The Attorney General, Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong is a highly respected woman with absolute integrity.I personally know her.She is ten times better than previous attorney generals who would connive with contractors to dupe us in the area of judgement debts.Try her and you would regret! You people who write ill about her, have not even met her personally. She is not like one of those who would team up with Former President Kufuor appoint extra Supreme Court Judges and embark on a Review just to be able to convict an innocent person.

Only the best is good enough for our dear nation especially in this perilous and delicate times of our history. The writer, Ebenezer Hagan is not questioning her integrity or competence. As the Attorney General she must perform her duties without fear or favor. So far she appears to be intimidated by those who parade the corridors of power and she'd rather chicken out than step on giant toes. The AG under the present circumstances cannot be trusted to fulfill her constitutional mandate to the best of her natural, intellectual, and professional abilities and she'd be doing the nation and herself a great favor by tendering in her resignation. There's no peace in Ghana because there's no justice. The streets and businesses especially of New York and Chicago used to be controlled by the mob who had powerful friends wielding immense political power and influence but it took fearless and honest men and women of the law enforcement fraternity to make these cities and others what they are today. We dont need a go with the flow, pliant Attorney General who'll do whatever the President and those around him wants.

Ebenezer Hagan has always been a stooge since from school, and unfortunately that hasn't change at all! What a useless piece. What at all do you know about this wonderful lady? Wise up you fool!

I recollect when this woman was a panel member of those charged to handle the Ghana@50 probe. She and her other panel members were so useless that at the end of the day it was rather Wereko-Brobbey who was lecturing them on the basic tenets of law.
If the woman was really an honest woman, she should have just simply refused to take up the job on account of the glaring conflict of interest issue of the law firm she belonged to and leading members of the current govt

Kwame you're right about questioning the type of education we receive. Most of our leaders were educated in some of the greatest and famous institutions in the world yet they don't seem to have any clue when they are elevated to positions of trust and high responsibility. What is the use of education if we cannot use it to better our living conditions?

The wise woman is indeed living by the rules of the game. She wants no conflict of interest, period.
The ignorant ones will see no sense in this.

"She wants no conflict of interest" so criminals should go free? If she fears being blamed then she does not qualify for the job - she stands for Justice or the Truth" so if she is honest she will judge honestly without fear.

This article tries very hard to appear balanced and thoughtful but ends up merely laying bare its clear bias.
In both the cases that he refers to, the Attorney General clearly identifies a potential coflict of interest which, if ignored, could not possibly serve the interest of justice in any objective sense.
Yet the writer accuses her of a dereliction of duty for pursuing the most honourable course in these instances. I know who I would entrust the high office of the Attorney General to and it would neither be the writer, nor anyone he might care to recommend!
