To make a lot of money is their priority not to save any lives because no doctors in their right mind will do what they are doing by watching for innocent people to die because of unpaid money.

CAN YOU SURVIVE WITHOUT YOUR SALARY FOR A MONTH? THESE DOCTORS HAVE RESPONSIBILITIES i.e. family, children to look after just like YOU. Reason before you speak or write. Dont speak before reasoning.

Government should decentralise health administration in the country. Each Hospital Trust should negotiate pay conditions with doctors based on the budget allocated to them by Government.
Doctors should stop seeing Government as an automatic employer. They may have to apply to the various hospitals based on job vacancy in the various fields of speciality. There is no point in having 6 ENT specialists in a hospital that requires just two. The excess should be redeployed.
I will also propose that the first point of call should be private clinics who would then use the hospitals as referral centres. If doctors want employment they sought employment from private hospital trusts instead of government that is also held at ransome.
Free market forces will force down the wages of doctors. Most of them are not good anyway and irresponsible. The free ride enjoyed by the bad ones should cease.
Finally there should be constant perfomance review of their practise to weed out the bad ones who do not deserve their wages.
The same should apply to teachers too.

And also to all employees of the state and to everybody who is paid for the job they do. Even MPs and drivers, and in fact everybody should make changes. Nobody works to deadline in Ghana so if you talk of free ride, you are right. Where you are getting it wrong is when you single out doctor and teachers. There should be hard work but so should everyone including parents. They should also take responsibility for part of their children's learning. This is what is needed; total correction for wholesale change .

Anytime this issue is propped up, FWSC successfully relied on public outcry against the "inhumane" Doctors.
Now we are in 2013, and talking about arrears from the whole 2012, and you and I are using the tear glands to once again push the Doctors where they don't belong. Just because somebody from government is telling us "there is no money".
How did they just pay politicians ESB to the tune of 200,000 and more Ghana Cedis per person? How was the Housing allowances of 50,000 per parliamentarian paid? How was their vehicle allowance paid?
No, our politicians want to tell us they are the only persons worth being paid in Ghana.
I wonder, for how many months our Politicians are going to forfeit their salaries and other benefits, just because "there is no money"
