Sonnie Badu has shared his view on award systems in Ghana, noting that awards are proof that an artiste’s success is recognized; hence very important.

He observed that for a full time musician, awards are very good and present a tangible evidence of hard work to one’s children and posterity.

“As a full time musician, you have something to show your children, you have something to prove success was recognized, and that is something they can look up to. I would rather my kids have me to look up to, than look up to others,” the popular gospel musician said.

He resultantly urged groups, organizers and companies to treat reward programs with seriousness and ensure that it is carried out in the atmosphere of fairness in order to avoid confusion among the artistes.

“Please, get all your facts right. Know exactly what you are doing, refrain from causing confusion between individuals, refrain from personal agenda. How does an artiste’s manager become part of a high profile organization board for an award show? I don't quite get that. How does the absence of an artiste from attending a show because he/she is pre-booked automatically disqualify him or her from being nominated? When in history has it ever been mandatory to be present to be granted an award? Remember, this is someone's hard work, and the law of karma is so interesting,” he said in his Instagram Post.
