The problems can be summarised as 'corruption and NDC evil intentions'. If supreme court judges can be bribed by the ruling party to rule in their favour or if the electoral commissioner can be bribed to change election results to favour a particular candidate, there is nothing the ordinary Ghanaians can do because top officails of the police, the military and other security Agencies are all benefiting from the Government corruption and so are solidly behind the NDC government. They are refusing to serve the interest of the people. Consequently the country is fast becoming a failed state and will soon be like Somalia or DRC. Ghanaians must pray.

I agree with you on all the issues you have raised. The most important and yet untouched subject is our level of interligence. The IQ level of a Ghananian Politicians ,University teachers(lect)high ranking government officials and the general population is Below 30.A high school student in the western world is far more interligent than all these internet Phd holders in Ghana. How do you expect such diverse group of people to rule a country much less implements basic laws. Most of these people do not understand the basic requiements of their position.Where in the world do one spend four years in the university and not know what career you are in.We need a revolution the type that will focus on mental development. The most Religious are the most ignorant, with low IQ.
Ghana is a fools paradise where the stupid in society have convierge and had a field day. Gate way to Africa ,Serously. Those who are ready to insult me go ahead ,but before you do so please reflect on all what is going on in the country and think about what people are doing wrong and what you will have done better.

Now we have many Phd holders ,if there is a hole or crack in the motorway and it needs to be fixed they use TAR.Which Idiot fixes concrete with tar?,except in Ghana.People like Akufu Adu, and Me in particular will never become president of Ghana, you know why ,Because we have a Higher IQ level so people like you in the 30IQ level are always scared for a change.

Was that too much to ask? Never mind what my IQ is. Before you asked that question, you should have told us what your own IQ is.
And to show just that how you and I agree on most national issues, I'll be posting a piece in just a few minutes. Stay tuned: you will find out that we are all on the same wavelength. Have yourself a good day.

sorry i feel the same way but the truth is that, our problem is in the core of our very nature. as to whether that can be changed i have no immediate answers.
the leader of the pack in these "bad attitudes" is the "fama Nyame" syndrome.
just as we have at the micro level, people would do everything within their means including sending emissaries from the church to pervert justice. how then do we overcome all the factual challenges you have so rightly enumerated even though we all admit rule of law should and must be the panacea for social uprightness.
hmm sometimes i think Lamentations is our only solution

If you are the average Ghanaian being dragged down by the doom and gloom and the nay sayers…take heart: we in this country have massive problems but we have achieved a lot, not so much in terms of material wealth but in terms of education. From the very day we gained Independence when Dr. Kwame Nkrumah had a clear vision of exactly where he was going to steer our country… along the path of democracy, on our own terms. And realizing that democracy required each of us to be educated enough to read and hear news and be able to make intelligent choices and decisions, Nkrumah knowing very well that we were then predominantly a land of the uneducated, relatively speaking, embarked on blitzing the country with a massive spread of education.
He began from the grassroots from our adult populace who could neither read nor write by starting the then called “mass education” to get our illiterate adults in night classes to give them enough reading skills to read and write their own languages… to give them enough mental resources to read newspapers like ‘Nkwantabisa’ in their own native languages so as to catch up on national affairs. Next came ‘Akasanoma’ factory to flood the Ghanaian market with radios so that people could catch up on the nation’s affairs by tuning in to Radio Ghana to listen to news in their own vernaculars. And if you could not afford a radio, you could rent a radio box for a modest monthly rental fee from Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.
Nkrumah then turned to formal education by building schools, from elementary and providing Ghana Educational Trust Secondary Schools in every region to complement the few existing secondary schools. And don’t forget the training colleges and the Universities. Who said we haven’t come a long way and that we have achieved nothing. Yes we could have been a lot better than where we are today if we had played our cards right. But thanks to Nkrumah’s initiative, this country now has a glut of educated people and the proof of that is right here on Ghanaweb where we meet on a daily basis to get engaged in national issues without fear of any persecution. Education ceased to be the monopoly of the children of the rich and famous.
What has done this country in is our politicians and we all know it. Education is not our problem because you just have to read the newspapers to find our “Who is Who” of PHDs. We have what it takes both in terms of human and natural resources to make things happen: it is the mind set of us individually and collectively that is holding us back. Our greed and our penchant for ostentatiousness that drives some of us to grab whatever they can when they have the chance to the detriment of the rest of us. Every day we read about people’s long list of academic foolproof prescription for our salvation but just give those same people some kind of power and then see what happens. It is a vicious cycle. Deja vu. We all know what needs to be done and have more than enough qualified AND trained professionals to get things done. We just have to clean up our act.
But don’t lose hope, WE CAN DO IT and yes we can if we change our mind set. And just in case you are being dragged down by the doom and gloom, here is a piece from KISS band that may lift you up and brighten your day. Perhaps they borrowed the quote from somebody else but who cares…it is the message that matters:
"I can see in your eyes
That you’re tired of the talk
You’re tired of the lies
Every time you let a day pass you by
A part of you dies
Yeah
Take a chance, win or lose
Don’t ever give up on the life you choose
You’ve gotta hit ‘em like a freight train comin’
You drop the pedal with the motor runnin’
Right here and now
Yesterday’s gone, tomorrow is always in doubt
Right here, Right Now.
