It would have been nice idea from the start with only 100 and 50 (10 & 5 each from every Region) MPs for the Lower and Upper Chambers respectively. And the constitution place a cap on the number.

Frankly, given Ghana's current economic circumstances, the inherent ethnocentric nature and way of practising politics, the population and geographic size, I believe Ghana needs only a single Parliament. I don't think the Bicameral system is a good prospect for anyone to get excited about in Ghana or find it necessary to exalt Dr J.B Danquah's philosophic and ideological proposal! Modelling our politics on the Westminster System or the American System will not necessarily provide the solution to the lack of expertise that goes into the scrutiny of our legislations.
Creating another chamber for some rogue Chiefs, political party tribalists and awful lot of deeply corrupt deadbeats and has beens seems to me the last thing we need as a nation. I'm opposed to the idea simply as it means yet more expense and more politicians. This bicameral idea will be an institutionalisation of cronies, and not the genuine expertise and effective leadership needed for the country's development.
