But in Ghana things are different and up to date relatives of Zongorians continue to migrate to Ghana to settle and claim citizenship immediately though some cannot speak a single local or indigenous language. I don't have much to say despite the the insults from the writer. I have always disagree with the writer on the basis of facts and the way he is trying to define Zongo is far from the truth. I am not going to deny the fact that we share certain things in common and that is not religion. I also agree that ins-pite the dynamism of the Zongo community, much has not said or written about and I consider the writer's initiative as a step in the right direction. The problem with Tanko is that he tend to be a bit bias and somehow wants to dilute the truth and I think that is unfair. I never appreciate the values instilled in me as a boy growing up in Zongo until we migrated to Europe where I realised that there is something unique about the that community that makes one resilient, adaptable,reasonable and very accommodating. I will encourage Tanko to widen is scope on the subject matter or better consult on certain issues and I can promise him the issues he is written about have the potency to serve a source of understanding how modern multiculturalism can flourish without us losing our individual identity. Remember that ' the optimist is right and the pessimist is also right, but each and everyone is right in his own way'

At least the evidence is there for all to see. If you come to Kumasi, every person from all tribes in Ghana are given equal opportunities to excel to their optimum.
Though there insults here and there, you will agree with me that insults is not the preserve of only Asantes. Every tribe in Ghana has its fair share of stereotype so you try to ignore it and move on. In Kumasi, the people have been under constant threat and violence from many young men who happen to be of Northern and Zongo origins but we treat the situation as a general economic and social canker. Have you heard of any group of Asantes visiting mayhem or issuing threats on any different tribe in Ghana? You see, we are not enemies, that is the message of Tanko. You can read all the comments on this forum and you will realize who really are the mischief makers and tribalists.
It is very sad when some people deliberately create divisions amongst us as if we are born and bred to hate people from other tribes. I remember with sadness when Kufuor after leaving office was verbally attacked and asked to go back to his native Ashanti by the so-called Ga-Adangbe youth. If all tribes begin to behave that way can you imagine what Ghana will be like?

Don't you realize that a belief that one looks down on you is the making of one's own mind and that results from low self esteem? I want to tell you guys that holding on to this nonsense of "Asantes look down on us" makes you feel inferior. Stop thinking that way because it is not good for the Northern psyche.
Remember that without Northerners and many other tribes, Asantes wouldn't be what we are today. We never forget the immense contributions of Razak, Malik Jabir, Baba Yara, Mfum, Sunday Ibrahim, Komfo Anokye, Amankwa Tia the Asante Army Commander (whose lineage owns the Bantama stool but I'm told he came from the North) etc.
If you dig carefully, you will know that all of us came from somewhere. Today I call myself an Asante but my late grandmother once told me that my ancestors were from a different tribe in Ghana. Who knows, your roots may be from Central, Eastern, Northern or Guinea, who knows and who cares?
