...man to man..one-touch passes, ringing circles around the Brazilians, the commentator was compelled to ask this question because it is Brazil noted for playing the kind of game Ghana was playing and they were not playing it...Ghana's problem was they could not put the ball in the net...and they lost 3-0...even though we are going to Brazil, i don't see the present team playing the man-to-man, one-touch passes that has been associated with Ghana's national teams-U-17, U-21 and the Black Stars...It is therefore no surprising that Ghana has beaten Brazil at the U-17 and U-20/21 levels of FIFA competitions to win World Cups...i hope they replicate the same performance when they enter the lion's den next year

You've make good analysis here, however, I don't think Ghana can claim to be "Brazil of Africa" name tag anymore, esp. watching out matches with Zambia and Egypt. Our team won alright but lacked the kind of cohesive play and ball control that won them lots of admiration from the football world. Even in Accra when we won 2-1, 7-1 against Zambia and Egypt respectively, we didn't exhibit cohesiveness in our type of play. Maybe some may argue that the results are the most important.
If we buy into this notion, we'll surely be one of the country to exit the WC-2014 in Brazil. We should work on our style of play or system; our ball handling and distribution is so porous any advanced football nation could win massively against us.
We cannot string our passes together for 2 minutes; most of our players are clueless about ball control, esp. our defence line. There's a lot of homework to be done, before the WC begins, else we'll just end up adding up to the numbers during the tournament. Our aim should be, to attempt to win the WC, but not just to go there and cause sensations or surprises as some fans seem to suggest. We're capable of winning the WC with the kind of talent or materials that we have.

Any player who cannot initiate a counter-attack move is not worthy to play for the Black Stars. Coach Kwasi Appiah should set his standards high; our team players should try to study or copy Michael Essien or Sulley Muntari. These players are great assets to the team and the up-and-coming ones should be encouraged to learn from them. I don't particularly like this white jeysey ghana used during the world cup qualifications. It looks too simplistic and poorly designed.
I think the black stars deserve better designed jeyseys at the world cup. This is a world stage and the country must give good impressions about itself. Let's don't let sponsors influence our designs too much.
I think the burgundy and yellow stripes we used in the last world cup looked really cute and nice. We should seek a design along similar lines.
Or if we want to bring the world's attention to ourselves even before we kick the ball, at the world cup, we should have jeyseys designed in our traditional kente colours to international quality standard, ie. if fifa rules allow the use of so many colours.
There are varieties of kente designs and we can have different sets of jeyseys to reflect that. I think kente jeyseys if well designed would look really nice and different from the norm.
In doing so, we'll be bringing the traditional kente onto the world stage. Can you imagine the buzz this would generate at the world cup?
Come on its not too late, let's have these designs please!! I suggest the goalkeepers use track suit trousers and long sleeves all in kente designs.
If this goes through, we would have been the first country in the world to have played in jeyseys made in our traditional colours and all the world's focus will be on us.
I suggest we have different patterns for every match we play.
In the end, I think this would be good in attracting tourists to Ghana.
