How to save money by doing your own pedicure at home

Hey Ladies, so I am very well aware that we get reeeeeeeeeeeeaally busy and neglect our poor toes! “I don’t have time” or “it will take too much time”, “no one is looking anyway”, “I wear closed shoes to work.” EXCUSES EXCUSES!

This post is for the busy women amongst us; your toes need love too!

Here is a quick at home pedicure that will keep your feet looking fresh and un-crusty (cracked heels)!

Here are a few things you may need to invest in: Pumice Stone, Foot Buffer, Cuticle Remover, Coconut Oil, Bath Salts/Foot Scrub (Optional), and Nail Polish (Optional).

1. The first step is to remove the old polish from your nails.

2. Cut & file nails to a shape you like

3. Soften skin by soaking feet in warm water & bath salts/shower gel for about 10 minutes – 15 minutes depending on how much time you have. If you are feeling adventurous, add a cup of milk to the water, the lactic acid loosens dead skin cells faster

4. Use a cuticle remover to take off loose cuticles around the nail (after your feet have been soaked). Make sure you don’t hurt yourself, be as gentle as possible

6. Apply an exfoliating body or foot scrub to a foot file or wet pumice stone to remove the dead skin on the balls and heels of your feet. You’ll want to scrub the balls, bottoms and sides of your heels and around the toes. Use the foot buffer first and then smoothen the skin with the pumice stone

7. Dry feet thoroughly including between the toes and rub in a thick moisturizer or foot cream. Massage the moisturizer into the feet and the calves. You can go all out by rehydrating cuticles by rubbing in a dab of coconut oil

8. Use acetone remover to get rid of any excess oils on the nails. Wait a minute before adding 2 coats of your favorite polish, then finish with a thin top coat. Let nails dry for at least 40 minutes before you slip into closed toe shoes

I really hope this helps because ladies, dry cracked heels are not sexy at all!
