Who Killed Koo Fori's Wife?

DOCTOR ARRESTED, POLICE STARTS INVESTIGATION

By Hi Newspaper

Information reaching your authoritative Hi Newspaper at press time has it that the doctor who operated on the late Mary Nana Aba Kakari, wife of Samuel Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari aka Koofori, during labour, was arrested last Friday, August 27 by the Sakumo Police Station for questioning in an investigation related to the 'strange' death of the wife of the actor/comedian/broadcaster.

The doctor, simply named- Dr. B, according to our reliable source, is a highly placed gynecologist with the Medifem Hospital & Fertility Centre at Dzorwulu in Accra, where Koo Fori's late wife gave birth to her 2-week-old child before passing on. She died on Saturday August 21, 2010.

Management of the hospital wouldn't comment positively when Hi Newspaper’s investigative Journalist Jeff Turkson went there for answers: “the matter is with the police, so young man, let's wait till we hear from them” a top Staff of Medifem told this reporter.

A post mortem report and pathology test, according to our source, allegedly indicts Dr. B of negligence on duty. “She suffered cardiovascular death among other explanations related to blood vessel blockage”, Hi Newspaper learned.

Literally or in a layman’s language, our source alleges, “almost all the waste that was supposed to be removed after birth (operation) was kept in the stomach, including the placenta for over two weeks”.

Hi Newspaper gathered that family of the deceased suspected foul play due to strange happening prior to her death. “For instance, she felt very warm and was almost always sweating even when in an air conditioned room. 72 hours prior to her death, she was checked upon at the same hospital but “never taken serious, even though one could see her belly had grown bigger as though she was still pregnant”, a family source told Hi Newspaper.

Mary collapsed while breastfeeding her two-week old baby girl and died some few minutes later at the Sakumono Community hospital on Saturday August 21. At the time of her death, the Efiewura TV Show star, Koo Fori was in the U.S. but had to cut short his visit and returned to Ghana on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. On Saturday, August 28, a huge crowd consisting of industry big wigs converged at his Teshie-Nungua home for the first week celebration.

The police personnel handling the case at the Sakumo Police Station could not be reached for comment at press time [Monday, August 30th, 10pm.] Several efforts to reach Koo Fori also proved futile. We will be on this story and bring you Koo Fori's reaction should an alleged 'foul play' be confirmed.
