Daasebre’s demise a ‘big blow’ - Tic Tac

News of the death of highlife musician Daasebre Gyamenah has come as a shock to many persons in the showbiz industry, not least hiplife artiste Tic Tac, who has described it as a “big blow”.

Daasebre Gyamenah died on the morning of Friday July 29, 2016 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra after battling an undisclosed ailment.

Tic Tac, privately known as Michael Kwaku Duah, said the news was broken to him early on Friday but he initially did not believe it until he got confirmation from reliable sources later that day.

Asked how he took the demise of Daasebre when it dawned on him finally that the artiste, whom he described as a “brother” and whose association with him “goes way back”, had passed, Tic Tac told Accra News: “The first thing that came to mind was that…we are bound to lose our loved ones, so if Jehovah has called our brother Daasebra Gyamenah, we should take it in our stride so none of us dies from the shock from his passing.

“In fact it is sad, very sad waking up in the morning to such news of someone renowned for his great works. In fact it is a big blow.”

He recalled that one of his “pinnacle memories” of the late singer was his triumph in his 2007 trial in the United Kingdom for alleged narcotic offences, a period during which many of Daasebre’s friends did not want to associate with the beleaguered artiste.

According to him, he flew to witness his pal’s trial in that country and to offer him moral support, which subsequently paid off.
