‘The Game’ premieres on Viasat 1

More of Hollywood’s leading television series continue to make their way onto the Ghanaian free-to-air television market via Viasat 1. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ already premiered on August 30 while ‘The Game’ makes its debut on September 3. The Game, a spin-off of the popular sitcom ‘Girlfriends’, features a group of women who all have relationships with professional football players.

At the start of the year Viasat1 announced an introduction of a range of new and exciting programs this year. Deals have been signed between Viasat 1 and the five biggest studios in Hollywood, to facilitate Viasat 1 showing top quality blockbuster movies and serials in Ghana. Already the first run of season I of award winning Ghost Whisperer recently ended. Grey’s Anatomy a drama centered on the personal and professional lives of five surgical interns and their supervisors shows weeknights at 9pm.

With a gradual and progressive growth in local television market shares Viasat 1 is bent on being the bench mark for quality and consistent television programming. Last month the TV Channel launched the first of its own productions- THE ONE SHOW- a female skewed daily talk show hosted by Joselyn Dumas, which has grown tremendously in audience shares. It is expected that the channel’s second local production –LAUGH A MINUTE- a hilarious daily family show featuring funny home videos from around the world hosted by Ghanaian stand up comedian David Oscar will take the airwaves by storm. Laugh a Minute premieres Monday 27th September at 8pm.
