i have always maintained that the fact the you are paid to talk does not necessarily mean you must talk. that is exactly what is happening and the conflicting signal from government is quite worrying. in one breadth the prez is appealing for calm heads for the problem to be resolved. in another breadth, government functionaries are spitting fire. how do we address such a volatile situation in such a manner.
personally i think that organized labor seem to have lost the goodwill towards this government primarily because of the payment of ex-gratia to mps.
once the prez in his sessional address indicated that the meat was down to the bone, most people expected some serious austerity measures but alas what did we see.
i wish them good luck.

What's idiotic about this article- the fact that government has got its priorities wrong or that government communicators are doing a poor job?

Afadi, Akilu is a political neophyte, an agent-provocateur, an inept writer and a traitor to the northern cause...the doctors have every right under the sun to embark on a strike if they feel their demands for better pay are not met by the authorities; conversely, the government has every right under the sun to reject unreasonable demands for pay raises from the doctors....it is a two-way street and the best solution is for the two parties to meet each other half-way....Akilu like the rest of Mahama's detractors is plenty aggrieved because his party lost the election and he Akilu failed miserably to win a parliamentary seat....it is indeed sad to see a northerner rail against another northerner who is trying hard to right the ship of state.....

All of you dont seem to be able to read the signs of the times or connect the dotted line. Now that we have barely survived the chinese rape pepeni has sold the country through the racist American ambassador to GE to exploit us and put us back not decades like they did to nkrumah but centuries never to recover again. we are now slaves and beggars in our own country. the wealth of the nation especially that of the Akans will now be siphoned out by placing this impossible burden and other yokes on our backs just so 5000mw can be paid. they are not offering us sustainable growth like they did for their former enemies the germans and japanese but we who gave our best in Burma will now be humiliated and bossed around , exploited and broken till we are just thank God for air we may have to breath. our hearts will now be broken as we stand no chance against this evil . they tried to take our oil but mills and the ahvois stopped this now they take everything under the guise of bringing investors , where is our Hugo Chavez or Che Guevara now ? they were given the akosombo and alumina business so we could pay for our sustainable growth through the sale of 99.99% pure aluminum but in their hatred based on racism they gave us what was not sustainable and are the root cause of all our problems today . mills chose the chinese who gave us their scum and criminals but pepeni has linked up with the most toxic of multinationals , God is on our side and we will show them soon

Well said Sayibu, it's unbelievable what's happening in this country. We and the doctors will soon or later be on the 'Akonfems' menu since our brains will be deforming as a result of sickness.
