They have the final say does not mean they can come and tell that under number base ten, 1+1=3 and expect objective, reasoning people to acquiesce.
And don't forget: The SC judges are accountable to Ghanaians. They were voted/nominated there on behalf of Ghanaians. They earn their salaries through Ghanaian taxpayers.

If the verdict is just? Just to who? Concerned Ghanaians, Who determines that which is just? One must win and the other must loss so my brother, stop talking of just. That is what he has written extensively and quoted legal precedents to back. You can not choose what is just to you and call it justice because the other party is thinking the same justice. This is the kind of education we need. If you are not satisfied, go back for redress.

Thanks for your insightful article. However, it failed to mention justice, to explain the place of justice in the ongoing petition before the SC.
The important question which Ghanaians have refused to ask, let alone seek answers to, is: Are we seeking peace, or justice, or both? Sure no one goes to court to ask for peace, but rather to seek justice with the hope and belief that peace would prevail when justice is meted.
As you rightly stated, the SC's decision would (or maybe may) not favour one side. But if the SC delivers a "just" verdict, it would help Ghana's advancement. The losing party would ultimately come to understand. For as humans with intellects, our reasoning faculties would always or gradually lead us to understanding.
Peace without justice will never thrive. This is the undeniable law of nature which not even God himself will attempt to embark on!
Ghana must move in line with the two, together, if they want to see true progress!

The learned guy has just stated clearly that one of the two litigants in court will win and the other will lose this case. Now it is the civil duty of ALL Ghanaians to accept whatever the judges dish out to us as true citizens practicing democracy and move on to catapulting GHANA forward. We have suffered too much to be dabbling in this 'no justice no peace' and the 'koominini' you are still struggling with. Let's all accept the judges pronouncement and build a prosperous Ghana. Aren't you tired with the situation in our dear country?

It never ceases to amaze me how most so-called Ghanaian intellectuals are full of tautology, yet they always find a split audience in support of their nonsense. Imagine that many of our renowned Ghanaweb contributors were all in leadership positions today, would you trust their judgment and integrity? They would all be useless if not worse than our current bred of politicians.
Can any of you really imagine the number of brilliant minds Ghana has churned out since Nkrumah's rein, yet see the debacle we are in today 2013. We are a useless, loud, obnoxious and superficially intelligent race.
NPP should have never gone to the Supreme Court for litigation, if they would vilify the courts in the event that they lose the case. NDC frankly has more at stake and the right to rebel at the courts verdict, because they are the ones who will be at the mercy of the courts. NPP on the other hand, entrusted their entire fate unto the Supreme Court, and therefore have absolutely no right to any form of agitation, only disappointment.

The history of human civilization reveals that there has been and is always opposition to court rulings, some of them leading to appeals up to the highest court of those lands - the Supreme Court and at times the Supreme Court itself is made to review its own case because the rulings are not accepted by parties.
Cases in point are Tsatsu Tsikata against the State of Ghana in 2002 and the review that Mr. Martin Amidu is seeking for the case he took to court over the judgement debt's issue, among others.
So from the above there is no legal animal that says that no one has the right to oppose the rulings of courts, because if that animal exists, then, there the courts are not supposed to review their own rulings or the matter contested in a higher court after the ruling at the lower court.
Do some Ghanaians expect a mischief from the justices at the Supreme Court, hence their call that every Ghanaian without exception must accept the ruling of the Supreme Court.
The history of human civilization has shown that all oppressive socioeconomic systems were codified, defended legally by the judiciary and physically protected by the security services of the state.
Thus, why should those who are calling for Ghanaians to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court on the 2012 Presidential Elections still refer to Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, An Sui Tsui and others as their heroes, since they were put into prison for refusing to accept verdicts passed by apartheid, racial segregation and socialist courts, defending the system that they were set up to protect.
Dr. Daniel Korang, you may be a professor of law but your writing fall flat on the face because the history of human civilization has proved to the contrary. We shall call the title of your article "Poverty of Jurisprudence".
