These things do happen and in the same way that we will ignore Steves blooper as a natural disaster of minor proportions, he should also learn how to ignore the 'slip of pen - or mind' of others in kind.
The poverty that has been imposed on Africa for over 500 years has amongst other shortcomings, denied many of our brothers and sisters from enjoying the kind of quality education that would have enabled them to express themselves better. I know many people who would want to contribute on platforms like Ghanaweb but are unable to do so because they cannot write simple plain English. As sad as it is, it is also true and even tragic that in this information age there are many people who cannot access ICT because they cannot comprehend or write English.
What grates on my nerves however is some of the grossly exaggerated arrogant verbose on Ghanaweb from the Johnny-come-lately types like this Okoampa-Ahoofe chap.

I really don't see what all the fuss about Chinese illegal miners is all about. It seems to me that it is a small minority of people who have not had any appreciable level of international exposure or are simply prejudiced against the Chinese for their own personal reasons - including Antwi-Danso, who are making all this unpleasant noise about the Chinese.
We must all first of all recognize the steep inequalities that exist in human society and the unfair global economic order which makes it necessary for people from all countries, to travel in search of 'greener pastures', to other countries. There are many immigrants from even rich 1st World countries here in Ghana trying to make a better living for themselves.
It sickens me when I see Ghanaians behaving towards foreigners in the same way that racist white people treat us in their countries. Africans are a noble and welcoming people and even if these exceptional values have been mistaken as a weakness and used against us, we shouldn't so easily pick up the bad habits of those less fortunate human beings who must at all times make it seem that they are, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, superior.
Immigrants all over the world,because of their peculiar limitations in the countries they travel to, have the tendency to cut corners and break rules to survive or to achieve their dreams and that is how we should, without making any compromises, see the situation of the Chinese and Nigerians in Ghana.
Aside of Jews, Nigerians and Philippinos, I believe Ghanaians probably have the next largest and most widespread immigrant population around the world and we should therefore be careful about how we deal with the arising problems of immigrants in our own country. If we don't, and we go ahead with all this jingoistic and xenophobic (hostility against foreigners) language and attitude, the reprisals would simply be unmanageable and overwhelming.
And then again, lets be honest with ourselves. Ghanaians and especially Nigerian immigrants all over the world are probably the most obstreperous (disorderly and undisciplined). Off the top of my head, I can safely conjecture that over 80% of the estimated 2 to 5 million Ghanaian immigrants all over the world do not as much as have the most basic valid or genuine visa documents. We should therefore be the first to sympathize with the misdeeds or lapses of immigrants in our country.
If what Ghana did to the Nigerians and what the Nigerians promptly did to us in return a few decades ago has not taught us any lessons, then suffice it to say, "those who live in glass houses should not throw stones".

It is strange that Ahoofe has not, until now, complained about the countless and unforgivable times that the American, British, Gernman, French, Swiss, Italian Ambassadors/Embassies and other western countries have been making press releases/conferences and making overt interferences in our national affairs. I wonder why?
Just recently the Israeli Ambassador impudently made a public statement demanding that Ghana should not entertain the Iranian Head of state in our country. Can it get any worse than this? Yet I didn't hear of Okoampa-Ahoofe in these more serious instances of the open violation of our national pride and sovereignty. He has constantly metamorphosed into a deaf and dumb mouse on each of all those other instances.
If we replaced our prejudices and replaced it with fairness and equity in our relations with other countries - including those who have trampled on our rights for over 500 years, we can go a long way.

How many Ghanains can the Chinese kill if the citizens stand against the salvaging of their land by disregarding the licensing authorization. Surface mining should never be legalized. Can Ghana nationals go to China or any country that has its citizens in Ghana performing the surface mining abuse and do the same over there? Hope Dr. Ahoofe, Jr. will stop politicizing this serious matter, stop invoking Danquah and offer sensible guidelines for the government to consider before J. B. Danquah's remains are uprooted by the gold vultures. I know you dislike Mahama's administration which is humanly normal but this issue is neither NPP nor NDC. When the Israeli ambassador commented on the implications of the Iranian president's visit to Ghana, all guns started blazing. That should have been the response, or even worse, to the Chinese. Every country makes reasonable laws... for the progress of its citizens,to protect its citizens etc. This is not acceptable in any country. China investing in a country or giving loan does not mean its people must be giving the free ticket to mess that country up. The law-enforcement organs have done well by enforcing the law. The Chinese, like other nationals, are welcome to Ghana, and to do their business, but not to engage in clandestine and illegal activities.
It should be the corporate responsibility of citizens to help enforce the law, not the other way round.
