We will not blacklist actors who are into politics - Paul Gee

A film producer Mr. Paul Agyei has disclosed that film producers in Kumasi will no longer blacklist any filmmaker who chooses to endorse any presidential candidate.

According to him, the producers have no option than to use these stars in their movies.

‘We have no option than to use them because if we blacklists them for political reason then the movie industry will collapse entirely.'

Paul Gee as he is popularly called who was sharing his thoughts on the series of political endorsements by celebrities said, the rate at which film makers are flocking towards political activities are worrying and if care is not taken it can affect the industry."

‘The increasing number of endorsements by some filmmakers can affect the industry because in Ghana our democracy is young and not ready for these things'.

Some celebrities have lately been heavily criticized by a section of the public for endorsing political parties.

But Paul Gee speaking on Ashh fm’s National Agenda hosted by Odeefour Kwasi Kay said though there is nothing wrong with celebrities endorsing a particular political party of their choice, problem is how they will conduct themselves after the endorsement.
