Uganda’s Aamito is Africa’s Next Top Model winner

The maiden edition of Oluchi Orlandi’s Africa’s Next Top Model competition came to an end yesterday.

The competition, which first aired on November 10, 2013, yesterday saw Ugandan model, Aamito, crowned winner, beating two other finalists.

“My family and friends we have done it! It couldn’t have been possible without you all; thank you,” she said.

“Africa but first, my beautiful country Uganda who have put all their trust in me; encouraged and supported me from day 1; thank you.

“Beautiful Africa and even more beautiful people from around the world that have all shown me nothing but love.

“I am extremely humbled and overwhelmed by the tremendous and mind blowing support you beauties have shown me over the past 10 weeks.”

A successful first attempt, the ANTM is a baby product of Nigerian supermodel, Oluchi.

It “follows supermodel hopefuls from all over the continent as they strive to prove they have what it takes to make in the cut-throat world of modeling.

“The show documents a continent-wide search to find 12 top contenders who will compete for a coveted modeling contract and a shot at the career of a lifetime.”

Over a period of several weeks, 12 lucky contestants including Ghana’s Roselyn Ashkar, were trained by some of the top-modeling experts in the world.

Contestants were evaluated on a regular basis by an elite panel of judges led by Oluchi.
