Efya, EL, JaySo to Headline Bless The Mic

Cross-genre alternative art and music event, ‘Bless The Mic Arts & Music Festival’ is set to take place this weekend.

The event is in its fourth year and has thrilled Accra’s alternative arts and culture crowd with every edition.

This year promises to be even bigger and better with an impressive line-up of Ghanaian artistes and activities for the show.

Activities kicked off yesterday, Thursday May 31, with a music industry seminar dubbed the BTM Music Forum at the British Council under the theme ‘Bridging the gap between event promoters, organizers, artist managers, sponsors and artist’.

The seminar will be hosted by ‘The One Show’ co-host PY.

The festival continues on Friday, with ‘I love Hip-hop Concert’ at Alliance Francaise to be hosted by YFM’s Joel and Viasat One’s Agnes.

Artistes lined up will include JaySo and his Skillions Crew, E.L., Stago, J-Town, Irene Logan and a host of others.

The night’s entertainment will also feature freestyle battles and bag of props among others.

On Saturday June 2, Alliance Francaise will host the final day of this year’s ‘Bless The Mic Arts & Music Festival’.

The festival will begin at 12pm, showcasing an eclectic variety of poetry, paintings, art and photo exhibitions with other attractions like acrobatic display, health spa – stress relieve massages, facial & skin treatment, hand and foot care, Capoeira lessons and good music.

From 7pm, the amphitheater stage will light up a night of electrifying modern reggae, spoken word, acoustic, highlife, rap, R&B music from some of the best recording artistes from Ghana.

As with previous editions, this year’s BTM Festival will feature exciting performances from some of the most celebrated underground and mainstream acts from the local hiphop/hiplife and acoustic music scene.

The night’s performers include Syn and the Faint Medal band, Yaa Pono, Stonebuoy, gospel act Cwasi Oteng and many others.

This year’s festival is set to attract about 3000 fans and guests from Ghana and the rest of the world.

There will be food, drinks, art and craft vendors available.
