I have long held the view that educated Africans, especially the kind blessed with high Western scholarship such as Akadu N. Mensema, have not successfully detached themselves from this overt proclivity of seeing the African political culture ONLY through one lens. And for most Ghanaians attacking or scandalizing the other side is accepted of burnishing one’s political credentials
The ONLIEST way we can foster a better democratic culture for our emerging societies, INSPITE of ourselves, is to see opposing views as options in our toolbox. Tolerance without a misplaced reverence to the past is the KEY.
Africans, in this case Ghanaians, do not have the luxury of reading or listening to such pointless bombast like this poem when Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, Ebola, Guinea Worm, River Blindness, Polio and other natural and man-made disasters are left unchecked on the daily ravaging and evil missions.
