Former MUSIGA President, Diana Hopeson revealed in an interview with Kojo Preko Dankwa on Kasapa Entertainment on Kasapa 102.3 FM, that sound engineer, Appiah Dankwah aka Appietus is Obour’s successor.

“We have started training the next person to take up the mantle as MUSIGA president after Obour. Obour started as Youth leader in MUSIGA so as Appietus has also been given the nod to help up and coming artiste, it’s obvious that Appietus will take over from Obour.”

Diana Hopeson noted that at the eleventh hour of her reign as MUSIGA President, she had to prepare Obour who was energetic as young man to take over from her.

She added that MUSIGA’s work schedules demands courageous and selfless leadership to improve on the work of the organization.

“As a matter of fact when I was about to step down there were a lot of grown people in terms of age but I needed to train someone who is courageous and selfless. Obour was already involved in MUSIGA activities as the Youth Leader so I had no other option than to bring him upfront to carry on with the work of MUSIGA.

“When my time was due I made it a point to get a good successor who will excel than I did, since Obour worked under my jurisdiction I didn’t hesitate to choose him because I was optimistic he was competent and could deliver.”

She was asked by the host on several allegations made by veteran high life singer, Gyedu Blay Ambolley that there is ‘Mafiarism’ at MUSIGA, but she stated emphatically that he (Ambolley) did not respond to her call to get closer and tap experience but criticized MUSIGA Executives without facts which tarnished the reputation of the organisation.

Rating Obour’s first five year term, the Former MUSIGA President commended him (Obour) for his achievements so far.

“Obour has done well so far, he cannot do all at the same time and someone else may have to also continue with the work.”

She further confirmed reports about her intention to work as a Minister in any Government when appointed.

“Am a gift to the country so if the chance comes for me to be appointed as a Minister i will not reject it.”
