One day, a guy was approached by a rich man who said, “If you marry my daughter, I will give you my house and all of my money.” Sure enough the guy says yes. The rich man then warned him that his daughter had been in a terrible car accident and was a little messed up, both physically and mentally. The guy figures she couldn't be that messed up and doesn't change his mind.
So he married the girl -- who was that messed up -- and on the honeymoon, instead of having to look at her, he put a paper bag over her head when they were having sex. And the guy used the bag every time they had sex after that One day, while the guy was doing some work around the house, he dropped his hammer and said, “Honey, can you get the hammer for me?” The wife shuffled around muttering, “Huh? Get the hammer, get the hammer, get the hammer,” and finally picked it up.
After she gave it back to him, he dropped the box of nails and asked, “Honey, can you get nails for me?” She went to fetch it, mumbling, “Huh? Get the nails, get the nails, get the nails.” She hands him the nails and he goes back to work.
While the guy is hammering a nail, he accidentally struck his thumb and shouted, “Aww, fuck!” The wife says, “Huh? get the bag, get the bag, get the bag....”

papa Appiah, thank you so much for hitting the nail right on the head. We are being ruled by an unintelligent egoistic cheap talker and as it were a priority misplaced hypocrite. if this man thinks he is fighting corruption by sacking people who wants to make 1 million dollars as deputy ministers, then he has no point to score. has he forgotten he is the one paying these bloated deputy ministerial appointees? mahama is a joke. he thinks he can deceive God with lotto numbers "two sure"
"The battle is the Lord's". a disgraceful president who has no shame. sacking Vicky means nothing to us Ghanaians because we know its a normal practice in and around the presidency that corruption is a policy in your governance.
this is just one of the million practices which has not been uncovered. remember, free things don't last just as cheap gains don't have value. We live you and all your decends to Jah n karma.

... by arguing wrongly. He has a list of some petty things the president has done and uses the list to hang him.
C'mmon, ALL heads of state do petty things. In the end, that will not be what they will be judged by. They must be judged by the more important things that they have done or failed to do. The president could still have done all these petty things AND STILL DO the major ones.
Papa Appiah mentions some of the major problems facing the country which he says the president should be solving rather than talking about the Black Stars. But Appiah does not give any answers as to HOW those problems should be solved. That is what we need to know, not the mere fact that they are not being solved.
Then Appiah says the President should resign or be taken off by a coup. That is Appiah's solution. But the President cannot resign. There are no constitutional grounds for him to resign. We don't want a coup either. Moreover, we don't know if the person who replaces him, in the unlikely event of any one of his suggested solutions coming through, will be any better, given the structure of our present politics where all the guys up there in both major parties are the same. So Appiah does not offer a credible solution.
As for firing Hammah for her utterance, it was the President who appointed her. He has the power to sack her, harsh as that may seem to be. He can even sack her where she has done nothing wrong. And Hammah's statement, if it is true, is very terrible. If I were the president, I would ask her to resign too (for giving voice to what is symptomatic of public complaint about our politicians). Then from the small fry, I will go on to the big fry. These are more difficult to deal with than the small fry...

Pack up and leave if…- Ursula tells Prez Mahama
OPEN LETTER TO H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA AND READING PUBLIC OF GHANAWEB.COM,
IT IS TIME TO CALL "SPADE A SPADE"AND THAT THE GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA REPOSED THEIR TRUST AND CONFIDENCE IN H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA TO LEAD GHANA AS THE COMMANDER-IN CHIEF AND FATHER OF THE NATION AND NOBODY CAN CHANGE THAT CONFIDENCE AND TRUST REPOSED IN THE PRESIDENT.
THAT AS "FATHER PROVIDES FOR HIS CHILDREN AND THE CHILDREN ALSO HELP THEIR FATHER" SO IT SHOULD BE WITH ALL OF US AS GHANAIANS.
THAT THE FIFTH (5TH) COMMANDMENTS OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IN THE BIBLE ENTREAT ALL CHRISTIANS "CHILDREN OBEY YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER TO LIVE LONG AND ALSO TO PROSPER IN THE LAND THAT YOUR GOD GIVES TO YOU".
THAT THE BOOK OF ROMANS ALSO ENJOINED ALL CHRISTIANS "TO OBEY THEIR GOVERNMENTS SINCE NO GOVERNMENT CAN EXIST WITHOUT GOD BRINGING THEM TO POWER."
THAT THE BIBLE ALSO ENTREATS GOVERNMENTS AND LEADERS NOT TO OPPRESS THEIR PEOPLE BUT TO DISPENSE JUSTICE WITH FAIRNESS" AND OTHERS.
HOWEVER, AS INTERNATIONAL LAWYER I DO ADMIT THAT WE ARE NOT ALL CHRISTIANS IN GHANA BUT WE HAVE OTHER RELIGIOUS SECTS WHICH WE MUST RESPECT SINCE GHANA 1992 CONSTITUTION PROVIDES FOR "THE FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND CONSCIENCE" UNDER CHAPTER 5 OF THE CONSTITUTION WHICH ENJOINED ALL OF US TO RESPECT THE CONSTITUTION.
THAT THE FRIVOLOUS ACCUSATIONS BEING LEVELED AGAINST H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA THOUGH I DO RESPECT DIVERGENT OF VIEWS ARE NOT BEING DONE WITH CLEAR CONSCIENCE BUT WITH MALICE AFORETHOUGHT.
THAT THE REAL QUESTIONS THAT I RESPECTFULLY RAISED FOR HON.NANA AKUFO ADDO, WHO WAS GHANA FORMER FOREIGN MINISTER NEVER BEING ANSWERED BY HIM AND PEOPLE ARE NOW RESORTING TO DIVERSIONARY TACTICS AND CASTING FRIVOLOUS ACCUSATIONS AGAINST H.E.PRESIDENT MAHAMA RATHER INSTEAD OF INSISTING THAT HON.NANA AKUFO ADDO ANSWERS THE QUESTIONS AS BELOW:
(i) WHETHER OR NOT AMERICA GOVERNMENT GAVE ME $10 MILLION WHEN AMERICA GAVE GHANA A GRANT OF $547 MILLION WHEN HE WAS GHANA FOREIGN MINISTER?
(ii) WHETHER OR NOT AMERICA GOVERNMENT GAVE GHANA $547 MILLION AS GRANT FOR POVERTY REDUCTIONS WHEN HON.NANA AKUFO ADDO WAS GHANA FOREIGN MINISTER?
(iii) IF YES, THEN WHAT DID THEY DO WITH THE SAID MONEY?
(iv) WHETHER OR NOT HON.NANA AKUFO ADDO WHEN HE WAS NPP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE FOR 2008 TRANSFERRED MONEY TO CANADA TO PURCHASE CARS/VEHICLES?
(v) IF YES, TO WHO DID HE OR THEY TRANSFER THE MONEY TO IN CANADA?
(vi) WHERE ARE/WERE THE CARS/VEHICLES?
THAT ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE RELATED QUESTIONS ARE NOT MATTERS OF FANCY BUT VERY SERIOUS AND IT IS MY RESPECTFUL SUBMISSION THAT MPS WHO LOVE GHANA AND ARE IN PARLIAMENT FOR THE GOOD CAUSE/COURSE OF THE PEOPLE TO RISE UP ABOVE PARTISAN DIVIDES AND PERSONAL IDIOSYNCRASIES TO TAKE THE MATTER SERIOUSLY TO GET ANSWERS AND ALSO TO GET TO THE RUDIMENTS OF THE MATTER AND TO STOP CASTING FRIVOLOUS ACCUSATIONS AGAINST H.E.PRESIDENT JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA.
IT IS AT THESE RELATED BACKDROPS THAT I AM RESPECTFULLY URGING H.E.PRESIDENT MAHAMA TO INSTITUTE INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE MATTER IF HON.NANA AKUFO ADDO REFUSED TO TALK ON THE MATTER, THERETO.
RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED.
GOD BLESS GHANA AND AMERICA.

You must be joking indeed!!! You would have led the chorus for the president to resign and labelled him "weak, incompetent" and the like, just as you are attempting to do here, if he had not acted swiftly and sacked Victoria Hammah.
Hers is not a case of a "poor innnocent woman"; "small fry" as you troied to put it, but an 'arrogant, boastful' and foolish individual who seems to be growing too big for her ministerial shoes!!!
You seem to forget that this is the same WOMAN whom this very president defended openly against her colleagues when she came under attack not long ago. The president gave her an open backing and soime of us supported it and wrote in her defence!!!
I think we shopuld applaud the president for acting decisively, swiftly and demonstrating leadership in removing a minister from her job on a matter of discipline! He does not need to explain to you or I why he acted so swiftly and decisively.
Are you suggesting that the president should allow a committee to do his job for him? You must be in a diffferent place my friend. Some of us have been calling for this type of action to ensure discipline in government for sometime and I am glad the president has acted in this case.
I hope this will be a warning for all political appointees, ministers and others in public service to know that they must follow a proper code of conduct irrespective of whether they are "small women" or 'big men'.
Your whole write up is a rather confused 'pot of soup' which doesn't seem to have a proper head or tail. You cannot eat your cake and have it. Love him or hate him, the president in my view has acted correctly and decisively. Good riddance!

Kofi, I think it is right and proper for the president to further investigate Ms Hammah's comments, especially the impression created that somehow there was interference in the judicial process.
We need the president to be decisive, tough and consistent and I will favour a further look into the matter. I am rather averse to those who seek to make cheap political capital out of this (and other issues). I would have condemned the president and his government for inaction in this case.
Regarding your article which has not been published, that is unfortunate, and I hope they do publish it. I notice Mr Adofo has two articles in today's edition of ghanaweb which simply does not make sense. It's surprising that ghanaweb has picked you out and placed a red label on you. It is really unfortunate.
You must have done something really very grievous to merit such treatment since ghanaweb is so open. You deserve the right to know the reason which all of us also do so we can learn from it. If the reason is flimsy and/or unwarranted, some of us are ready to kick off a campaign on your behalf.
Now and then ghanaweb comes up with such decisions but very very rarely. I understand the same thing was done to Nana Amma Obenewaa (NAO) a very powerful and frequent contributor on these pages. Her language was very powerful and very flowery. So were her political views too. Then we heard on the grapevine that she had been struck off from contributing to ghanaweb for some reason we don't know. After that she came on in the forum and SIL for some time but now cannot be seen any more. It is a great loss to ghanaweb especially when we are now saddled with articles by Adofo Rockson, Kofi Thompson and some others who clearly are not gifted writers. NAO is a gifted writer even if you don't agree with her (his - some people say he is a he) views.
You must do everything to find out why ghanaweb has struck you off. I suggest you send an article in a different name from a computer with an ipaddress you have never used before. In such an article do not refer to yourself too much. Then let's see if they bite the bait.
You are not one of my favourite writers on this forum but I will stubbornly defend your right to post articles here especially since you don't attack and insult people in your articles. I know I can read your pieces on modernghana and other sites but ghanaweb is the place to be. No two ways about that!!!

KK, like you I am at a loss as to why all of a sudden Ghanaweb is refusing to publish articles from me. At one time, I used to e-mail articles to them after 8.00pm and it would be published the following morning. Then from July my articles were delayed for two, three, four, five days, one week and finally Ghanaweb stopped publishing them in October.
Ghanaweb has discretion to decide which articles to publish and there is no obligation to provide explanation to contributors why their articles are not published. It's a fight one cannot win, so I will not take them on, though it's disappointing.
I prefer to publish on Ghanaweb because readers post comments, analyse the contents and debate the issues raised therein and the author can respond if s/he so wishes. That is not the case with others websites such as Modernghana.com The article published by Modernghna.com today has no comment, which would have been strange on Ghanaweb. The minimum comments I have received on an article on Ghanaweb were ten whilst the maximum on a single article on Modernghana.com have been four. Probably, my article will be published tomorrow. If it is not published then I will take that to mean that Ghanaweb has decided not to publish articles from me for whatever reason, so will not send articles to them again. It will be waste of time.

I made a comment that your very objective piece is the kind we need to debate dispassionately to inform ourselves as Ghanaians, as well as contributing to the development of our dear country. Unfortunately, sometimes the comments are so disheartening, they are beginning to put off some fine writers on the Ghana social media scene.

We may not always agree and / or we may have different viewpoints on certain issues but by and large what we are looking for is healthy debate, however animated and spirited.
Reading well crafted articles and having opportunity to discuss content and debate the issues is one way of both informing us and helping in our political and developmental discourse.
I find myself having to stand up and 'defend' myself against 'non-entities' (in my opinion, however well educated they may be on paper) who only see things in certain ways and for me, I will be happy to be challenged on the facts and merit of my opinions but when people choose rather to insult and divert attention from the real focus of the topics, that is most disappointing.
to me, it is these 'detractors' who have nothing good to offer on ghanaweb and other social media, who should be 'checked' and not those who take their time to prepare and present provocative topics for discussion.
As a side issue, Kofi, perhaps you need to check to see if ghanaweb is sometimes reluctant to publish an article because you submitted it to a 'rival' platform. Remember in academic circles, you do not submit the same article to two different journals at the same time. We need to explore all the possible avenues and reasons for this 'anomaly'.

Paul, I have always given Ghanaweb preferential treatment when it comes to my articles. In fact, until yesterday, I wait till Ghanaweb published my articles before I sent copy to Modernghana.com After e-mailing the article to Ghanaweb at 2.45pm yesterday, I pasted a copy on my Modernghana.com page at about 11.00pm. I do not know when the editor published it but I saw it published this morning after I realised that Ghanaweb did not publish it. Regarding the other three that Ghanaweb did not publish in October, I only sent copies to Moderngana.com after Ghanaweb failed to publish them. In fact, Ghanaweb was the only media I sent my articles to when I first started writing in 2010. Then other media such as Peacefmonline and Myjoyonline posted copies. In fact, even the Statesman published my very first article and also saw copies on other websites that I never knew they existed. I became aware one day when I googled Kofi Ata, Cambridge. I believe they copied them from Ghanaweb. Following that I sent Peacefmonline and Myjoyonline copies but they stopped publishing them because they do not publish that many articles daily and one article could be featured for over a week. I started sending copies of my articles to Modernghana.com only in 2012 but I always sent them copies the morning after Ghanaweb had published them.

As far as I know, ghanaweb does NOT discriminate. They don't even mind if you send your articles to all other Ghanaian sites and treat them last. They will still post whatever you send to them. In fact, they don't even read the articles before posting. They always publish as is - including ALL mistakes anyone makes. Sometimes they even add their own mistakes in the titles!!! THEY DONT EVEN HAVE TIME DISCRIMINATING AGAINST ANYBODY.
Thats why this thing against you is shocking. I heard when Nana Amma was struck off, she/knew the reason why and did not complain. I also heard it seems it had to do with her impersonating someone or something like that. It was serious but ghanaweb didn't tell the rest of us why.
Often Francis Akoto answers personal letters and will tell you why. Indeed, he's a nice guy who can even apologize to you if they've missed something.
I suggest you still write an email to him asking why you're being denied your rights on the site. Copy it to the other guys - I think Nyansasem gave you some other addresses of ghanaweb owners.
Then try my suggestion and see. You can just change the title and name of any one of those four articles (or write a new one) and post it from a new ipaddress and see if they post it. Do this for yourself and don't tell us the result.

I would suggest that we ask ghanaweb to explain any decision not to publish since we have no terms of reference for articles.
It would be a great pity not to have intellectual insights such as we read from the likes of Kofi and I respect KK's sentiments - that although Kofi may not be his favourite writer, he argues strongly against any attempt to not publish his articles.
There are individuals who have made it their business to go on ghanaweb and other social media to hound people who write aritcles or make comments which are against their entrenched viewpoints and I deeply resent that. I have found that on ghanaweb although such 'extremists' who usually do not address the substance of what people write have the freedom to express themselves. Be that as it may (and despite complaints from well-meaning readers and commentators), I cannot see any good reason why any article from others (unless they are libellous or offensive) should not be published.
I am sure many readers find writers like Ahoofe and Adofo obnoxious, nonetheless their viewpoints are published almost on a daily basis and we have two 'crap' articles from Adofo in today's edition of features. The reason cannot be for lack of space as on some days, not enough articles have been published in that column and frankly sometimes some of what is posted is not worth reading.
If this particular trend continues, I think we deserve to collectively write to ghanaweb to try and clarify their editorial policy so, we all know where we stand.
It would be a real pity if we were all to decide to leave ghanaweb because of unjustified 'discrimination'. That said, I think ghanaweb ought to be applauded for the work they do and the access they give to people across the board (even including those who write a load of r****** like Aodofo and Ahoofe).

What more do you want the president to do after wasting no time in dismissing one of his favorite ministers? Praise when praise is due. Don't criticize blindly... Talking about dead issues.

If he is up on jis toes to address corruption issues then he should address that of GYEEDA and the others.

Mahama must resign. he has nothing to offer Ghanaians except corruption.
Kufuor served as President for eight years, despite presiding over the most corrupt administration in Ghana's history. He should have set a good example and resigned after six months in office.
