Silverbird crowns first anniversary with ....

A BRAND NEW CAR TO A LUCKY CUSTOMER*

*Accra, December 21, 2009* - Silverbird Entertainment Ghana Limited over the weekend rewarded a lucky customer with a brand new VW Polo car. This special reward was the top prize to crown Silverbird’s first anniversary in Ghana. In a ceremony attended by partners, sponsors, the press and invited guests, the grand raffle draw held under the supervision of Gaming Commission saw Mr. William Duncan emerging as the proud winner of the brand new VW Polo by courtesy of Universal Motors.

Silverbird Ghana was one year old on November 14, 2009 and has been marking the first anniversary with a number of packages and events to reward its customers. The months of November and December were set aside to reward customers with a lot of prizes including the VW Polo as the top prize. Customers were made to enter their contact details on any movie tickets they bought or on tickets for any items they bought in the Lifestyle store to qualify for an entry into the grand raffle draw.

In a telephone response to the announcement for being the winner of the brand new VW Polo, Mr. William Duncan who resides in Dansoman says “I am very happy and surprised. I never dreamt of anything like this in my life. Shopping for quality items in the Lifestyle store and now winning a car is just too much to believe. I thank Silverbird so much”.

The grand raffle draw also left some lucky customers with consolation prizes including home theatres, rice cookers, blenders, and lots of complementary tickets to see great movies at Silverbird.

Welcoming the guests, Managing Director of Global Media Alliance Mr. Ernest Boateng said in just over 12 months Silverbird has become the entertainment destination of choice for families and friends and with only five theatres, Silverbird Ghana set a day Africa record of box office patronage of Harry Potter. He said management of Silverbird are happy for the numerous goodwill message they continue to receive from Ghanaians for having revived the cinema culture and for taking Ghana’s entertainment to world-class standards.

In their commitment to promoting the African entertainment industry, Silverbird also marked their first anniversary with other interesting activities and packages including ‘Silverbird Celebrities Day Out’, where Silverbird treated their customers to a pool of stars including film stars, music icons, DJs, radio and TV presenters, music and movie producers as well as other showbiz personalities. The event brought together artistes and stars like Sarkodie, Kwabena Kwabena, Kwaku T, Tic Tac, Jessica Saforo, Jeremie, Nana Kwame, R2bees, Bola Ray and KOD and many others to interact up-close with their fans.

Silverbird also held a special day for children and treated them to fun games and interesting children movies. The day gave many children a new horizon and imagination through films and fun as they engaged in activities such as face painting, playing in bouncing castles as well as seeing great children movies of their choice.

There was also the Silverbird Ladies Night where many ladies filled the theatres for interesting movies at discount prices plus free drinks and popcorn. Silverbird Campus Day was also held to give students a unique opportunity to enjoy great movies at special discount prices. The Campus Day was a unique opportunity for students to catch up with old friends from different schools as well as an occasion for several students to have some quality fun aside their books.

Addressing the gathering at the grand raffle draw, Mr. Ben Murray Bruce, Group Chairman of Silverbird said Silverbird considers it a great duty to appreciate and reward their clients and partners at all times.
