Ghana needs a strong and responsible opposition. It is only the NPP that can offer this opposition. However what we are currently having is a weak and indecisive party. A few individuals are holding the party to ransom and that is going to affect the fortunes of the party if nothing is done about it and immediately.
The NPP is too tribalistic and divisive. It has NO VISION and so cannot think strategically. It depends on short termism . That it has survived for so ong shows the paucity of the electorate. Thye cannot find solutions , cannot build factories , cannot farm nor runanything properly. Please spare us. The earlier CPP steps up the better so we can marginalize the tribal extremists.

Yeah Haruna- well done. You have made my day. Despondency has gripped a host of NPP members and we have got to wake up.

Are there any competent people in the NPP?
Any party that wants to live by the sword will surely be killed by it's own sword.

Why is this writer worry about the future of the NPP, if they know they have a good case to win at the SC? Or have they now realised that tey have bite more than the can chew? The NPP is doomed and doomed forver because of one man´s selfish interest supported by his clan men, the Akyems. To majority of us, the Npp is a mere family organization and nothing else. With all what they have taken Ghanaians through and continue to this stage, only their family members would vote for them in any future elections, not to talk about the chaos that awaits the election of the leader,as to whether a none Akan would be give the chance this time around to lead it. Whatever it is, the NPP is doomed anf doomed forever.

Haruna, Why waste your ink?. The day the Akyems succeeded in making the party's chairman as part of the petitioners was when the signs were written on the wall. Busia said half educated person is dangerous and so is Jake. Please blame Jake for failing to see that he was being tricked to sell his crown for an appearance in court. The NPP is in a constitutional limbo as the document did not make room for who becomes the leader of the party when the chairman and the flag bearer go to court to challenge an election results. The NPP consttution only revert the leadership to the chairman after the flag bearer looses an election. Now the chairman and the flag bearer donot accept that the party loss the election how can one invoke the article to make Jake the leader to organise the party after the election? If one thinks education is costly one should ask Jake. All must be blamed for allowing a dummy like Jake to be the party chairman. Bye

Mr. Haruna Mahama, you hit the nail right on the coffin but, i do not believe you should blame the NPP supporters for their intolerance and insults directed at some of the decent members whose aim was to offer genuine critism in building a united party. The problem lie squarely at the feet of the party,s leadership of Nana Akufo Addo who lacks respect and can make silly, ethnocentric comments including Kennedy Agyapong,s, The Awukus, Ursla Owusu(Vuvuzela), Kwadjo Owusu Afriyie and expect those you hold in contempt to vote for you? Instead of the party,s leadership to change their entrenched attitude and behaviour in order to reflect on the entire rank and file of the party, they refused to change. And it is this same attitude which caused them the 2012 election which will do them again, come 2016!!

When ever NPP or the Dumbo-Danquah-Busia party is in opposition, democracy is at its best. This is not a hyperbole, it is real. What goes on after Elections 2012 is a testament of this. Now , we have to test our judiciary. How will independence of the judicairy play out in this particular case. This election dispute has gained traction and the whole world is watching Ghana. The judges have their integrity to protect and democracy is at stake here. Second, the case has the potential of building into strong stature this institution of democracy.
It is good development, and we have to hail the NPP for their actions.
