This tribalistic NPP will always remain tribalistic. Why should Bawumia be made the running mate of Alan and not the other way round. Is it because he he neither an Asante nor an Akyem. Or is it because he is a Northner. Dr. Bawumia was a running mate twice and was the main NPP man during the SC hearing, but all of a certain he is not good enogh to be the Presidential candidate. NPP is a regional and tribalistic political party and until they change their way of during things to be become national, they will remain in the opposition for many many years to come.

The writer should know that John Mahama and Amissah Arthur are no longer in the class of Bawumia and Alan. The electorate will have completely different standards for comparing the four of them. Is it any wonder the NPP always adopt the wrong strategies which always lead them to disaster at elections? Mahama is the incumbent president and no matter Alan's background, Mahama is way ahead of him. Amissah Arthur was the governor and Bawumia was only a deputy. Now Amissah Arthur is vice president of the republic of Ghana and Bawumia comes nowhere close to him.

I have always maintained that the NPP behaves like the Arabs in the middle east.They haven't sat down, make a self-assessment to find out why as an individual country or collectively they have not be able to conquer Israel.The NPP has to asked themselves why with all their claim that they have all the most learned people,they have the most affluent people, they are the biggest political party & arrogates all good things to themselves but has lost 9 out of the 12 elections since 1951 or has lost 4 out of the 6 elections under this 4th republican dispensation.2016 election which campaign begun the very minute their election petition was dismissed is not a good political year for the them. Reasons: 1)Either Alan/Bawumiah , Bawumiah/Alan or Akuffo-Addo/Bawumiah,non of this pair can win the 2016 election because they are going to contest a sitting president and this is one thing the NPP has not considered that no sitting president had ever lost election in this country since independence. 2)If it becomes Bawumiah/Alan or Alan/Bawumiah they will still loss because under this 4th republican dispensation,no first contender has ever won an election;though John Mahama was a first contender in the 2012 election, he competed as a sitting president as a results of the dead of Prez. Mills.3)No John has lost election in this country since 1992. John Mills lost to Kuffour because Kuffour is also call John. Think about it.

In my mind Bawumia and Dan Botwe will be a better ticket than Alan and anybody else. The analysis by the writer is right on the money except that most Ghanaians have come to the realization that NPP is always promoting Akans as flagbearers over any other ethnic group. In order to bring that notion to an end, Bawumia and Dan Botwe should be given the chance because both of them have their strengths and name recognition required to win national elections.
NPP can count on the strength of Bawumia's international experience in economics and finance as well tap Dan Botwe's political experience for a strong and formidable ticket in 2016 should Nana Addo decide not to run. Another factor is that both Bawumia and Dan Botwe are young, vibrant dynamic, well educated and good looking which means a lot in political circles.
