'Gaisah is a professional athlete and was competing on his own, not for Ghana', which national colours did he compete in or wore and what country did represent, stop your gibberish.

All the writer is saying is that there is a difference between directly (formally) "working" on behalf of the nation and working as an individual who also happens to be Ghanaian. By your logic the farmer who gets hurt working on his farm should be compensated by Ghana. What the heck is insurance for?

I wish we got more articles like this on sports issues. At least it paints a useful picture for those who really care about athletics and don't care too much about politics to see the inner workings from the athletes side. Gaisah's decision to leave Ghana now makes a lot more sense to me. I forgot about the SWAG thing. Ghana was never have been big enough for him. I hope when his career is over, his new country still treats him well.

At least the writer makes assumptions supported by facts; the SWAG thing did happen. This story is not against or in support of him. Gaisah's story spans 2 different governments NPP and NDC therefore making blanket statements about corruption does not help us understand how we move forward. Your beloved football is more corrupt than all other sports. They survive because there is a lot more money to go around. Ghana and most countries always have corruption. The question is how we move forward. Trying to solve our problems require thoughtful analysis even if painful. Changes based on rush judgments about problem areas unrelated to a particular issue will not lead to a solution. Even if we stop corruption and there is still no money for lesser sports, Gaisah will have still left.

This article is full of half baked truths, infact it is a lot of bull,at no time during George Lutterodts time as chairman did Gaisah contemplate leaving Ghana and as for sport policy what exactly does he mean,he should stop being so fucking academic, the man has paid his dues to this country you want him to end up like most of the old athletes in Ghana living in abject poverty.Ghana is a mono sport country thletics, bpbasketball etc are insignificant to the authorities,This the only country in the world where Track and Field is classified as a lesser known sport,God help us.

This writer is full of shit, how do u expect us to be seduced by such a story when u cannot simply get his name change right, the fact remains that our sports in general is moving nowhere and has no vision. Gaisah has a vision and wants the best for himself and his family. We talk about patriotism yet our leaders in various institutions do nothing but leave us for dead when something goes wrong. I dont think u expected him to be taking all those wooden trophies and go broke. Its high time we start taking athletes and other individuals who sacrifice for our dear nation serious and reward them accordingly instead of some cheap wooden crap with no value...

All this politician comes in and make wealth for themselves but the sportmen of the country is always overlooked. i remembered in after winning 1982 cup of nations the players were giving a piece of cloth for that achievement while the runners up ( libya )was giving $50,000 dollars, most of the winning team member are struggling to make earns meet while those people that were heading the country at that time are well to do
