It is not surprising that the article is coming from a Ghanaian who finds it comfortable to live in a racist country like the UK. A country that consistently violates all known international treaties - especially against weaker countries but finds it alright to point accusing fingers at others. Badu's article is befuddled, hypocritical, unprincipled inconsistent and shy of truth.
It is a fact that all countries worth their name - through their embassies, friendship associations or even international organizations, strive, through diplomatic overtures, public interventions and the like, to get good or better deals for their citizens or countries in other countries. Thats why embassies and frienship organizations are established. And that is why some countries like America can impose their weight on others not to try American criminals in Ghana but to send them back to America obviously for more favorable trials. Of course this doesnt happen with failed countries such as Ghana where our embassy staff seem to be on a permanent first class holiday - all expenses paid for.
All the convoluted hogwash Mr Badu has written in his article amounts to nothing more than the rabid effusions of an unliberated slave fighting not for his interests, but for the interests of his economically lagging fortunes of his slave master whose nutritious feeding grounds have been recently invaded by the Chinese.
Ghana may have willy-nilly signed more international treaties than any other country in the world but to what avail - what do we see on the ground? Over 70% of Ghanaians do not have access to the most simple, basic or common facilities such as potable water, work, decent housing or even toilets - over 50 years after independence.
If the equally befuddled Ghanaian media who are also in the front-line of fighting for the interests of our slave masters, were to put on their thinking caps on, perhaps they would realize that the totality of the Chinese misdemeanors in Ghana amount to virtually nothing considering that after over two hundred years in the gold, timber, diamond and bauxite industries for instance, both our imperialist 'masters' and our various govts have very little to show for our interest. This is what we should be complaining about. It is these sorts of things that should find front page coverage in our papers because that is where our sovereign loss is greatest.
Now we say - or we think we have oil and all we are getting out of it is only 12% of revenue. Seriously speaking, can we beat our chest as sensible people and say that we have oil? Of course not. Other people have our oil and we have fuckall.
After over 500 years of slavery, colonialism and neo-colonialism with absolutely nothing to show for it except chaos, increased poverty and mayhem, the Chinese miracle is clearly and obviously the only option left for the future of Africa and we must manage it well. Some of us have been weaned off the addiction of subservience and we will continue to strive to get the best not only for Ghana but for the long suffering people on the continent of Africa.

Having read your response to Badu's fine article, I am inclined to think yours is full of balderdash, and can best be described as dribbles of a rummy or a guzzler. Yes, you are entitled to criticise the author, however, you have no right to insult him, by calling him all sorts of cognomens,--unliberated etc.
Again, how on earth can you tag this fine article as 'rubbish'? Yours is just a risible proclivity, in the sense that your exegesis has no linkage to what Badu is seeking to espouse. You are just a lost soul. Honestly, you are behaving like a souce who has just returned from his indulgence!
Yes, the Chinese menace is real and I salute the author for coming to the defence of our security services, who are coming under gratuitous attacks from unpatriotic bunch of clowns like yourself. Of course, ratifying a treaty means little, but it shows a country is prepared to adhere to such convention. I am sure you are cognisant of the fact that Ghanaians are not hostile to foreigners.
Indeed, the Chinese immigrants are breaking our laws,--they have no right to mine our natural resources illegally. Small-scale mining is reserved for Ghanaians, and this is the pith of Badu's article. It is fuddling that you can attack Badu who is only seeking to defend his country. Who do think you are? Just get a grip, and have a life because you are out of order!

Little minds regurgitate little wisdom. Since when is the reference to someone as unliberated an insult? Hiding behind inappropriate verbose which you evidently don’t fully understand the meanings yourself but have used in your small-minded contribution which does not address my earlier concerns, will not solicit any understanding of your warped views.
Of course Personnel of our security services institutions will enthusiastically go and arrest individual Chinese illegal miners and make a big deal out of it to prove and show to those foreign countries whose interests are being threatened by the Chinese economic expansion into their traditional feeding grounds that they are serving their interests in return for their paltry handouts and gifts. However they will never go out and arrest citizens of other particular foreign countries who have for many decades been the cause of major damage to our economy and the development of our country. This is because, the level of economic subterfuge and underhand dealings of the latter with which they continue to subtly perpetuate on us through international treaties from organizations such as the WTO, are too sophisticated or complicated for people like yourself to understand or to be left in the hands of our security services. Secondly, because our security institutions have become hopelessly dependent on and subservient to those who occasionally throw second-hand rickety equipment such as outdated patrol boats and planes at them, they are compromised and reluctant to take action on the more serious crimes that those foreigners inflict on us as a country. On the few occasions that citizens of such countries are arrested in Ghana – even on minor issues which are lesser than the infringement of illegal mining, what has happened? Before you can say jack, they are surreptitiously flown out of the country with the collusion of their embassies and our own officials of state to escape the law.
Your basic difficulty and the problem that I have with people who think like you is that you make it seem that the world as it is today is too complicated for you to understand and yet, you seem to be defiantly content with that naive mind-set to the extent that you even have the nerve to confront and vilify better knowledge and those who try to bring you up to date into the real world. If you still don’t understand what Im saying, let me attempt to bring the subject down to earthly terms in the hope that it might serve to redeem you from your blissful stature of ignorance. You appear to be the kind of person who is prone to thinking that pick-pockets are a threat to society and they must be lynched at the least opportunity whilst at the same time, you gleefully opt to vote for patently corrupt and incompetent politicians who by default of their woeful ineptitude and endless corrupt activities, are the ones who are the architects of our backward economic condition that creates pick-pockets and armed robbers who resort to illegal means to survive.
At no point in my contribution did I imply or openly assert that Chinese immigrants should be allowed to pursue their illegal activities. My argument is that their illegal activities are minor, compared to the more serious ones which are hardly ever raised in the public domain but which are being discreetly carried out by our so-called former slave and colonial ‘masters’ in collusion with corrupt local politicians. In fact I wonder if you even read my contribution at all. I also wonder, by your personal outburst, if you are not the selfsame Badu.
By the way what do you mean by the following, 'risible proclivity' and 'exegesis' and 'it is fuddling' and 'cognomens' and 'dribbles of a rummy' and a 'souce who has just returned from his indulgence' and 'gratuitous attacks'? Also, was Badu 'seeking to espouse' anything or was he just presenting some views of his? My friend where did you go to school? Truly, a little learning is dangerous.

Clearly you are a sad victim of bad governance and poor education of latter years. Why should you aim at finding out who I am and proceed to disparage my integrity instead of making a competent and critical analysis of my contribution and the issue at hand? In the process, you unwisely name someone who has nothing at all to do with this discussion and slander him in the evil wish that he is me. I think if you have any modicum of good upbringing and respect in you, you should immediately apologize to that person. This misconduct alone tells me that you are intellectually incompetent to take part in this very important discussion. You have presented yourself to be the kind who is better suited for an apketeshie bar brawl so go there and take a tot.

Off course there are compliance rule we can modified ..the law on small scale mining is outmoded ..the modern reallity means small scale mining require average logistic..I know more about Mining than you..also signed treaty are useless when it comes to Africa..do you know if any African state will pass human rights test ...we can test on all fronts ...it's let ral not emotional.

Having experienced how Ghanaians and other Africans plus their own ethic minorities are treated by the Chinese I don't believe they deserve any concessions. Their only interest is to make as much money as they can without any regard for human rights, the environment or anything else. As long as they obey the rules and regulations of the country they are in the Chinese should be allowed to stay but no concessions can be made for such flagrant disregard for the laws of Ghana.

The present Ghana government is too welcoming, too attractive to unwanted illegal Chinese criminals. These chinese crooks must be rounded up and sent back to China as soon as they found plying their illegal trade in mining areas. We all know how the Chinese want to dump their criminal elements here on the Africa continent - soon it will be another all out struggle, fighting to get rid of these criminals out of Ghana and other suffering African Countries. There is no way Ghana should soft on the Chinese who disrespect our laws, because the Chinese in reverse would do even worse to foreign criminals in China.

They come to Ghana as businessmen, flood our markets with shoddy Chinese products, defile our lands, pollute our rivers and streams, bribe their way through the halls of government, bribe corrupt chiefs and hire "fronters" for them. The Chinese have been rather callous in their activities in Ghana. Gold mining, carrying Guns and harassing locals. Enough Is Enough! Neo Colonialism ended in 1957. It seems our corrupt governments of the NDC, NPP and CPP have Aided and Abetted these deplorable acts in Ghana. Kick them Out!! Parade Them in The Papers! Kick out the Pakistanis, Lebanese, Europeans, Asians and Any foreigner that refuses to respect our natural resources and rules. Dear honorable president:
We're taking this opportunity as Ghanaian community in China to call on the president to be very intelligent on how these Chinese are interfering into out Motherland.
We're just wondering why African leaders are too GOOD to entertain these Chinese in our lands whiles they (the Chinese) don't want We Africans in their country.
African leaders seems totally deaf ears and unconcern about how these (Chinese) are maltreating African nationals in their country. If you have ever lived in China, live with a Chinese or know how Chinese think about Africans you never entertain them in your community !
But Ghana leaders have given them free opportunity to engage in ILLEGAL living and mining, holding GUNS, killing people and misbehaving in Ghana.
millions of African including Ghanaians living and working in this country (China) are living ILLEGALLY. Whiles thousands have got their traveling documents and visas expired. Why? because the Chinese government have refused giving them the appropriate document to live legally.
They've refuse giving us: living documents, visas, jobs, the don't regard Africans as Humans, even in some areas, they don't give rent to Africans. They prefer giving work documents to (white) STREET GUYS than to a professional and qualified African.
(1) OVERSTAYED FOREIGNERS IN CHINA 98% of overstayed foreigner in china are Africans Why? because the Chinese authorities have refuse giving them visa extension, work and appropriate living documents. Million of them are willing to return home peacefully but can't due to invalid documents. And they (these Chinese) are requesting Ghana's immigration amendment ? Really? Mr. president, Better make them Ghanaian nationals !! asem b3ba dabi !! God safe this nation !! Where exactly is this chamber from ? who and where does it belongs to?
WHATS THE CAUSE OF ALL THESE MESS?
I contacted one of the police stations in the Guangdong province a city near Guangzhou where the majority of Africans live, concerning the Cause and how to SOLVE these problem. the answer the immigration officer gave as follows:
(1) AFRICAN LEADERS ALWAYS LIKE BEGGING. THEY DON'T HAVE ANY INDEPENDENT GOVERNANCE.
(2)AFRICAN LEADERS,ORGANIZATIONS AND EMBASSIES ARE UN-FUNCTINABLE AS COMPARE TO OTHER WORLDS
(3) AFRICANS ARE CRIMINAL AND HAVE NO SPECIFIC IDENTIFICATION.
(4) AFRICA IS AN UNDEVELOPED CONTINENT AND ITS NATIONALS CAN'T HAVE ANY EXPERT OR PROFESSIONALS.
The questions here are: (1)For how long will we Ghanaians continue to beg them to help us ? (2)Don't we have resources? (3)Don't we have local constructors and engineers? (4)Are we not humans we them? (5) Can't we develop our own country? (6) For how long will we continue to import foreign constructors to develop our country, whiles they don't do it as quality as theirs? (7) Giving contracts to local engineers isn't it economical than importing foreigners?
(8)If Ghana and China have any relationship or friendship, why Ghanaian nationals are having problem in China?
(9) if Chinese are requesting Ghana's immigration policy amendment, Have they amend their policy on Ghanaians living, working and businessmen in China?
it's now time African leaders to be wise, vigilant and intelligent. Focus on modern self help development. STOP BEGGING, STOP BORROWING ! because the more we Beg for help the more they discredit us. the more we borrow from them, the more they disrespect us and look down us !
it's now time for AFRICAN LEADERS, EMBASSIES,ECOWAS NATIONALS,to arise and protect the good name of their countries and citizens. Rescue those in China police custody ! Rescue those in critical situation.
Because if we don't fight solve these now, it will affect us now and our descendants in the future.

I share your sentiments. I have been wondering whether if Chinese ex-convicts are being shipped over to Ghana. That group should back off and allow the immigration service to do their job.
They are in patriotic.

The fact of the matter is,the indigenes are colluding with the Chinese to steal our natural resources. I suggest the right thing to do is for the government to suspend the small-scale mining licences.
Sectors reserved for indigenes are for them. Hiding behind indegenes does not make a foreigner indegene. The chinese are busy marrying Ghanaian girls for papers, but papers or no papers small scale mining is for GHANAIANS onl ...

Baud thank you for the good article. Hope the security services would remove all aliens from the small scale mining sector ASAP. We must protect our water bodies and Shea trees.
I support your stance,we should try and encourage our security services to arrest and deport the offenders.
Why debate on this issue? Is Ghana for China? Deport these Chinese back to China.
