By and large, your analysis has proved accurate. In their ruling however some of the SC justices did indeed favour re-runs in the "areas" affected in their view. I have not always agreed with you but nonetheless respect your overall insightful take on things.
I personally found that surprising and still cannot understand why they would suggest that rather than ask for a RECOUNT in those affected areas. The voting pattern was at times worrisome from my point of view.
