I think Sarpong has written a very good article or touched on a topic that most arent willing to tackle. I didnt quite understood it when ppl used to accuse Togolese of infiltrating into Ghana back in the days. I was always in disagreement with them because most of the time ppl failed to differentiate b/n Ghanaian Ewes and togolese Ewes hence grouping them together which was a danger to national cohesion.
However after interacting with a couple of Togolese who had made Ghana their home since Nkrumah times and have no home other than where they were born born and riased I had come to the conclusion that the problem is real. The sad part is that on my last visit home I realized that as Ghana becomes more and more stabilized immigrants from the West African sub region have over floorded the coutry.
Its no longer as issue of Togolese anymore, there are now Malians, Ivorians, Burkinabes, Nigerians, Indians, Chinese, and Lebanese who arent just making thier way into the economic areas of Ghana but also infiltrating into politics. Its becoming very difficult to point accusing fingers at them because most of them were born and raised in Ghana. They have no other home other Ghana.
The problem is real but not until we come up with laws as those in the Western world to check and classify new immigrants as legals, illegals or whatever and develop a path way to citizenship with well secured borders we will continue to encounter this problem beyond our control.
Its a natural phenomena that people will always relocate to where they think the grass is greener and for now that is the midset of ppl in the region concerning Ghana.

Are you calling for the same thing for this Mr Yammin? What was your reaction when Obama was being called all sorts of names and caricatures emerged with him in tattered clothes and being told to "go back to your country"? If like me, you were upset and saddened by that, why are you now leading the charge against Yammin? Don't you think that is hypocritical of you? Should it really matter that someone born in Ghana, carrying a Ghana passport, educated, qualified and with the right skills to lead should "prove" he is not a "Fulani" to be allowed to serve? We also have Nobel laureate Maya Angelou whose roots are from Ghana, yet celebrated in America.
Recently, I listened to the compelling story of Dr Kofi Obeng, an excellent maxillo-facial surgeon at Johns Hopkins doing wonders, from humble Ghanian beginnings including "hustling" in the USSR. By the way, one of the finest obstetrician/gynaecologists in Ghana with an excellent record at Korle-Bu where he is consultant is my friend Dr Ali, who looks very much like Yammin, also hails from the border town of Hamele in the Upper West Region and is very much GHANAIAN whose father was once a serving policeman!!!
The trouble with you Justice as I keep saying, and will repeat here as a genuine friend, is that you only see things through certain narrow lenses. It is that which is 'killing us' as a nation. It has done since pre-independence times and with your education and privileged position, you should be helping to change those mindsets, stereotypes and a mentality which is a canker in our DNA causing our progress as a ONE NATION to stagnate.
If indeed Mr Yammin told a story about why he was "refused" enlistment in the army "because he looked foreign and the officer did not want another Rawlings", don't you think you should put this in context and from a neutral point of view, really analyse and reflect on the sadness of his plight because someone could be so prejudicial and use one's "skin colour" or perceived origin to discriminate against them or exclude them from serving their country?
I am on a moral, ethical and developmental crusade to help change mindsets in Ghana and Africa and to help us work together for our common good. Please join me. When I address issues of tribe, it is not because I want to "defend" a particular set of people, but because I want to point out why it is not right nor proper or helpful to use people's tribe to condemn or discriminate against them.
I also detest and find it most sad that some people would resort to very graphic vitriolic insults of whole tribes and peoples through the social media as I have recently read of "poems" which lack satire, metaphor or context and merely disguised extreme tribal hatred, bigotry and an attempt to injure the pride of others via cheap shots. I have contemplated contacting those who employ and pay the wages of such people in order to alert them to the fact that they have 'fascists' in their midst of whom they ought to be careful but have rather advised myself against it for now, but for how much longer? Please let us steer away from this base, unhelpful and quite frankly disgraceful attitude that people like you seem to adopt at will. Let us work together to change all this.....SMILE, yes, its me Paul! Are you surprised?

Yammin has given a scant information about himself and seems to be hiding something and that is significant. Maybe you know more about this man than the information he has provided and you can help me find more about him which I will gladly welcome. Usually people when they go to these vettings reveal their educational background which is the basic standard of introduction for these jobs. He has told us where his mother is from but unless you want to be blinded by political affiliation, this guy does not look like a normal Ghanaian so a little background could help like where his father is from.
Rawlings told the whole world his father was from Scotland and his mother from Volta Region and he is a Ghanaian. Why can't he tell us where his father is from? I still do understand this is going to be tough because we do not have an advance system where background history of citizens are kept from birth.
I think Sarpong has written a very good article or touched on a topic that most arent willing to tackle. Its unfortunate the article has taken an emotional turn instead of ppl analyzing the contents critically. I didnt quite understood it when ppl used to accuse Togolese of infiltrating into Ghana back in the days. I was always in disagreement with them because most of the time ppl failed to differentiate b/n Ghanaian Ewes and togolese Ewes hence grouping them together which was a danger to national cohesion.
However after interacting with a couple of Togolese who had made Ghana their home since Nkrumah times and have no home other than where they were born born and riased I had come to the conclusion that the problem is real. The sad part is that on my last visit home I realized that as Ghana becomes more and more stabilized immigrants from the West African sub region have over floorded the coutry.
Its no longer as issue of Togolese anymore, there are now Malians, Ivorians, Burkinabes, Nigerians, Indians, Chinese, and Lebanese who arent just making thier way into the economic areas of Ghana but also infiltrating into politics. Its becoming very difficult to point accusing fingers at them because most of them were born and raised in Ghana. They have no other home other Ghana.
The problem is real but not until we come up with laws as those in the Western world to check and classify new immigrants as legals, illegals or whatever and develop a path way to citizenship with well secured borders we will continue to encounter this problem beyond our control.
Its a natural phenomena that people will always relocate to where they think the grass is greener and for now that is the midset of ppl in the region concerning Ghana.

He did not mentio who his father was/is. That information is NOT good enough to establish citizenship:Well, brothers and sister from Wa or Kumasi areas, your country nees your help to establish Yamin's citizenship claim. NONE of his features dipicts that of a Ghanaian.
Our country is being ruled by fools now. Gone are the Busias who saved us from being overtaken by foreigners. Ghana is re-visiting that trend again: Today, foreigners have virually INVADED Ghana and violating our laws and citizens with impunity, thanks to docile immigration officers who allow into Ghana anybody that knock at the country's doors.
WE need a politician with foresight like Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia (of blessed memory) to rectify the situation.
