So any person with a northern name who does not buy Nkrumahism is Asante kramo,eh? You are the reason why many think Nkrumahism is dead, why?.. because an Nkrumahist like you can't tolerate another Ghanaian, casting tribal slurs, yet you speak about African unity. Deal with the problems at your backyard before you start tackling the problems of your distant neigbours. Perhaps the late Prez Mills saw the light when he declared "dzi wo fie asem" when Ivory Coast was burning.
I think you resorted to insults because you couldn't find reasonable answers to his questions, and that is very unfortunate.

A slave begging to be kept in slavery is essentially what your twisted logic and argument make you. Your own lack of confidence in yourself as a human being with infinite capabilities is what keeps you from accepting Ghana's independence in 1957. No doubt you would rather prefer Ghana being a colony with white men owning everything, black men serving as yes-sir-massa servants, and white men coming down, as it is now, to build a even a toilet for you. Before you repeat the lie that Nkrumah was intolerant, count yourself lucky that you were not one of the school children blown to pieces at Kulungugu or one of the young pioneers and spectators blown to bits at Accra Sports stadium. In fact, Nkrumah was very generous to the violent, opposition terrorist. Not a single person was executed under Nkrumah except for Ametewi, the policeman that tried to assassinate Nkrumah and killed a bodyguard instead. Go and tell the leaders of the USA and UK that they are intolerant of other views and opinions for jailing terrorists who either killed hundreds or thousands or were plotting to!
The CPP, despite the good intentions of many, is full of moles, outright traitors and saboteurs. Read Amilcar Cabral's eulogy at Nkrumah's funeral in Conakry, Guinea, and you will understand better what went wrong to allow the success of the coup against Nkrumah and what is going wrong now. in Ghana. Treachery and corruption are not hereditary traits! The cancer of betrayal - from the Pratts, the Baakos down to the Tsatsus...that is what has caused the marginalization of the CPP.

KWAME NKRUMAH is perhaps the most overrated politician that ever lived. There is a TV programme on Joy News about Economic History of Ghana that showcase the flamboyance and celebrity lifestyle of this man and his veranda boys. Then as the Film goes on, you notice the reason for his downfall: the corruption, incompetence and dictatorship. The truth is laid bare how he and his greedy chums blew our fortune on utopian schemes, which were all sold by his own Nkrumaist PNDC in their thieving Divestiture programme, with over 8.1 Billion unaccounted for to date!
There is Brian Mitchell's Book called "International Historical Statistics" which publishes empirical data of Ghana's GDP and GNP as well as production figures of every item, and one weeps to uncover the paucity of economic activity under this bogus CPP Government and rest of the Nkrumaist governments that have plagued our beautiful country. In fact Nkrumah comes out so poorly it shocks.
Then a click on the Google of these words "GHANA'S GDP" will reveal all the facts about our Economic History from 1951 to 2005 detailing all the economic indicators that belie the loquacious tale of the loud mouthed talkative Nkrumaist ideologues who never allow us a sleep over their lies and lies of the bad government we had from 1951 to 1966.
We do not need to discuss the bull shit about the most corrupt Government of Africa. CPP and Nkrumah sought to liberate Africa from colonialism but then taught African governments CORRUPTION. Each of these thieving CPP Ministers built over 30 Mansions with the resources of Ghana. Their families including all these web writers continue to benefit from the sale of these properties to pocket untold wealth they use to display their buffoonery around and publish their tales.
Who cares what ignorant Nkrumaists say now: They have destroyed a fine country with their covetousness of political power for selfish economic gains. The Nkrumaists of Ghana have ruled us as...
CPP from 1951 to 1966 - 15 years
They have ruled us with Kutu Acheampong and Akuffo from 1972 to 1979
They have ruled us as PNP from 1979 to 1981
The same group of power hungry Nkrumaists ruled Ghana with JJ Rawlings from 1981 to 2000;
and from 2008 to 2013 under Nkrumaists Atta Mills and John Mahama, one of the 19 children of Nkrumah's First Northern Regional Minister...
It's the same group of talkative thieving Nkrumaists who have taken turns to rule Ghana and exhausted all our God given resources.
Last but not the least, the independence of Ghana was not fought for by Dr Kwame Nkrumah alone. It began before Francis Ngolomma Kofi Nwiah was born to Aba Nyenba in Nzema. The struggle began with the resistance of local Gold Coasters: Ekem Gerguson, Kwamena Asameni, Kwami Karikari, Osei Kwame Bonsu, Kwegyir Aggrey, Thomas Barber, Kwaw Swanzy, Mensah Sarbah, and many others who fought by word and heart to persuade the Colonisers to go. The British would never have gone without the outbreak of the Nazi Second World War and the rise of Clement Attlee's Labour Party to government. Nkrumah was only an opportunist who jumped on the bandwagon to seek political power, and everything that was added to it as they sang
Ghanaians are the best Judges of this Nkrumah and this was clearly demonstrated when he was overthrown to a most popular acclaim...SINGING SONGS LIKE
'KWAMW NKRUMAH OYE ABOWA NE BA SEN HAGAN, IF YOU FOLLOW HIM...
OOR
'FATHIA NE TWE SO, ODZE TON KOKO, ME FRA NO WOAMMBA'

Their idol was reckless, irresponsible, dishonest and power-drunk. Tweakai. You have said it all. Those insulting you are dwelling on emotion and not fact. Nkrumah used money meant for our development to support stupid freedom fighters across Africa. He was the only leader who inherited no debt but left debt for those followed him. He even borrowed to build Akosombo Dam will supporting that senseless Ghana-Guinea-Mali alliance with million of dollars.
Why can't his supporters say with bravado that we are capable of managing our own affairs. Look at us, are we independent? While his nation was not that developed, he was trying vainly to unite Africa at a time he knows it was impossible. What sort of stupidity is that? We are in the year 2013 and are we that united in Ghana let alone Africa? Nkrumah was rushing as if someone was following him to take something valuable from him.
Nkrumah's supporters will tell you that he owns nothing but the money he spent outside Ghana was more than what he should have stolen. What his supporters do not understand was that the money left for us was for Ghana's development only but this man used some of it towards Africa as if the continent was under his watch.

People have to be judged by their actions and not where they went to school etc, etc. The Ideological Institute was sadly a means by some opportunists to get an education and a party or government post afterwards. In any case, no one has ever offered proof that Acheampong went to the Ideological Institute.
It is a fact, however, is that Lt. General I.K. Acheampong was appointed Western Regional Commissioner by the NLC that overthrew Nkrumah. He neither rejected that post nor denounced the NLC - ever - for overthrowing Nkrumah. Kotoka Airport remained Kotoka Airport under his regime, as it does now under the allegedly-Nkrumahist NDC. Acheampong did not originally agree to allowing Nkrumah to be buried in Ghana. Indeed, he was approached after his coup in January 13th, 1972 to allow a dying Nkrumah to come home as a private citizen to spend his last days in his beloved homeland. Acheampong refused this humanitarian request. After Nkrumah died he still refused to allow the return of the body for burial. It took intense diplomatic negotiations behind the scenes by the OAU before Acheampong agreed to allow the burial of the founder of Ghana in Ghana!

Mr Asempa, all these nations you mentioned pay homage to their past heroes as you claim, but the difference is that they are progressing very fast. Here, we are using the name of Nkrumah to divide ourselves by calling people both living and dead all kinds of names. If you continuously site the wrongs of others, certainly they will also drum the wrongs of your hero.
Finally, I will like to associate myself with one of the "twisted and considered" opinions of Owusu that we should move on. If Nkrumah's ideologies are are still real in contemporary Ghana and Africa, why can't our leaders, many of whom portray themselves as Nkrumahist put them into practice instead of the daily speeches and proclamations? My guess is that such leaders don't believe in Nkrumahism but use him for propaganda. Even those ordinary folks who oppose Nkrumah's ideas are more prosperous than those who claim to believe them.
I suggest you think deeper about the realities instead of the dreams.

A man is driving along a highway and sees a rabbit jump out across the middle of the road. He swerves to avoid hitting it, but unfortunately the rabbit jumps right in front of the car.The driver, a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulls over and gets out to see what has become of the rabbit. Much to his dismay, the rabbit is dead.
The driver feels so awful that he begins to cry. Another car arrives on the scene, and the driver sees the man crying on the side of the road and pulls over. She steps out of the car and asks man what's wrong.
"I feel terrible," he explains, "I accidentally hit this rabbit and killed it."
The newcomer says, "Don't worry." She runs to her car and pulls out a spray can. She walks over to the limp, dead rabbit, bends down, and sprays the contents onto the rabbit.
The rabbit jumps up, waves its paw at the two of them and hops off down the road. Ten feet away the rabbit stops, turns around and waves again, he hops down the road another 10 feet, turns and waves, hops another ten feet, turns and waves, and repeats this again and again and again, until he hops out of sight.
The man is astonished. He runs over to the woman and demands, "What is in that can? What did you spray on that rabbit?"
The woman turns the can around so that the man can read the label. It says....
"Hair restorer.......adds permanent wave."

this article doesnt do justice to Nkrumah. It doesnt even touch the surface on how much of a visionary nkrumah was in his writings and philosophies, not only on the African stage, but worldwide. There is a lot of information on Nkrumah, but it hasnt been substantially used with what he stood for to create the impression for the readers of what he was, as a symbol. Where is the discussions on positive action? Where is Nkrumah's thoughts on treating people as an ends in themselves, and not a means? Where are the words that Nkrumah followed and stood by religiously, to have him act out these great deeds? Maybe the amount of space in the article didn't permit such expansions, but as a Nkrumahist myself, I must speak out on what I see as below par written piece on an exceptional Leader.
