You say, almost unceasingly, let us find out why, let us find out why, ... and you offer absolutely no solutions. What you have written here is well known by every well-meaning African. What you should be telling us is how we can get ourselves out of the mess of bad (mostly corrupt) leadership.
Kufuor's leadership centre is no solution. Who is going to listen to Kufuor when he will go down in history as the greediest president Ghana ever had. And you, Kennedy, served under his administration!
How are we going to change attitudes across the board to make leadership beneficial to our people? What practical steps can we take to effect that. You didn't say!

It very pathetic to see all these leaders talking about corruptions but none of them set up a policy that will give ordinary citizen power to prosecute these criminals. Why? They are criminal them selvesl so the law will put them to jail after their term as corrupt political leaders. It should be no excuse but I will excuse Rawlings for brief Kuffour was the one who had brilliant opportunity to change the course of Ghana but he did not due to corrupt establishment within his party. We can not thrive if Africa don't go back and look at the legacy of our founding fathers we will still beg the white people for everything because these current leaders has the mind set of consuming but not manufacturing. with all the natural resources we are still poor. Bad roads, poor drinking water, bad resources for our education. Let be realistic,if these leaders cares about their countries and our countries why should they send their children to school abroad all the time? They have no plan for education reform to make it better. the idea is to keep poor people from educate them self. Because they want their breed corrupted children continue the legacy of their corruptions they have nothing better to offer to African they will always go around and beg for stuff because IMF and World Bank loves them to death. I thinks that all the foreign educated leaders in Africa only have their degrees on corruption, If someone will help me on that and explained it to me because it baffles my mind. God bless Africa and deliver us from these guys and find us true leaders who will work for legacy but not the interest of our coffers.

Corruption,I learned, is global but I also learned that it affects the poor
countries the most.Why?
a)Illiteracy:In a society where a fraction of the people attended school and the majority NEVER set foot in a classroom, you have an imbalance:the few that were supposed to use their education to help build their community tend to STEAL from the majority....and that,my friends,is Africa for you.
b)A lesson in Nation-Building:
In Achebe's second Novel "No Longer At Ease"Okonkwo's son Isaac Obi OkonKwo was sent to London by the village community of Umofia to study...and was to return home with his education to help build his community.Upon his return(as our Master writer Chinua Achebe put it)Obi
Okonkwo was faced with so many "Role-Strains-Expectations" from his own extended family members he found himself"swimming against the tide" and
in the end, ended up accepting a bribe.....something he had vowed never to do.
Ultimately, this novel is interesting for the light it throws on a large and represetative view of Africa
To:Mr.A. Kobina Kennedy:While we are all struggling for good governance and leadership,I wish even the most ardent enemies of Kwame Nkrumah("eti-kese3)will find time to single him out as the one Afican Leader who NEVER
had a Foreign Account...(not even in Egypt,as the Bomb throwers made us to believe in Feb. '66) and by that Never stole a pesewa from his fellow Ghanaian(not unlike some of his own ministers,I must say,eh).
c)Because of corruption,Africa has failed to make much headway on the road to purposeful development.
Solution:
"Black Africa needs a new type of CITIZEN,a dedicated, modest, honest, informed man.
A man who submerges self in service to the nation and mankind.A man who abhors GREED and detests vanity.A new type of man whose humility is his strength and whose intergrity is his greatness."Kwame Nkrumah"...Discuss !!

The new breed of so-called African leaders have no 'balls' and are all puppets to the West.
They have fallen hook, line and sinker for the so-called democracy being imposed on us. They even sign up to HIPC....whilst their countries are worth more than the World Bank and many other countries put together.
(In the abundance of water, the FOOL is thirsty).
However, these new breed of African leaders (AFROPEANS) know it is wrong but, their incapability and inability; coupled with FEAR - does not allow them to shift away from their MENTAL ENSLAVEMENT by the forces controlling them.
A democracy that keeps them in check to continually sell our rich natural resources to the neo-colonialists and imperialists on the CHEAP; to the detriment of OUR citizens.
That same democracy keeps them in power - elections after elections and the raping of our continent's riches continues. Such stooges and puppets like that of Gabon, Uganda, Burkina Fasso, Equitorial Guinea, Togo, Sierra Leone, Benin, Ivory Coast and many more others I don't feel bothered to even name them.
This new breed have to tow their slave masters line at all cost and enrich themselves and their families in the process......all under the guise of so-called democracy and globalization.
This new breed are just hanging in there, in the so-called Commonwealth - where the distribution of the wealth is not common among its member states - but just there as puppets to serve their slave masters.
What a WASTE! AFRICANS must wake up! And stop this so called democracy of favouritism and exploitation. None of these new breed of so-called African leaders stood up to what happened in Libya....just because of what could happen to them if they don't listen ro their masters for the FEAR of being overthrown and killed or dragged to the Hague. And also import TOXIC WASTE to our continent?? Is that what leadership is all about?
This new USELESS breed of African leaders receive funding from the EU to run the AU.......Can you imagine that?
What kind of decisions are they going to take in favour of the future of OUR children and children's children??
Until we all refuse to vote for these new breed of USELESS leaders, who come under the guise and cloak of democracy......then, I'm afraid the whole of Africa should embrace itself for the worst to come.......being forced to pay for the air we breathe, with our rich natural resources.
(Think about it...AFRICANS!!!!).
NKRUMAH NEVER DIES!!!!
GOD BLESS GHANA!
AFRICAN FOREVER!
