I started writing during the Mills regime, even then I questioned some of Kufour's policies, etc. You arguments are moronic considered in the context of nation building: the fact that Kufour did it does not mean that Mills, Mahama, etc. should replicate those bad policies. The state is an organism that grows and matures. It is not a static model. Being in power is not forever: what would survive long after the Mahama regime is over is memory and politics! It's likewise grossly false to state, as KK has done, that the people of the North are only 10% of Ghana's population.
It's accurate to indicate that the Akans are indeed the majority ethnic group in Ghana due to the fact that they're 44% of the entire population. They're followed by the Dagombas who alone in the North constitute 16%, the Ewes are the third with about 13% and so on. Then there're the other numerous smaller ethnic groups in the North as well as the Ga-Adangbes and other minority groups in the South. All these combined are a large group of people.
If this be the case, Existentialist and the Okoampa-Ahoofes, how can you say that the Akans constitute 49% or 50% of Ghana's population?. Just do the simple arithmetic and see if your claim makes sense. Why don't you just do what academically honest people do when they're discussing issues of this nature by simply consulting Ghana's population census stats and stop the exaggeration deliberately designed to mislead people? Many of those people, Afo Blay, Yaw Agyemang-Dua, PY Amoako, Frimpong-Boateng, etc, had all been in their positions for several year, before Kufuor came to power! And as Akadu pointed out, the fact that Kufuor did it does not make it right for Mahama to do it, especially if he is only putting square pegs in round holes. At least 85% of Kufuor's appointees were competent in their positions. You cannot say the same about these Team D people!

If Mahama's government is made up of 90% of the groups that only constitute just 17% of the population, then something is seriously wrong!
That is what Akadu wrote about. Kufuor even appointed people from the Volta Region, where he obtained less than 5% of the total votes.

I wouldn't bother if they were good at their jobs, but the fact that Ghana's economy is in tatters, and even the development partners have withdrawn their 50% budgetary support because of corruption in high places, means that these tribal chieftains are simply rubbish.
I hope those illiterate voters in the Central, Western and Brong Ahafo Regions are proud of what they have done to Mother Ghana!

And another thing you don't seem to realize is that you don't have to live in Diaspora to use Wikipedia: Wikipedia is essentially an on line Encyclopedia and is always as current as current can be.
So the question I have for you is, regardless of source ...were the ministers I listed sitting members of our Parliament? If you answered yes, then you just confirmed my theory of selective Journalism. Don't forget, the facts are out there, and people can tell when writers try to throw dust in their eyes. She says in her write up that Kufuor did it but she does not appear to see anything wrong with it. The constitution talks of the directive principle of state policy. This was completely disregarded by the NPP Government. Kufuor appointed all Akans and went on to say he did not find any one suitable to appoint into his government from the Upper West Region; meanwhile they keep intoning Busia-Danquah-Dombo. Was Chief Simon Deidong Dombo not from the now Upper West Region? Was he not the one who stayed back and led the United Party until Busia returned when his coup against Ghana succeeded and Dombo dutifully handed over the leadership of the United Party to him?
MMensima did not see that because 'Akans do not do wrong'. I said Mensima is ignorant and has a warped thinking because if the list that she put out was an answer to a question in an examination on how many Norherners President John Mahama has appointed, she would have failed. Failed because most of the people she listed are career officers in their various services and got to where they are as a result of institutional progression. What does Mensima and those who are warped in their thinking say about the heirachy of the Ghana Armed Forces which Kufuor stuffed with Akans when he was in power. What does she say about the appointment of the Ashantis/Akans into various agencies even when their loyalty is doubtful. How about the scores of Ashantis/Akans who were recruited into government agencies, quickly given scholarships to upgrade themselves and have come back and retained their positions in the various agencies and throwing 'sabos" into the wheels of government?(sabotage comes from the Dutch word 'sabo' fro wooden half shoes that workers used to throw into industrial machines to cause a breakdown)
Mensima and her ilk should know and accept that Ghana does not belong to Ashantis/Akans alone; there are other groupings. They should also accept the fact that John Dramani Mahama, a Northerner is the President of the Republic of Ghana and shall continue to be so until 2020 if it is the will of the Almighty and not he will of disgruntled and dissatisfied Ashantis/Akans.
If I had the way I would have asked the authorities of the school she attended for her degree programs to re-visit her submissions because she does not sound like someone who has been thru a higher institution except she wants to cause mischief and that is more serious dent on her intellectual capacity. Mensima cannot even spell her catchword "Northerner" correctly. Is she sure she is from Denkyira and not an Ashanti? The people of Denkyira are more honorable than she sounds. Her sound bytes are very typical Ashanti.
