John Dumelo finally endorses Shirley Frimpong-Manso over Leila Djansi?

Yes, the ‘silent rivalry’ between Ghana’s most decorated movie makers, Leila Djansi and Shirley Frimpong-Manso received an interesting twist during Thursday night’s premiere of Shirley’s latest production, ‘Love or Something Like That’.

It appears the battle lines have been drawn if I am not reading too much meaning into events that transpired on the night.

After the first showing, the cast and crew were introduced to moviegoers. Shirley was given the mic to speak and she thanked the cast for putting up a great performance, she then introduced John Dumelo saying that John’s role in the movie was his best yet.

Hmmm hmm, this is after John won his first major movie award with Leila Djansi’s ‘Northern Affair’ last year.

Anyway, when John took over the mic, he also went ahead to praise Shirley saying that, “there is Hollywood, there is Bollywood and then there is Shirley Frimpong Manso making Africa proud”…lol.

After receiving applause for his comments, John then whispered something into Shirley’s ears. I hope it wasn’t scripted!!!
