Popular Ghanaian Gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has tagged artistes of other music genres apart from Gospel as ‘satanic’.

“There is a clear distinction between songs by Sarkodie, others and gospel music: they sing about worldly things ‘Satan’ and we (Gospel Singers) sing about Christ,” he replied on why most Gospel veterans don’t assist or collaborate with new crop of stars as the other genres do.

Edward Akwasi Boateng, who debunked rumours that the other music genres have taken the gospel musicians’ shine, said those who sing worldly songs are agents of the devil.

In an interview with Top FM, the gospel veteran asserted that though most Gospel artists sing Christian music however not all are real gospel musicians.

He explained further that being a gospel musician is based on ‘Grace’ of God since other gospel acts also sing for the devil, adding that as a minister of the of the gospel he believes it is not right for a gospel musician to demand payment after putting up a show.

“A Gospel musicians should not charge for a show, we should learn to minister for free but if you are given a token then that can be accepted.”

According to him, the gospel music business is a profitable venture and any artiste who wants to get into gospel music should first give his or her life to Christ.
