OFFICE OF THE ODIKRO
a companion of the black star!
Hello Daniel,
Happy New Year, Sir!
I am surprised at this level of mediocrity at political damage control! Ex=President Kufuor has made it clear he is attending. It would be the height of impertinence, even on the part of Nana Akufo-Addo to remotely attempt to stop an adult citizen of Ghana, several years his senior, whom he served as his servant, (the is what a Minister is! Check the etymology!)
If your boss, who used to be Kufuor's servant, cannot stop him, who are you to think that a silly article like this can make any difference? It would have been far better for intelligent NPP commentators to play this down rather than allowing such a nit-wit performance, which plays everything up! It is more in the interest of Kufuor to attend than not to attend. His own stature will diminish by his absence! No one is going to beg him to attend, but he is going to rush to be there, whether you like it or not!
The NPP has a very bad damage control strategy. Whether you like it or not, President Kufuor is attending the inaugural ceremony of the investiture of His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama at the Independence in Accra on Monday January 7, 2013! You will see it LIVE!
The only implication of your appeal is that the Akufo-Addo faction in the must brace itself for yet another defeat! It means exactly what you say, you are losing your post-electoral steam for mischief!
You write:
"In the first place, attending the ceremony will give credence to Alhaji Bature’s assertion that Kufuor is strongly opposed to the court action initiated by Nana Akufo Addo and the New Patriotic Party. In the last couple of weeks there have been persistent attempts in the Al Hajj’s newspaper to create a schism between Akufo Addo and ex President Kufuor. The Newspaper and its editor had at the least opportunity, sought to create the erroneous impression that the Former President had warned the NPP’s Flag-bearer to desist from seeking redress over what he termed electoral irregularities in the December 7, 2012 Presidential Elections."
I wish I could get a photo taken of your stupid and confused face when you see ex=President Kufuor, exchanging pleasantries! It is strange that people like you manage to call yourselves Christians! These words mark you out as a hypocrite and a potential murderer! This public incitement to kill innocent Ghanaians for the simple reason that they belong to a different political party, is probably criminal!
"if you see a snake and an NDC man, kill the NDC man first."? What an idiot you are!
You cannot change Ghana with so much venom in your heart. Do not only love those that are close to you. Try to love your fellow beings unconditionally, and not because they belong to one political party or the other! You have been trying with hatred and failing, so why don't you try it with love for a change?
There is a popular saying: " It is only a fool who repeats his mistakes and expect different results. The wise learn from the mistakes of others, while fools repeat them. But idiots repeat their own stupid mistakes."
Forward Ever! Backwards Never!
For Life, the Environment, and Social Justice!

In reference to your last but one paragraph, who, at this point, do you think is more likely to want to poison Ku4? NDC or NPP? The answer is obvious. NDC would rather have Ku4 alive. I am really surprised you would bring up something like that. You, obviously, do not know the amount of hatred that somebody in the NPP (no name) has for Ku4. I thought all Ghanaians knew that, I guess, except you!! This is really laughable.

I have said this before that NNP is a party that don't take wise counsel form no one but always want to live upon their own interpretation and understanding. I don't support Mr. Kuffour's decision of attending the ceremony by the excuse given. If it's not right for him not to attend then it's equally not right for the rest of the members too. So he should counsel the party as a stateman as he claim to desist from anything he can't fully support. He can't convince anyone with his statemanship excuse.
On the other hand why is it that the National Executives are quiet over something they sat at a meeting to accept for the youth and some members of the party to castigate the Ex-President? The man would have told them as he did in 2008 not to misbehave but this time fear for being ridicled like Dr. Arthur Kennedy, Dr. Wireko Brobbey and the likes when telling the party the truth as been their culture. Is NPP learning anything out of all these happenings?
God Bless Ghana.

Damptey, a Ghanaian Patriot will not argue based on those self seeking interest unless an Akyem/Asante Parrot.
What is happening now is not about being patriotic to NPP Party but it is all based on the constitution and a clause which states ' without prejudice' or in other words 'not withstanding' the inauguration and duties of the President therefater......
In this regard, Kuffuor has no option than to attend. If he fails, he will go down heavily as unpatriotic, ungentlemanly and the ex-president who disregards the constitution of the Ghana. To save face, as the whole world is watching, Kuffuor has no option than to attend to also preserve his own reputation as an ex-president.
If he fails to attend, that would also go against him as it would unconstitutional and for these simple reasons, Damptey you must consider first before your 'PARROT VIEWS'.

HIS FOOLISHNESS, STUPIDITY AND EVEN CHILDISHNES WAS SO EVIDENT.
WHY DID HE NOT ALLOW THE EC TO ANNOUNCE
WHY WAS HE SO IMPATIENT?
WHY DID HE TAKE HIS ANNOUNCEMENT TO JOHN MAHAMA’S PLACE?
WHY DID HE NOT JUST MAKE IT A PUBLIC THING IN A PUBLIC PLACE?.
WHY DID HE NOT EVEN GIVE A LOOK AT THE ADVICE OF PEOPLE WHO CALLED ON CAUSION?
OR YOU CONNIVED WITH HIM TO DO SOMETHING FOR YOUR ALLAN JERRY-PICK-MANTENG THE DREAMER?
I THINK THAT IF YOU GO TO THAT EVENT THE PARTY SHOULD NOT LET YOU COME BACK INTO THE PARTY. THE PARTY SHOULD IMPEACH YOU AND EVEN SUSPEND YOU.

ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS YOU HAVE DONE FOOLISH THINGS THAT HAS DISGRACED THIS PARTY, INSULTED ITS PRINCIPLES, AND GIVEN IT SO MANY PROBLEMS WHICH THE PARTY IS STILL STRUGGLING WITH. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?, IS IT AN OBASANJO MEDAL YOU WANT OR A JOHN MAHAMA MEDAL?. OH!, WERE THE MEDALS YOU GAVE YOURSELF NOT ENOUGH?, YOU RATHER NEED SOME THIIEFING MAHAMA MEDALS ?.
THIS IS HIGHLY AN IMMORAL THING TO DO, AND IF YOU DO IT, YOU HAVE BURRIED ALL YOUR PAST AND PRESENT RESPECT AND ACHIEVEMENT, AND SHOULD BE KICKED OUT OF THE PARTY BY GENERAL PARTY DELIGATE AND MASSES PROTEST.

I am a staunch NPP member and I believe in the truth and nothing but the truth. Though those affected by the truth will despise me, I careless but however remain vigilant and patriotic.
Nation building does not go in hand with greed and idiocy.
My assertion is that and fact is NPP has every right to seek redress but however time is of the essence and when due diligence is tasked to you, options are that you perform.
That said the court is mandated to justify NPP claim, as it is a task assigned and must be tackled. Since supreme court has not overturned the election results no one can stop or question the legitimacy of the President. That said we all have a president elect and Ghanaians must work with him.
Transitional team has been tasked to undertake swearing in of the President elect and they also have a mandate. To my knowledge swearing in a president elect is a National responsibility and every patriotic Ghanaian must partake.
Only selfish, illiterate and Nation wreckers that believe in stagnancy. Anyone, who think the court is mandated to due diligence must also understand that we have a duty to maintain peace and continuity that the good Lord had given us.
An eye for an eye is only embedded in the old testament but the new testament proclaim love and an unconditional one. No matter what NDC did to Kuffour, I see no reason for a statesman to pay them back and for what? Blackman is always full of a destructive mind and its about time we change our attitude.
I do not despise fairness but due process must also be respected. Mahama is President elect until that decision is overturned by the court.

Institutions and time work not in contrary but assiduously. Supreme court is mandated to swear in the President and also justify the election results. Time will not allow supreme court to delay the swearing in and go through the litigation. Ghana needs a leader whilst the case is in court. Though President elect is challenged by the opposition, he is not guilty of anything until it is proven at the law court.
Fact that election results is challenged should not denied Ghana from moving on. Institutions must work and when they do timetables are not condemned.
Since Supreme court has not overturned the results, President elect is legitimate till the court verify NPP's claim and add credence to it. Other than that I see no reason for anyone to abort the inauguration of the president.
That's a reason Kuffour and NPP should attend and not feel ashamed.

If you believe there is no one in Ghana who has principles, then why bother, or question Kufuor's decision to attend the inauguration?
I think Kufuor's attendance is very wise and mature thing to do. I think even Akufo Addo ought to be there. That means should the verdict come out to even overturn the Election results in Akufo Addo's favor, John Mahama would also have to attend the former's inauguration.
The inauguration is a State event that all must duly honor, even if we disagree with who is being sworn in. What if Akufo is declared the next President and all NDC folks decided to boycott the event? That would presuppose almost half of the Nation disavows his Presidency. But whether we like it or not, whoever is finally decided to be our legally approved President deserves the full support of the whole Nation in events of this nature.
We should not misconstrue having different opinions on issues as denouncing the basid tenets of our Nationhood. Note that it would be equally a mistake for the NDC to boycott an Presidential inaugural event just because its members might be contesting the Elections.
The Principles you must be looking for are those that recognize the integrity, dignity and unity of our folks to help us build the Nation together and peacefully.
We should not encourage acts that would deepen any rift between us.
Long Live Ghana!!

If Kuffour attends the inaugural ceremony he is betraying the NPP cause and weaken their case in Court since the NDC rented press will use that in their propaganda to buttress their case in a so called “free and fair” election. He himself was boycotted on before by NDC leaders.
There should be a united front by the NPP to defeat the NDC and the EC once and for all and send a statement to the rest of the world. The US Supreme Court ruled in favor of Bush against Gore in 2000.
The wisest thing is to for him to abstain by prolonging his sick leave until well after the ceremony.
Wrong is wrong ! The fact remains of large scale electoral fraud especially in Volta region that put Mahama ahead of Nana Addo. Why reward those who indulge in fraud with good? Instead they should be punished, disgraced, humiliated before the world.
If Kuffour should attend then the NPP should suspend him together with Brobby Wereko indefinitely.

Her grandmother says, "Sit here and let me tell you about those young boys. "He is going to try to kiss you; you are going to like that, but don't let him do that."
She continued, "He is going to try to feel your Assets; you are going to like that, but don't let him do that.
He is going to try to put his hand somewhere inappropriate; you are going to like that, but don't let him do that.
Then the grandmother said, "But, most importantly, he is going to try to get on top of you and have his way with you. You are going to like that, but don't let him do that. It will disgrace the family."
With that bit of advice in mind, the granddaughter went on her date and could not wait to tell her grandmother about it.
The next day she told her grandmother that her date went just as the old lady said.
She said, "Grandmother, I didn't let him disgrace the family. When he tried, I turned him over, got on top of him and disgraced his family."

Instead of boycotting the inauguration, NPP should filed injunction to stop the innauguration all together.
The truth is, the leadership of NPP knows they disrespted and fooled millions of their supporters for an extended and could not back down with their loose propaganda of rigged elections that they just had to file a suit. They arenow just trying everything to make their diasppointed supporters still believe in them. The leadership knows Kuffour will attend the innauguration which is now an excuse to justify why their case may be thrown out of court. Kuffour is an individual not bigger than the party. Why should worry so much about his attendance? Too many excuses just make your case anansi story.

the 1992 Constitution directly says three things in article 47; namely:
(1) After Presidential elections, it is the EC that declares the results;
(2) After the EC has declared the results of a Presidential elections, any Ghanaian citizen who disagrees with the declared results can petition the Supreme Court within twenty-one days after such declaration;
(3) The Supreme Court must decide any petition lodged with it and the decision of the Supreme Court then overrides anything that has been done by the President prior to the decision.
Where a declared Presidential election results have been challenged in court in accordance with the relevant provisions of article 47 of the Constitution, other things the Constitution has said, though implicitly, are that:
(a) Until the Supreme Court decides otherwise, any Presidential election declaration made by the EC holds and must, therefore, be actionable in accordance with the Constitution.
(b) Until the Supreme Court decides otherwise, the President-elect can, and should be sworn-in in accordance with the Constitution and other laws of the land;
(c) Until the Supreme Court decides otherwise, the President-elect can, and should perform all duties of the President, given to him by the Constitution and other laws of the land.
Given the six itemised facts that have explicitly or inexplicitly been mentioned by the Constitution, why should some NPP members and supporters be angry with former President Kufuor over his decision to attend the inauguration of the President-elect? If the inauguration of President-elect is legitimate, as it is now, then why are some NPP members complaining about the decision of the former President to attend it?

Kufuor's politics are rather strange at times. He built Flagstaff House at enormous cost, at a time when Ghanaians were hungry. Everyday people pass by that building and wonder whether it was worth the 80m dollars or so it's alleged to have cost. Kufuor was leaving office when the building was constructed and he didn't care about what impression it would make on the electorate.
Similarly, he opened the door for the purchase of presidential and military aircraft -- a door which the Mahamas have walked into and emerged with untold quantities of gargantuan spoils.Prestige costs money. His devotion to prestige spending has cost Ghana a pretty penny. It shows poor judgement.
You have tacitly admitted that Mahama has stolen the 7 December 2012 election. Your party is legitimately contesting the theft in court; but you ignore that and attend his inauguration on the narrow technical ground that even if he's inaugurated and the Supreme Court later finds against him, he can be made to step down. But what about the POLITICAL gesture of openly exhibiting displeasure at the theft of the election? So as to increase the cost of such thefts in future to the would-be thieves? "As for Ghana, don't worry. Evern if we steal it and win, they will close their eyeys to it and come and make merry with us at the inauguration!" the thieves will now say to themselves.
Kufuor should think definitely again. Politics is a mattger of petrceptipon, and he is not helping the NPP by showing it to be divided at the top. What has been said by his aide is not binding. His ACTION IS WHAT WILL MATTER.

Here we go again! A little jungle creep and a stupid bravado making
incoherent jungle waves! Who, in the name of heaven cares, if Kufour do or do not attends the ceremony?
Surprised? Some of us are NOT! As one singer goes, “NOTHING NEW BUT THE SAME OLD THING” As I keep on saying, a leopard never, never, changes its skin. It is PERPETUALLY PROGRAMMED AND INGRAINED IN HIS DNA EVEN FOR HIS FUTURE GENERATIONS! You are watching manifestation of this phenomenon!, as I do not need to remind you of the NLM/UP cult of the past!
You see, hyenas and other animals do not co-exist. Hyenas are a RARE BREED.. a breed apart from all other animals. They always claim the forest and all that is in it,is theirs! Ever watch them, as they intimidate, harass, confiscate, commandeer, attack, steal, and rob other animals of their meal, even lions!
That’s exactly what these jungle bloodhounds stand for. Again as I keep on saying, blame Nkrumah for letting loose these hyenas into civilized society. Now what do we have? They continue to act AS IF THE COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE IN IT BELONGS TO THEM. Some want other ethnic folks exterminated! Most of them think they are superior to other tribes. Some even want their DIALECT become official language of the country!. And here we are, with what looks like little insecure jungle, tribal, hypocritical nonentities, insidiously and furtively making waves to aggrandize themselves and their infamous, primitive political cult
These bush folks are a cancer in the middle of the country and if nothing is done—if a concerted effort is not made to revert the trend and change the mind-set of these primitives, what happened in Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone and other places, where the ambers are still burning, is imminent!
Yes, Ahoofe’s “road to Kigali” is getting wider and shorter,CONVERSELY! The patience and tolerance of other ethnic tribes, construed by these tribal folks as weakness, is running very, very thin.
My heart goes to those patriotic and illustrious Akans with candor, past and present, who are helplessly watching their pride and tribe being dragged in the mud.
What a shame and sham!

Enough is enough, it is time for KUFUOH TO COME OUT WITH A STATEMENT ,condemning Akuffo Addo for not accepting the results of the election. Where are the leaders in the party ? So far only Dr.Wereko Brobey has proved to be a real leader. Da ROCHA AND CO WOULD BE TURNING IN THEIR GRAVES,
Who will stop Akuffo addo from taking the party down with him ?

It was a wrong political move Asante Kuffuor made this cheap Akyem Akufo Ado a Foreign Minister of Kwame Nkrumah Ghana; thinking Akyems will remain Akyems and not cloned or hybrid Asantes in the NPP; like a prophesy, this has exactly been the case
- Akyem Akufo Ado, his Danquah Institute of Akyem buffoons and Akyems see themselves as cloned and hybrid Asantes; they think form a fantasy tribe known as "AKANS"; there to slaughter the Fantes, the Gas and the Ewes should they misbehave themselves and do not do as the "AKANS" wished; have a look at ("AKAN") Akufo Ado's "all die be die" warning
- this fallacy of "AKANS" was first muted by terrorist Akyem J B Danquah to get Asantes on his evil side to kill Kwame Nkrumah; to drop Ghana into a hole from where Ghana is still digging
- Asantes are wise and Kuffuor is wise; as a former President of Kwame Nkrumah Ghana, he knows he has national and international duties to fulfil
- Kuffuor now for good, drops this loud mouthed and nitwit Akyem Akufo Ado like a sack of potatoes; enhancing Asante Kuffuor's respect and personality

But thanks to the military and the police in modern Ghana, he will never have his way. There is a difference between being a president of a country and just leading a party as a presidential candidate. As a presidential candidate, your umblical cord with your party is still uncut. When one becomes a president however, the person 'metamorphoses' not so much as a party head but as a leader of a nation - a nation made up of people from several backgrounds who have several interests. In short, you look at things 'nationally' not necessarily 'partilly'. I believe those who are criticizing Kufour have not succeeded in appreciating the changes that happens which the office "President'.
I think former president kuffor is right. He has to meet the constitutional covention as a statesman whilst at the same time meeting the constitutional provision of supporting his party's decision to go to court over the elections.
I think Kufour's decision sets a more 'matured' precedence for democracy.

The deafening silence from the international community regarding the so-called rigging of the December 2012 elections should give the NPP leadership and Nana Akufo Addo pause for thought. It is an ominous sign. It suggests to me that most who are aware of it think that litigation is a frivolous venture. This headlong rush to the courts is a dead end road.It is an action that will tie up the NPP preventing it from reorganizing and re-marshalling its human and material resources for the crucial task of fighting and winning the 2016.
No doubt Kuffour an astute politician is clearly well aware of the dangerous pitfalls confronting the NPP as it follows its current trajectory. Who can therefore blame him for seeking to position himself on neutral ground?
