Miss Heritage Ghana 2014 embarks on Ebola education

Miss Heritage Ghana 2014, Zina Asiedu; a Communications student of the African University College of Communication (AUCC who will represent Ghana at the grand finale of Miss World Heritage 2014 beauty pageant at Lesotho in December 2014 has decided to organize programmes to sensitise people on the dreaded disease Ebola.

Speaking to yours truly in an exclusive interview, she said Ebola is an international threat and Ghanaians need to be informed about how it is contracted and the consequences it leaves on people and countries.

She noted that Ghanaians on the border towns like Aflao, Elubo, Bawku and Paga and villages need more education and interaction to be alert to do the right basic things like washing of hands with soap under running water.

Zina Asiedu said she has advanced her preparations for the international pageat and want Ghanaians to pray and vote for her.

“I am aware that the competition would be very keen, but as a Ghanaian representative, I hope to do my best to win. I am self motivated and inspired to go for glory and with my fans and Ghanaians backing me, trust that we shall triumph,” she assured.

The international Miss Heritage will be hosted under the theme “Sustainable Heritage through Education”.

The vision statement runs consistent with UNESCO conventions on World Heritage in with the pageant mission theme dubbed; 'Celebrating Diverse Beautiful Cultures'.

Miss Heritage World is an international beauty pageant that was founded on the basis of having women from around the world to have an opportunity to represent the most important feature of any countries National Heritage.

It is an innovative international pageant that promotes world tangible and intangible heritage by celebrating the intelligence, integrity and personality of women, using Heritage as a tool for sustainable development.

Participation is opened to single and never married women from ages 17 to 28, height 164m.

The women will represent their nation’s heritage; from physical and personality characteristics of the people, the values, the climate, the religion, literature, the laws, the man made and non man made features, the history, the current affairs and the ideas and philosophy of their respective countries.

Miss Heritage shall be hosted in the Kingdom of Lesotho in Africa on 6th December, 2014 and 40 countries across the world have so far confirmed their participation.

Zina, a Gonja from Salaga in the Northern Region of Ghana is a top model who hopes to take over from Shequera Grace King from the Bahamas who was crowned Miss World Heritage 2013 at Harare Zimbabwe.

She loves modeling and kids, that is why the future of Africa is very dear to her heart.

“I want the children of today to get a very good future that is why I want us to build a solid foundation in education and health for our future generations” she said.
