This is about the funniest joke I have come across in a long time! To mention Nana Addo and the Nobel Peace Prize in the same breath is a contradiction.
Certainly not for such an aggressive personality who thinks nothing of inciting his followers to inter-tribal violence and ethnic hatred, His infamouos 'all die be die ' rant was followed by his failure to apologise and condemn Kwabena Agyapong's call on Akans to kill Gas and Ewes.
Happily, the Nobel Prize Committee does not take this article into consideration when assesing possible awards.

John Hamilton, you are really funny and not serious at all to have spent your precious time garnishing Nana Addo with accolades of peace.
Have you forgotten so soon that his first choice was violence? He is the disgraced leader who created all these unnecessary characterization of the election as rigged.
Knowing he is politically dead, he embarked on this unwarranted journey of contesting the results just to appease his followers and also as a face-saving exercise in order not to politically die sudden but slowly with time.
If you really are praying for a peace award to be bestowed upon a Ghanaian, Nana is nowhere near the 25 million Ghanaians. I would ask that you pray it goes to Rev. Asante of the peace council and possibly with his council members.
Nana Addo as far as Ghana's politics is concerned; he is now a political trash!

Have you heard of JUSTICE ABBAN before? If yo want to reward someone in line with the UNIGOV Referendum, JUSTICE ABBAN is the man. Nana Akuffo Addo, GW Amarteifio, Okatakyie AA Afrifa, Komla Agbeli Gbedema etc were people who led the PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT FOR FREEDOM & JUSTICE, to defend the "NO" symbol.

One noble Ghanaian by name Dr Kwame Amoako Tuffuor took the Government to court. I do not remember seeing any record that Nana Akuffo Addo took the Government to court.

I have long been stating that Nana Akufo-Addo has been, for most of his career in Ghana, a Champion of democracy. Every day more and more people, more and more followers recognise the vision. He is not only a Champion of democracy; now the chorus whispers: Nobel Laureate.
He has been there all this time attending to his work:
2.4: General Ignatius Acheampong: It should be noted that on January 13, 1972, General Ignatius Acheampong was the leader of the coup that removed Dr. Kofi Busia, who was the pretender to the birth of democracy in Ghana, Busia was the new head of state, while Edward Akufo Addo was the ceremonial President of Ghana. After removing Busia, Acheampong would remain in power for six years—1972-1978. During those six years: Nana Addo practiced in Paris until ’75 and then returned to practice in Ghana.
2.5: Akufo-Addo’s Tenacity. Akufo-Addo came back from practicing International Law in Paris in 1975. Later in 1977 Akufo-Addo challenged the authority of General Acheampong’s administration. In the courts Akufo-Addo made a legal confrontation with the military administration, attacking it on the basis of Jurisprudence and Legal Precedent. Most often military dictatorships create conflict with citizens who believe in democracy. Military personnel are used to dealing in contexts of command, which are diametrically opposed to the principals and tenets of majority rule. Generally military dictators are completely against democratic rule; military dictators generally prefer to be the cooks that get the perk of command along with any loose dollars. Once a military dictator decides a person is an advocate of democracy, that advocate becomes a target. And so, Akufo-Addo became a target. After the court action had begun with Akufo-Addo’s constitutional defenses, pressure was placed on those who wanted to see democracy and constitutional law prevail. Two judges and a military officer were killed. Akufo-Addo happened to be in London when the assassinations occurred and he was advised to remain in exile in London and he remained there for a strategic period a year and a half. A good attorney is an advocate and Nana Addo is a good advocate and a fighter for Constitutional Rule and democracy. This kind of skilled advocacy is a very important attribute in a nation that has experienced military rule. Akufo-Addo spent many years teaching himself how to deal with conflict.
Generally speaking, the answer a military dictator will give to an opinion that differs from his opinion will be ‘No,’ the advocacy required to change a military dictator’s no into a yes is much more complex than the advocacy required to change a judicial no into a yes.
Being an advocate Akufo-Addo knew that even in the most difficult advocacy context the line of communication must be maintained and so Nana Addo used the BBC to maintain his line of communication while in exile. The ability to communicate remains an advocacy-bridge and the purpose of being heard is to move a no toward a maybe and ultimately a yes.
In 1978 the military removed General Acheampong.
2.6: Lieutenant General Akuffo. In 1978 Acheampong was removed by Lieutenant General Akuffo who promised to hold a civilian election in 1979. With Akuffo a new corrective military administration was brought in to run the government; during the following months the new constitution was unveiled and the six-year ban against political parties that had existed under the Acheampong regime was lifted. The Akuffo administration that had been set up after the removal of Acheampong set the date for the proposed election in 1979.
2.7: The Paladins of Democracy. “Like J.B. Danquah, B.J. da Rocha, Peter Ala Adjetey and others before him, Nana used his law practice to champion the cause of Human Rights, the Rule of Law, Justice, Freedom and Democracy.” All of the above contributed to Nana and his associates to becoming Paladins of democracy. Nana Akufo-Addo fought for the rights of Ghanaians. In 1975 he had turned his back on a potentially very lucrative international law career and was ready to fight for the essential privilege of democracy and establishing the foundation and the ways in which a strong Ghanaian democracy and free enterprise oriented economy could be developed. It would have been easy for Nana Akufo-Addo to continue a lucrative practice with the international law firm, Coudert Freres, in Paris France, he had been there from 1971 onwards. But, in 1975, he had left Paris to return to Accra to fight for Freedom, Justice and a novel practice of democracy, which would be born out of a history of a one party democracy and subsequent years of military control.
When Nana Addo decided to Co-found Akufo-Addo Prempeh & Co., he crossed a bridge that would take him away from a primary European law practice; he had truly come home and he was ready. He had become involved in politics and had begun working on developing both his involvement in the matters of Ghana and leadership in politics. And that process of planning his involvement in Ghana politics caused Nana Addo to dream in a bigger way. Because Nana Addo wanted to be a leader he tended to have larger dreams than most people because he was thinking as a man who wanted to think as a leader of a nation. Because he was thinking and dreaming bigger, not merely for a client, or a law firm, but for millions of people in Ghana all together and as one, because of this greater context of thought, he saw more expansive possibilities and conclusions. Because Nana Addo thought as a leader he couldn't accept the economic conditions of Ghana, he wanted to envision ways of improving the Ghana economy.
2.8: Perseverance & Selfless Service. After returning to Ghana to practice Law, in 1975, and upon being admitted to the Ghana Bar; Akufo-Addo began to exemplify his abilities and successful qualities. With Nana Addo back in Ghana his Ghana practice had begun; he rapidly filled his agenda and chronology; a chronology of selfless political sacrifice and service. “In 1977, Nana Addo was 33 and at that time Akufo-Addo, was acting as the General Secretary of the Peoples Movement for Freedom and Justice (PMFJ), which was an all-embracing political entity formed by Okatakyie Akwasi Afrifa, and was part of the leadership that campaigned in his attempt to win a 'No' vote in the Referendum on the ill-fated UNIGOV proposal sponsored by the Acheampong military junta.”
2.9: The Significance of Nana’s Return. In essence when Nana Addo left his international law practice in Paris he was giving up a continuum of immediate, very substantial, income, for the possibility of building a constituency in Ghana that he could serve. While some Ghanaians would prefer to be in a very modern, First World economy, Nana Addo was inspired and preferred to be home, in Ghana, confronted with the multiplicities of challenges found in Ghana’s Third World, Developmental Economy. He knew that there were many Ghanaians who could not even understand how he could be inspired to be in Ghana rather than work and live in a modern First World economy. Only a person who is motivated by Possibility-Thought would have chosen to give up substantial income to serve the People. When Nana Addo returned to Accra he felt a need to assemble his total creativity; he felt like working all the time because he wanted to serve all of Ghana, all of the people of Ghana; he recalled that his father and Kwame Nkrumah also worked long hours and he felt the need to emulate them. The kind of inspired-possibility-thinking he had made his Kierkegaardian leap of faith belongs to people like Nana Addo who believe they have the ability to do the impossible. This is often perceived to be confidence. Nana Addo belongs to those people who have come to believe they are capable of leading others to envision and believe in achieving the dreams, which will belong to an envisioned First World Ghanaian population. These Possibility-Thinkers belong to the grouping of people who want to accomplish all that can reasonably be imagined. To believe you can do the impossible means that you believe you can come up with answers to the most difficult questions, these possibility thinkers believe they can solve the most complex problems. Nana Addo believes he can lead Ghana to solving problems other, ordinary leaders, have no answers for. Nana Addo and most of the members of the NPP believe that Akufo-Addo can lead Ghana to becoming a nation with a growing First World Economy by the year 2020 and he needs those Ghanaians who can think BIG. Nana Addo knows that if he can organize enough BIG thinkers; Ghanaians who Believe-In-Ghana and who will work to see Ghana succeed as a First World nation, he can lead those BIG thinkers to jobs and enterprises that will build the kind of economy that will produce an expanding First World economy. Because Nana Addo is a success-doors-opener, to him; possibilities materialize before him.
Nana utilizes Possibility-Thought, possibility-thought causes doors to open. Nana Addo thinks all things are possible; he has lived, worked and practiced with Possibility-Thought, producing programs, processes and methodologies that have led him to success, and he is ready to lead Ghana to her democratic and economic successes.
Even in difficult times the people who gather around Nana Addo have confidence, they are not afraid to create ideas, to have ideals and dreams; to create images of successful futures in their minds, while having the ability to create hopeful and positive thought pictures and prototypes of their Big Pictures, which are the dreams in the minds of those they communicate with. Nana Addo's ability to believe he can do what he sets out to do places him ahead of his rivals, who have mental sets that are tinged with cynical and negative thinking. Nana Addo is an Optimistic-Believer who stays confidently positive. In every context Nana Addo sees possibilities where others see negativity and potential failure; positive thought creates success. Nana Addo thinks BIG and we must all come to Believe-In-Ghana and think BIG. We must learn to dream big and teach ourselves to believe fervently in our BIG dreams. BIG thinkers become achievers and achievers teach themselves to become inspired, great achievers, like Nana Addo can promote economic founts producing businesses and jobs--learn to think like Nana Addo. If you think like Nana Addo you will have Tall-Confidence. Nana Addo has prepared himself to take the next Kierkegaardian Leap of Faith; that is the way to begin, just jump in believing you can do what you intend to do. Be like Nana Addo, acquire a Driving-Confidence that motivates you and drives you to accomplishment like Nana Addo has. Like Nana Addo, live with a ‘Will-To-Power’ driving you toward the determined, successful winning of a goal. Like Nana Addo create Tall-Confidence; like Nana Addo acquire a dominant, Possibility-Thinking process that enlivens goal-acquisition. Like Nana Addo make a Possibility-Thought-Process your primary, motivational-drive.
2.10 U.V. Campbell & Akufo-Addo, Prempeh. He joined the Chambers of U.V. Campbell from 1975-1979. In 1979 he co-founded the law firm, Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co, which has become one of the most successful law firms in Ghana.
Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co. In 1979 Nana Addo became a Senior Partner and Co-Founder in 1979 with Dr. Edmund Prempeh of Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co.
SECTION 3:
Politics & Strategic-Thought
3.1: Gestalt Totality. The following will give some examples of how Nana Addo's employment of a Gestalt-Totality has helped formulate the strong foundation for Nana Addo's political thinking. Nana Addo has often used a methodology for deriving solutions to political problems and creating successful resolution. He likes to look at the Gestalt, the total formulated problem before trying to determine the answering solution to a problem. His approach to solving problems and coming up with answers most often produces total answers to problems; that is why he has knocked so resolutely on the door of the Supreme Court. His method has provided a specific focus that can be used to formulate, develop and refine. Nana Addo finds that looking for the total picture, the Gestalt gives an open-minded method for looking for a solution to a problem. Nana Addo tries never to look at a problem from a single point of view; he would prefer to see the problem from a multiplicity of points of view, while viewing the problem at once in detailed focus and as a totality. Once any new Gestalt is formulated then Nana Addo, working as a truly proficient leader will see how to go out and both create and sell the new idea or economic plan, the new concept the newly completed vision, the separate strands of the elements that will compose the Totality, the Gestalt concept that is being formulated will emerge out of the newly formed totality. This kind of Gestalt thinking is a kind of creative thinking out of which newly conceived Big Pictures can emerge. This kind of advanced thinking combined with advanced economics and creative concepts can produce solutions to difficult problems and this is what Nana Addo does.
True democracy came to Ghana with the election of Dr. Kofi Busia with Edward Akufo-Addo. After they began to work on trying to lay the foundation for a permanent democracy, an error in Dr. Busia’s economic planning arose in the policy of cedi devaluation, which caused inflation to rise to 44%. This economic calculation error gave an excuse for a member of the military to perpetrate a coup. Acheampong’s pulling down of a second attempted democracy was like the pulling down of the Greek citadel of democracy. The destruction of the first truly democratic government lost its chance at establishing a permanent democracy. It left Ghana without a standing home, a Greek Parthenon was destroyed at the whim-chance of a military officer who had the habit of not listening to advice.
Acheampong’s coup gave birth to a season-of-coups; Acheampong’s coup produced a democratic-draught that lasted 28 years; from 1972 and Acheampong’s coup to the democratic election of the NPP’s John Kufuor in 2000; a political-desert descended upon Ghana. Of course in that political desert there were the two questionable ‘democratic’ elections of Jerry Rawlings, before the unquestioned democratic election of John Kufuor. It should be noted that Busia’s democratic interlude was ended because he allowed a 44% inflation rate so that a basically corrupt and incompetent military officer could take his place and allow a 130% inflation rate--note the need for democracy.
3.2: Akufo-Addo’s Advocacy. Sometime after Lieutenant General Akuffo replaced Acheampong there was an over turning of the decree against political parties; there was a planning of a multi-party election and the setting of an election with a date certain. However on the 4th of June in 1979 there was a Flight Lieutenant named Jerry Rawlings who introduced himself to the population of Ghana by perpetrating a coup against the planned democratic election.
Jerry Rawlings came in exhibiting a military proclivity and three former military heads of state, (Acheampong, Akuffo and Afrifa), were arrested, imprisoned and brought before a military firing squad and shot, a seemingly unnecessary bloodletting. A bit surprisingly on September 4th Rawlings actually allowed a civil election to be held and a man named Hilla Limann was elected President in a civil, democratic election and Rawlings turned the government over to him. However the economic failure of the economy could not be satisfied by President Limann and his cabinet and the economy continued to fail and fall. In addition to not being able to come up with solutions to solve Ghana’s economic problems the cancer of corruption began to inflict Ghana and the economy—the cook wanted more food and he had no problems taking as much food as he could get his hands on; we’ve met the cook before. There was an attack on Jurisprudence under President Limann’s administration, when Limann decided to remove the Chief Justice because President Limann and his Executive Department did not agree with a decision the Chief Justice had made. Nana Akufo-Addo had the courage to move against the President and was able during a complex court battle to win a victory. Akufo-Addo was fighting for Justice in a context in which Justice was placed in the position of being less important than a Governmental Executive decision. Akufo-Addo’s victory was a victory over something that should be considered against democratic and constitutional principles. Akufo-Addo had to contend with administrative power, he took a stand and showed the courage to stand up against a head of state and his administration. Akufo-Addo has dedicated himself to being a courageous advocate for Justice and the people of Ghana. Defending lives and human rights takes a great deal of courage and fortitude, especially when the opposition is a president and the nation’s administration. Courage and fortitude require focus from within, forces that must be urgently willed and must be a kind of will-to-the-power-of-service-to-the-people. Akufo-Addo is creating faith in the people who believe in derived democratic courage; courage derived from believing in all that democracy demands. They cannot take the Peoples’ dreams away, not with the people watching. Nana and the NPP are there watching for the people and they can’t take their dreams away.
3.3: Tuffuor vrs. Attorney General. Nana Akufo-Addo would be involved in fighting for democracy and justice after Rawlings’ coup, Limann’s presidency and finally Akufo-Addo’s leadership in bringing back a permanent-democracy. In a similar way, in 1979, Akufo-Addo was the leading counsel in Tuffuor vrs Attorney-General, a landmark case in which a fully established doctrine of separation of powers and the independence of the Judiciary prevented President Hilla Limann from removing Chief Justice Apaloo unconstitutionally.
3.4 PMFJ. “The PMFJ was composed of political stalwarts such as Akwasi Amankwa Afrifa, William Ofori-Atta, Komla Agbeli Gbedemah, Adu Boahen, Sam Okudzeto, Obed Asamoah, Godfrey Agama, K.S.P. Jantuah, Jones Ofori-Atta, Johnny Hanson and Nii Amaah Amartefio, Mr. No. This group led the "NO" campaign in the UNIGOV referendum, ultimately brought the downfall of General Acheampong on 5th July, 1978.”
3.5: Focus. During periods of political and legal confrontation like Akufo-Addo faced during the Third Regime and under Rawlings; often Akufo-Addo has used brainstorming in the context of a Mastermind Alliance meeting and has encouraged the employment of creativity among his colleagues; he also utilizes the careful employment of focus in the things he does. Nana Addo’s ability to focus is more like what is thought of as meditative-concentration on a single subject. This methodology was developed for better concentrating on a given subject; initially it was to facilitate the achieving of successful conclusions to problem solving sessions. It was not a method that was devised over night; it was experimented with to facilitate focusing. It was something Nana Addo and I discussed, in which we were trying to understand what would be necessary to become a successful leader. He knew becoming a success could not be easy. But Nana Addo realized he had to focus on details, while keeping the totality of his task framed in his mind.
These were some of the things that Nana Addo focused on because at the time they could provide some of the goal-outcomes that were more essential to his development and constant improvement and development was what Nana Addo wanted to concentrate on. I noted also that he maintained a stalwart inner circle; people he could rely on and who supported him with great reliability in his Mastermind-Alliances. I found it interesting how the people Nana Addo associated with at the beginning of his political organization at Legon formed a bond and joined those in Nana Addo's circle of stalwart friends.
Nana Addo's associates felt a sense of being chosen to associate with a program that Nana Addo believed in. The group dynamics within Nana Addo's circle of friends generated an inner source of inspiration, as if they had taken in some of Nana Addo's inspirational abilities; as if they had acquired some of his political, economic prowess.
3.6: The Alliance For Change (AFC). “As the spokesperson for the Alliance For Change (AFC), another formidable single-purpose political umbrella group, Nana Akufo-Addo led the inspirational drive that induced a record half a million people to demonstrate in the streets of Accra and Kumasi against the NDC's harsh economic policies. Yet, when some people tried to convince him to use the AFC's organizational structures and popularity to form a new "youthful and radical" political party, Akufo-Addo was among those who resisted, arguing that the AFC was set up as a single-purpose vehicle, which served its purpose by showing the masses that the Rawlings regime was not invincible. He stayed true to the NPP.”
3.7: The Rebirth of Democracy. In 1989, during the Rawlings administration, the universities had to be closed four months. But in April 1991 there was the enactment of a new constitution and in June 1991 six political parties were given the approval to participate in politics, which included the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The election of December 2000 was the rebirth of democracy in Ghana; Ghana had suffered through coups, which followed coups until 2000, when Rawlings who had been a multiple perpetrator of coups, who controlled by using the devices and the standard force of a military dictator, until later on in his 19 year period of command-control when he complied generally with the decorum of an elected democratic leader. Later he relented to the demands of a constitution and allowed elections, which he participated in and after 19 years of control Ghana had an election in which Rawlings did not participate and a true private citizen was elected as president of Ghana. Thus democracy was reborn and Ghana joined the nations experiencing the up lifting benefits of the tenets of democracy.
Here we see how the genius leadership from Nana Akufo-Addo who was an organizer, developer and a founding father of the NPP and Mastermind-Alliance. Akufo-Addo, who was active in campaigning for John Kufuor and who led a rebirth of democracy from a period over thirty years before in 1969 when Dr. Busia and Nana Addo’s father led the birth of democracy after Ghana’s experience with a curtailed (one party) democracy under Nkrumah. If the voters in Ghana want to retain a permanent democracy they must understand that now, at this critical transition stage in Ghana’s democratic history we need first all of the voters to come out and vote and the voters need to vote for a gifted leader, a person who understands and is a champion of democracy; a man who has a living history of being successful and who is capable of truly leading and creating a permanent democracy and understanding the intricacies of economic development; a man who can become a servant-leader who can lead us into a First World economy. That man is Nana Akufo-Addo.
3.8: Akufo-Addo: The Doer. “In 1990, during the Rawlings years of military control Akufo-Addo was the founder and first Chairperson of the Ghana Committee on Human and Peoples Rights, which he set up during the PNDC Rawlings military dictatorship to protect the civil liberties of Ghanaians. During these years more and more Ghanaians realized that Akufo-Addo would be a great and successful leader for Ghana and a great champion of African Unity.”
3.9: “The ‘Kume Preko’ demonstrations. “In 1997, two years after leading the ground breaking ‘Kume Preko’ demonstrations of the Alliance For Change (AFC), Nana Akufo-Addo fought off the NDC’s EGLE Party, rigging machine and their intimidation to become the Abuakwa Member of Parliament (MP) and Minority Spokesman on Legal & Constitutional Affairs. In 1995, Nana led the ‘Kume Preko’ demonstrations of the Alliance For Change (AFC), which sent more than a million people into the streets. This shook the roots of the NDC and forever made Nana the ‘NDC’s Enemy No. 1’.”
“There has been a long history of actions by Akufo Addo’s colleagues, associates and followers to support the people, focusing on those who have been wrongfully persecuted, especially those who have been attacked by the NDC. Many legal actions have been led by excellent younger lawyers, who are following the freedom fighting footsteps of their mentor, Nana Akufo-Addo. These acts of peoples’ advocating have been going on since the days when Akufo Addo returned to Ghana. During the days of the Third Republic, Akufo-Addo used the law courts to overturn some of the most arbitrary decisions of the AFRC regime, which were enjoying immunity under the Constitution.”
“Three such cases, one of detention without trial and the others involving confiscated assets, were before three judges. During those days of the Third Republic power was firmly in the hands of Jerry Rawlings. Akufo-Addo used the law courts to overturn some of the most arbitrary, yet ostensibly legally immune decisions of the AFRC regime. The above mentioned three cases, one of habeas corpus and the others involving confiscated assets, were before three distinguished judges on June 30, 1982, they were Justices Cecilia Koranteng Addow, Poku Sarkodie and K. Agyapong. Akufo-Addo, as fate would have it, had left Accra on a routine visit to London when news broke that the three judges and retired army Major had been abducted, murdered and their bodies burnt. A few days later, Ebo Tawiah, the firebrand Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC), Secretary for Labour, violently denounced Akufo-Addo on a public platform in Tema. Akufo-Addo was advised to stay in exile, but he returned to Ghana after a year and a half to continue without relent his courageous battles against dictatorship and human rights abuse. After returning to Ghana from exile, Akufo-Addo continued his call for a return to democracy.
“In 1996, he stood bumper to bumper and stopped the NDC/EGLE Party rigging machine and intimidation to become Abuakwa Member of Parliament (MP) and Minority Spokesman on Legal & Constitutional Affairs.”
3.10: Nana Akufo-Addo is a champion of democracy fighting the non-violent struggle against military dictatorships, corruption and voting fraud, while leading movements like the PMFJ (the People's Movement for Freedom and Justice). Now we have this established Champion of democracy moving toward utilizing the Supreme Court to peacefully overturn a presidential election that was fraudulently conducted and perhaps become a Nobel Laureate. Thus leading, not only Ghana, but also Africa and the world to true democracy.

Though elections took place at that time, he was not satisfied with the tendencies of those voted into power to continue to behave as autocrats. When the new President Limann acted to remove Chief Justice Apaloo from the Supreme Court, Akufo-addo successfully challenged that action in court, in a landmark case that cemented the doctrine of separation of powers in Ghana, further pushing the country away from military rule and towards peace and democracy. What of BUSIA VRS SALA case? SO PREZ HILLA LIMAN'S REGIME WAS UNDEMOCRATIC? AND ITS OVERTHROW WAS MASTERMINDED BY NANA ADDO?...HE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A TOUCHLINE PLAYER

Someone who is preaching all-die-be-die should be awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. Either you are intentionally closing your eyes to truth or you refuse to open them, but whatever it is i must say check your sources well.
